LOVED.... the space (definately perfect for two people).. the full kitchen with big fridge (saved us lots of money on food)...the privacy (close enough for the owners help, but far enough away not to hear us snore)..looking at the Mountains through the small overhead privacy windows (the tropical breeze that blew through them at night)... the little patio (quiet and nice to have a breakfast or a nighttime drink together on) ... the location (close enough to everything but far enough away from the crowds-also GREAT!! for military or retirees to get groceries at the Marine base)... being so close to one of the most beautiful beaches on earth (Water was still a little cold in March but beautiful)...the awesome job done on the little waterfall (make sure you cut if off when going out though) ...the decision that we made when we decided to stay here!!!! Hope to return one day. HATED.....the pillows (really need to be replaced., but the bed was fine) If you don't stay here then you are really missing out on a great place to stay and Chris was a nice guy to work with!!!! . HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!....Germaines Luau over the Polynesian village (off the beaten path but well worth it)....the "Breath of Life" show at the Polynesian village (Gotta see this..the mixture of Hawaii's heritage brought together in one show!!)....The Crouching Lion Inn to eat at (especially the Coconut Shrimp....drinks very reasonable....view wonderful and fun location)...Pupukea beach at north shore to take beautiful pictures..water splashing over rocks....some people snorkle here too)...Waimea Valley for pretty pictures (but waterfalls not that big-Military $5 only $15 for everyone else-nice walk)...Pearl Harbor (if you love history...but rent the headsets. Don't watch movie in first building on left if you don't have the time...kind of a repeat of the one you'll see later before you get on the boat)....And last but the most AWESOME of all... the 2 hours ATV ride at Kualoa ranch was the most fun we had on the trip. If you can hold on to the handlebars of an ATV over a few rocks...Don't miss out on this...They also have horseback riding and bus rides .Beautiful valley...Beautiful beach....Lots of fun!!! Aloha .....Thanks so much for your rental and helping us have a wonderful vacation we will always remember....Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My wife Linda and I stayed at Beachwalk Cottage for 2 weeks in November and were so impressed we booked for 3 weeks next year before we left, The cottage was the perfect size and the location was great. The walk to the beach was 2 min. and we never missed a sunrise. The owners Chris and Rochelle were very hospitable and on football game day we felt like part of the family. The lanai and waterfall added to the relaxing atmosphere of the cottage. Best place to stay in Kailua!Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This beach cottage was absolutely perfect for our first trip to Hawaii! We couldn't have asked for more. Chris and Rochelle have appointed this cottage very well, and have thought of everthing. We so loved being able to sit outside on the lanai at any time of day and just soak in Hawaii. On most nights, we were able to leave the doors open because it is so private. Kailua Beach is so close and by far the most beautiful beach on the whole island! Having the kitchenette and the outdoor BBQ made it more affordable to eat too. Thank you so much for all the time and attention to detail that you put into this place, it was a total delight to stay here!Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

We really enjoyed your cottage. Everything was so clean and comfortable for our family. The private courtyard with fountain is where we spent most of our time. It is very private and beautiful. We loved walking down to the beach with our coffee in the morning. One of the biggest and most beautiful beaches on Oahu is just steps away! This was just such a nice alternative to the crazy Waikiki area we used to stay. We will be back as soon as we can. Thank you!Recommended for: People with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

We stayed in this most comfortable cottage from July 26, thru Aug 2, both Chris and Rochelle has done a wonderful job furnishing this unit, it had everything one would need, they didn't miss a thing, like we did, we went out and bought a map, not knowing that they already had a drawer full, but we had not looked. We should have known though, cause they had thought of everything else. We want to Thank them very much for their hospitality and all the help Chris gave us when it came to giving us directions, I was born there, but so much had changed, I had no idea where anything was. We most certainly would like to stay again on our next family visit, if they would have us again, the cottage was clean, and comfy, the waterfall/pond with a fish in it was so relaxing to watch and listen to, the birds drinking water from the waterfall was so nice to watch as we sat on the patio having our coffee in the morning. This cottage is close to town and the beach. Thanks again Chris and Rochelle for helping to make our stay most comfortable and relaxing.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This place was all that it promised and more!!! The location can't be beat, about 1 block to the beach, quiet neighborhood and close to everything. Lots of cool shops and restaurants in Kailua town, more commercial stores just over in Kaneohe and just a hop, skip and jump over the Ko'olau mountains to town. The cottage itself was exceptionally clean, well furnished and nice sized. The best thing was having a full kitchen. We made breakfast and dinners at the cottage mostly and saved hundreds! The cottage is private enough where you feel like you were in your own place, yet Chris and Rochelle are right there if you need anything, (or just to talk story a little). LOVED having the table just outside with the beautiful garden and waterfall. Many geckos and birds around for endless entertainment as well. Perfect place to sit and have morning coffee and breakfast or just to chill. Though we didn't use them, the BBQ was right there to use along with a bunch of beach stuff. Very handy. Nice to have a washer/dryer there as well and is cheaper and so much more convenient than using a laundry-mat. Chris & Rochelle were awesome hosts, as was Kona (we didn't meet the other two kids). Thank you guys so much for the use of your awesome place. We only hope this property is available next time we come to Oah'u!!! Thanks!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children.

You just can't beat this rental! I am a 'transplanted' local girl who returned for a family wedding with my son. A friend recommended I check out the vrbo.com site and that is how I stumbled on this gem. The pictures don't do it justice. LOTS of space, wonderful location (a few minutes walk to the beach access) and fantastic host family! The unit is completely separate from the owners home and very private. The entry to the unit is gated with a small yard complete with waterfall, BBQ and covered dining/sitting area. The bathroom was large enough for all the girl stuff and then some. I have rented from Hawaiian Beach rentals, stayed at many of the island hotels and with relatives and have yet to find a better spot than this one. It is unbelievably affordable as well. No hidden taxes, fees, etc. and free WiFi. My only hope is that it will be available for our next visit! Mahalo Chris, Rochelle and family!Did you find this review helpful? Just wanted to send a quick thank you to our wonderful hosts! My Brother and I recently had a death in the family, and was in Honolulu for a conf and to deal with some family issues, we really needed some time away from everyone. This place was perfect, the hosts were respectful of privacy, and yet someone was always around in case you may need anything. Having traveled the world, I can say this is one of the nicest cottages I have stayed at, everything you can need is right there for you. Despite what some of the other people have said, this place was very close to the ocean, perhaps they didnt understand the states "alleys to the beach" or something, but quite easy to get to. Very peaceful and relaxing, and we are so very happy to have stayed there, and hope to return sometime soon if the owners will have us. Anyone wanting to stay on this side of the island would be foolish not to stay here. They have thought of everything here, down to the boogieboards you can take anytime you wish. Thank you guys so much for making such a stressful time for us, so much better!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

After two years of vacationing in the noise and chaos of Waikiki, this lovely cottage was the perfect antidote. Detached from the owners' house and very private with a tall fence and small, beautifully landscaped yard (with water feature and fish) and a covered lanai, it was the quiet refuge we had hoped for. Chris and Rochelle and their kids were most welcoming while respecting our privacy. The cottage is a large open studio, very light and airy, nicely decorated and comfortably furnished, with a small but workable kitchen. There were plenty of extras towels, beach chairs, umbrellas and such. It is only one and a half blocks from Kailua Beach, which is even more gorgeous than the photos. We walked or ran every morning on the beach, and were impressed with the friendliness of the local people (and their dogs, who must be the luckiest dogs on the planet!) The surf break is close and gentle, perfect for the boogie boards that were in the yard, and that we tried to use: we had fun, but it was pretty pitiful! Next time, we'll maybe take a lesson, or try paddle boarding. There are places nearby that rent for all sorts of water activities. . The experience of being in a real "neighborhood" was so delightful and Beachwalk Cottage completely met and exceeded our expectations. We know we'll be back.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.
