  • Wonderful

"This beautiful studio cottage in the woods was just as described and even more delightful than the pictures. Our hosts John and Carol have done a great job making this a home away from home.....a welcoming touch was the gourmet coffee ready for the pot. We have come to Door County for decades and this cottage was one of the best places we have ever stayed. Thank you!"

  • Relaxing and Comfortable Door County getaway

"The description of this property was exactly as described. It was very clean, well maintained and stocked with all the amenities. Ellen was very helpful, courteous and has very good communication skills. The area is peaceful and quiet, which we, as an older couple, appreciate. We visit Door County every year and am very familiar with the area. This property exceeded our expectations. We would definitely recommend this property to friends and relatives and plan on staying here again."

"My husband and I came here in October for a quiet little getaway. And man did we love it! We loved it so much that my husband wanted to call the cabin owners and ask if it's for sale! HAHA! We LOVED our experience. Also it doesn't hurt that thanks to El Nino we got lucky and hit Door County RIGHT AT PEAK. Everyone in Door County told us how lucky we were because technically we were about 2 weeks late for typical peak. The cabin itself is absolutely wonderful. I would say it is PERFECT for a couple or a family of 4-6. The master bedroom is the top "loft" of the cabin. Then on the main floor are 2 more bedrooms. And then in the basement is a room with I think 2 twin beds- great for kids. The photos look great but I honestly think it's even better in person. The cabin was SO clean. I'm a germ-a-phobe in general and I hate staying in hotels. No matter how fancy the hotel it always feels icky to me. This cabin felt like HOME. We enjoyed the outdoor fire pit every single night. It was so perfect in the fall as it's situated pretty far back on the property right under all the big beautiful trees that the cabin backs up to. We also built a fire in the fireplace every night. The ONLY hiccup is the indoor fireplace is a little quirky and the first time we tried to use it the whole cabin filled with smoke. Turns out there is a light switch on the wall that operates some kind of fan in the chimney that must be turned on unless you want to inhale smoke. I wish they had left some fireplace instructions for us. That's really the only hiccup we had. The cabin is warm and cozy and the property is perfect. The cabin is on a fairly large lot and backs up to wooded land. My husband and I even loved the road that leads up to the cabin as it's a TRUE country road. We are even talking about returning in the winter to just cozy up inside and enjoy the fire place and watch the snow fall outside. Maybe do a little snow shoeing. Being in this cabin we felt like we were on a mountain top out in Colorado! And to return with the snow falling would REALLY feel special. We LOVED our stay and LOVED the cabin and would 1,000% return! GORGEOUS, SPECIAL CABIN!"

  • Cute, Comfy, but.....

"Had a great stay. Everything was clean, comfortable, plenty of space for 6 adults. The home is cute, nicely remodeled with nice finishes that make the space fun to be in. The location is great right off the HWY (very quiet inside). Close to an amazing little coffee shop (Base Camp), as well as other shops and restaurants. It is well managed and they are very responsive. A few negatives are there was a musty odor in the home, there must be a moisture problem that really should get figured out. Hot water ran out after the 5th short shower so you need to space those out if going with larger group, the indoor fireplace does not appear to operate, and lastly it would have been nice to have a grill available on the deck, but I realize this is not in the description so it should not be expected. None of the negatives would stop us from going back to this home, but a few minor things would have made this home perfect. Thanks for allowing us to stay!"
