Location: Venice, Veneto, Italy, Europe
Accommodations: Apartment, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath (Sleeps 2-4)
Keywords: Apartment
This sunny, 50 sq.m, first floor apartment (not to be confused with "ground floor") is in a corner building located on a quiet, yet quite active, canal near the gardens of the Venetian Biennial International Art Fairgrounds.
It is best suited for 2 or 4 (couple with children) people.
Although the area is "off the beaten (tourist) path", with all the local color of Venetian housewives doing their morning shopping at the fresh fish and produce markets, children playing in the two, rare "green areas" of Venice, and people taking the time for a 'spritz' or an 'ombretta' and 'cichetto' (aperitves) before lunch or dinner, it is still in a very strategic position (all lines and Alilaguna stop at 'Giardini', our waterbus-stop) allowing our guests easy access to the apartment from the airport, train station, or city parking lot on the mainland.
Piazza S. Marco is a 10min. walk and the Rialto Brige is 15min. away on foot, but it's nice to know that , after a day of sight-seeing, you can get back home - and anywhere in the laguna (Murano&Burano, and the Lido - Casinò and Film Festival)-with the 'vaporetto' as all lines stop here.

What a great appartment!! It's not just renting, one feels there at home. Gloria, the owner, has done a wonderful job making this homy full equipped appartment. Do not hesitate, this is the appartment for you if you are looking to avoid the tourists and you want to rest in a place where there is almost no noise. And this in Venice is very difficult! Not far from San Marco, just a ten minute walk, Near a vaporetto stop. Close to supermarkets. And close to the only gardens in venice which are very beautiful. Thank you Gloria for the nice place you've created. We stayed there with my husband on September 8 to 11, year 2011. Maru and Luis

I have had the good fortune of staying multiple times at Glora's apartment in Castello. It is by far my favorite. She is very easy to deal with and along with her friend Maria, makes certain her guests are well-cared for. The location is in a quiet neighborhood away from the bustle of the tourist attractions; close enough to hustle a walk to San Marco in ten minutes, or take a vaporetto in five. The apartment is very well-appointed and has all the amenities needed for cooking up a meal after a long day of sight-seeing. The difference between this apartment and most others is that it feels like an actual home, because it is; most other rentals don't have the personal touches on display. It is extremely comfortable and is very much appreciated. I absolutely adore this place, and will continue to return regularly. Thank you Gloria for your attention to detail and sharing your charming home!

My husband and I stayed in this great Venetian apartment for 5 nights. I have been to Venice numerous times but always staying in hotels. It was much more fun to live like a "local" and experience the real Venice. I would recommend it to everyone and look forward to returning there in the future.

Even as advertised, and yet more! We loved our stay in this well located, charming apartment. With its proximity to the beautiful Biennale Gardens, nearness to San Marco, but at the same time, far enough off the beaten path, this is the way to experience the Real Venice. Spotless accommodations, with all the accessories one might need to settle in, the apartment has numerous windows offering many stunning views of the quotidian life of a Venetian and offers enough room to escape the confinement of a typical hotel stay. We will definitely return to this lovely place.

This is the ideal apartment for Venice. This apartment is on a quiet canal off the beaten path a bit. However, it is close enough to all the tourist locations. It was so nice to have a quite apartment to go back to after spending all that time in the hoards of people. The location really has a "residential feel" and all the shops and restaurants around it are very local and not touristy. I think we fit in really well around the area and I think we were confused for locals. :-) The owner, Gloria was very attentive and helpful. She also speaks perfect English. This is a MUST GO!

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the apt. - it was much nicer than we expected and located near a beautiful park. We loved the location because of the "residential feel" and enjoyed local and less touristy spots. Very, very, very happy with our experience as we felt like Venetians rather than tourists! Gloria is very attentive and helpful and Senora Franca was sweet! This is a "MUST GO" and we will be back again!

The apartment is SO WONDERFUL! We had enjoyed it during 1 week and the area where it's situated seems to be the better area where staying at Venice! It's quiet, enough far from the touristic area and, by the same time, close, by vaporeto (and also by foot), to everything you would like to join! The area is really green (rare at Venice) with a lot of glorious place to read a book, have a rest, do a pic-nic, have a walk long the canal or having dinner in a typical restaurant... The apartment is situated long a pleasant and quiet canal... is really luminous, well equipped, clean and perfect for two persons. The only defect that we could note is the entrance and the stairs of the house that would need to be refresh quickly! Thanks a lot to Gloria for this wonderful place to stay!

My fiancé and I stayed here in October 2009. The apartment is quite easy to find and get to from the Giardini vaporetto stop. The neighborhood is great, populated by Venicians and very few tourists, with lots of kids playing. The apartment is spacious and was very comfortable. We self-catered many meals, since we found most of the restaurants in Venice to be just OK. There are many shops and markets to buy produce and other items on via Garibaldi, a short walk away. The only thing which could have been better is if the apartment had a terrace or patio, but that is really it. All-in-all, I highly recommend this apartment for the quiet location and authentic Venice feel.

We found this to be a perfect location for our needs: quiet, residential neighborhood, yet within walking distance of main attractions, close to public transportation, and close to local shopping (from small supermarket and vegetable stands to a wine shop where you bring your own bottles to be filled). The one-bedroom apartment is well appointed and comfortable, it has a full kitchen with all necessary items and large refrigeretor, and a bathroom with a real shower, not the hand-held-in-an-open-tub type often found in Italy. We'll definitely go back to Venice, and when we do we hope to stay here again.

my husband and I stayed here for 4 days in early May. Apartment was very nice. It was so nice to be on a quiet canal but still close to everything. We never could get the internet to work and picture on the web sight shows a TV there was no TV in the apartment. The TV was not a problem but the internet not working made things difficult for my husband to stay in touch with his office. Over all the apartment was great, nice and clean and a good location.
