The Bahia Retreat is a large, modern home located in the South Harbour area of Bodega Bay. Sweeping ocean views from Bodega Head to Pt. Reyes allow fantastic westerly views with amazing sunsets. Situated at the back of a court, the home backs to open space where deer, hare, quail and other birds and animals are often present. The home is also across the street from a trail that is a 1/2 mile walk down to a secluded cove along Bodega Bay.
The South Harbor of Bodega Bay is home to the Links at Bodega Harbor, a highly rated Robert Trent Jones designed course that offers some of the most scenic and challenging rounds in Northern California. The Bluewater Bistro is the excellent restaurant located at the clubhouse, and offers lunch 7 days a week, dinner Thursday through Sunday and breakfast on weekends.
The home features an open 2,700 square foot floor plan with water views from the living room, dining room, all bedrooms, den and kitchen. There are designer touches throughout the home. The kitchen is well equipped, and includes a modern gas stove/convection oven, microwave, blender, Cuisinart, two coffee makers and cooking equipment typically required to cook full meals.
The dining area features a large designer table that seats 8 on chairs and benches, with a "lazy susan" in the center for serving ease.
A deck off the kitchen and dining areas has a table with seating for four, and additional seats may be added for larger groups. There is a propane barbeque on the deck, and an additional Weber charcoal BBQ available if needed.
The large light-filled living room contains two oversize chairs and a couch, allowing relaxing reading, television viewing, listening to the stereo system or enjoying the woodburning fireplace. There is also a game table with four chairs. The game table and game chest hold a variety of games including cards, chess, checkers, cribbage, Scrabble, Yahtzee, Monopoly, Tripoly and others. There are DVD/VHS players and a large video library with dozens of selections. A high-power telescope is available to watch boats, marine mammals and wildlife.
The master bedroom is located on the upper floor of the home and looks directly across open space to the ocean. It features a king-sized bed, fireplace, television, walk-in closest, bath with separate jetted tub, two sinks and large shower.
The two additional bedrooms are located downstairs, each with sliding glass doors that open out to the open space at the rear and ocean views. Each has a queen size bed and a television available. These bedrooms share the downstairs full bathroom. The second downstairs bedroom connects to the den, where there is also a convertible sofa that may be converted into a queen size bed.
The den features a television, DVD and VHS players, wet bar and mini-refrigerator, allowing a separate entertainment area. Along with the convertible sofa, there are two large and comfortable easy chairs. There is also a computer with a Comcast high-speed internet connection. A five-person hot tub is located just outside the family room, offering incredible views of the Milky Way on clear moonless evenings and the sounds of sea lions and surf.

We purchased this home in Bodega Harbour first and foremost because we love the ocean. There are few places along the California Coast where you can purchase a modern home in a well kept community. Bodega Harbour offers a superb location, convenience to the North Bay cities and easy reach for weekenders in the Bay Area.
The Unique Benefits at this House
The house has a reputation as a modern and comfortable place to unwind. Many people who rent spend their time reading, walking beaches and relaxing. Others go inland 20 miles to the wineries and superb eateries of the North Bay, or golfing at the Bodega Harbour course (open to the public). The house has fantastic ocean views from the living and dining rooms and all bedrooms - it is easy to spend the day watching the ocean and he weather.

Plus, you made us feel welcome to be there, not as if we were intruding. We absolutely LOVED our week at the Bahia Retreat. The house is beautiful, well maintained and well appointed. We saw the sights along the coast and the wine country throughout the week, but the highlight of each day was coming home for sunset, dinner and some wine. We can't wait to return.

Got back this afternoon from the Bahia Retreat. We had a GREAT time!! It was a wonderful get away for the Girls!!!! I can't thank you enough!! We had lunch today at Nick's Cove. The food was awesome and what great weather we had! Went to Osmosis for massages yesterday. I was all excited about the Freestone bakery, only to find it CLOSED on Tuesday!! That was the only downer of the trip. Thanks again!

We had a wonderful time at your home! We were out most of the days touring, but a lot of times returned at night to cook dinner and watch the beautiful sun set.
