The Bahia Retreat is a large, modern home located in the South Harbour area of Bodega Bay. Sweeping ocean views from Bodega Head to Pt. Reyes allow fantastic westerly views with amazing sunsets. Situated at the back of a court, the home backs to open space where deer, hare, quail and other birds and animals are often present. The home is also across the street from a trail that is a 1/2 mile walk down to a secluded cove along Bodega Bay.
The South Harbor of Bodega Bay is home to the Links at Bodega Harbor, a highly rated Robert Trent Jones designed course that offers some of the most scenic and challenging rounds in Northern California. The Bluewater Bistro is the excellent restaurant located at the clubhouse, and offers lunch 7 days a week, dinner Thursday through Sunday and breakfast on weekends.
The home features an open 2,700 square foot floor plan with water views from the living room, dining room, all bedrooms, den and kitchen. There are designer touches throughout the home. The kitchen is well equipped, and includes a modern gas stove/convection oven, microwave, blender, Cuisinart, two coffee makers and cooking equipment typically required to cook full meals.
The dining area features a large designer table that seats 8 on chairs and benches, with a "lazy susan" in the center for serving ease.
A deck off the kitchen and dining areas has a table with seating for four, and additional seats may be added for larger groups. There is a propane barbeque on the deck, and an additional Weber charcoal BBQ available if needed.
The large light-filled living room contains two oversize chairs and a couch, allowing relaxing reading, HDTV television viewing, listening to the stereo system or enjoying the woodburning fireplace. There is also a game table with four chairs. The game table and game chest hold a variety of games including cards, chess, checkers, cribbage, Scrabble, Yahtzee, Monopoly, Tripoly and others. There are DVD/VHS players and a large video library with dozens of selections. A high-power telescope is available to watch boats, marine mammals and wildlife.
The master bedroom is located on the upper floor of the home and looks directly across open space to the ocean. It features a king-sized bed, fireplace, television, walk-in closest, bath with separate jetted tub, two sinks and large shower.
The two additional bedrooms are located downstairs, each with sliding glass doors that open out to the open space at the rear and ocean views. Each has a queen size bed and a television available. These bedrooms share the downstairs full bathroom. The second downstairs bedroom connects to the den, where there is also a convertible sofa that may be converted into a queen size bed.
The den features an HDTV television, DVD and VHS players, wet bar and mini-refrigerator, allowing a separate entertainment area. Along with the convertible sofa, there are two large and comfortable easy chairs. There is also a computer with a Comcast high-speed internet connection and a wifi modem. A five-person hot tub is located just outside the family room, offering incredible views of the Milky Way on clear moonless evenings and the sounds of sea lions and surf.

We purchased this home in Bodega Harbour first and foremost because we love the ocean. There are few places along the California Coast where you can purchase a modern home in a well kept community. Bodega Harbour offers a superb location, convenience to the North Bay cities and easy reach for weekenders in the Bay Area.
The Unique Benefits at this House
The house has a reputation as a modern and comfortable place to unwind. Many people who rent spend their time reading, walking beaches and relaxing. Others go inland 20 miles to the wineries and superb eateries of the North Bay, or golfing at the Bodega Harbour course (open to the public). The house has fantastic ocean views from the living and dining rooms and all bedrooms - it is easy to spend the day watching the ocean and the weather.

Stayed for four days with my family during a warm winter spell and had a wonderful visit! The view is amazing and all across the house! The house is clean, spacious and well appointed. Our children enjoyed the den downstairs where they could use the computer and watch the HDTV, The adults held festivities in the upstairs living room. We would all gather for meals in the dining area - the dining room table is my favorite, with equal sides and a big lazy susan in the middle. Most enjoyable time - we will be back!

We had three couples staying for a long weekend, including our annual BBQ, a golf day and a wine tasting day. We loved this house!!! It is furnished to a far higher standard than a typical rental house, and has beautiful ocean views throughout. The house was very clean and had nice touches throughout. We had deer and bunnies right outside the rear bedroom windows - bit of a surprise in the early morning! We give the house our highest recommendation!

We went there for memorial day weekend in 2011 for 2 nights. We were looking for a place to relax, have some good food and bar-b-que, enjoy the ocean view. This rental was just the perfect place for all of these. It is such a beautifully maintained house inside, that you might actually be sad when you leave..The house is much more beautiful than it is shown in the pictures. It had all amenities and every little thing that you could have imagined. The patio was just the right size and the right location.. You can enjoy bar-b-que with nice ocean view in front of you, occasionally visited by different species of small birds. The bedrooms were very nice and all bedrooms had a view of the ocean..Even the kitchen had an ocean view. The neighbourhood was quiet and everything was just perfect. Everyone in our group of 6 adults enjoyed the stay.. Looking forward to be back to this place again!!

Thank you for renting your home to my family. This was the perfect place to gather the extended family for a long weekend. Your house is the best equipped rental home and is kept in fantastic shape! This is the third time I have stayed at this home with a group of friends. We have been coming to Bodega Bay for eight years. We changed our rental homes every year until we came here, but we decided this was the one where we would always come back. This is not furnished like a rental home - the furnishings, cookware, dishes, etc. are far superior to other places where we have stayed. The layout is fantastic - all bedrooms and the living room have an ocean view. This is our home away from home, and I can give it my strongest recommendation!

This is a wonderful house. VERY clean and well appointed. The views are fantastic and the wildlife is amazing to watch. Deer right in the yard while sitting in the hot tub. Quiet neighborhood. A great hike to a very nice beach with incredible tide pools. The owner was very easy to communicate with. Can't say enough good about the whole experience. Would highly recommend a stay here. Better than the pictures!
