Cottage located 5 miles from the entrance of Acadia National Park. Centrally located. Very close to all activity but far enough away to relax and enjoy nature. Private drive with view of Cadillac mountain.
The cottage is 1800 square feet with a cathedral ceiling. An open floor plan is very comfortable and welcoming. A large rap-around deck surrounded by lawn and multiple flower beds. The deck has 2 entrances front and back with gates provided to protect children or pets from roaming. The advantages of being outside without the worries. The perfect place to relax after a day of exploring the island. A great selection of books and board games are provided. The cottage is fully equipped for you to arrive and feel at home. Your personal articles are all that is needed to get your vacation up and running.
If you prefer to be a passenger the island bus service picks up and returns passengers at the head of the private drive.
The only indication that you are on an island is the fact that your destination always ends at the ocean.

A 7% Maine state lodging tax will also apply.
50% deposit at time of reservation is required with the remainder due 3 wks prior

We are a working class couple with our children grown and on their own.
Why the Owner Chose Bar Harbor
We designed and built the house when we were first starting out. This is the only home my children knew until they went off to college. We still live in the house in the winter but live in a travel trailer on the pond during the summer. The house, garden and yard are just to enjoyable for it not to be used during our best months of the year! That's why we decided to rent.
The Unique Benefits of this House
Everyone who enters the house mentions how "homey & Cozy" it is. We try to leave the house so our renters feel like they are going from one home to another. This seems to be the case as the comments that are written in the quest book reflects exactly that. The oak trees canopy the driveway as you approach the house. This makes it seem like your own little haven. The gardens attract the birds, squirls, etc. Early in the morning many times you will see deer grazing in the field at then end of our drive. Which during the summer months supply many fresh blueberries for the picking.

I truly cannot speak highly enough of this beautiful home. This rental experience was one instance where I felt that the real thing was even better than the photos! The owner of the home was incredibly helpful and quick with her responses to me (all via email), and she left the house absolutely immaculate. There are enough sheets, towels, books and board games for an army! I would recommend this cottage to anyone who wanted to vacation in Bar Harbor/Acadia and avoid the overwhelming crowds. We were, remarkably, able to satisfy our dog (who was free to roam on the spacious, fenced in deck) and we also enjoyed cooking breakfast and having coffee in the open, fully stocked kitchen (kitchens in Brooklyn are...let's say...not so spacious). The inside of the house is beautifully decorated and felt so cozy, and when you are hanging out on the deck you can't even tell that there are neighbors! This is the perfect rental for you if you are looking for a relaxing, secluded getaway in a beautiful home that almost feels like your own. Five stars!!!
