We offer a newly renovated (March 2008) designer two-bedroom apartment for up to six persons in one of the most exclusive neighborhoods in Paris, the avenue de la Bourdonnais in the 7th Arrondissement. This completely refurbished apartment represents the height of the "Hausmannian" period, replete with beautiful mouldings, gold trim, rosettes for the crystal chandeliers, original hardwood floors, oriental rugs throughout, and antique or appropriate furniture to match. We think it has all of the traditional Paris charm and style you could ever want.
The apartment has everything you and your family or friends will need to make Paris yours: air conditioning, a newly renovated full kitchen, lovely "waterfall" shower, separate WC, all new appliances including clothes washer and separate clothes dryer, dishwasher, refrigerator, four burner gas range, microwave/convection oven, "always on" water heater, two queen beds plus a very new and comfortable queen sofa bed, free local calls and free calls to North America, free WiFi, stereo system, and flat screen TV with cable television. There is an elevator; however the apartment is located up just one flight of lovely stairs, so you will probably want to use the stairs most of the time.
We hope that you will consider our apartment to be "Your Place in Paris."
You will have a view of the Eiffel Tower standing at any one of our three French windows fronting the avenue; the tower is but a five-minute walk from the apartment. The windows are new and double-glazed to reduce noise. The lovely Champ de Mars park is just steps across the street. In the park, you will discover what most tourists to the tower have not: the many opportunities for biking, wandering, jogging, pony and carousel rides for the kids, or just that special place for spreading out a picnic of local bread, wine and cheese. Everything you need for your Parisian picnic you can purchase around the corner on rue St. Dominique, which offers you a "French village" of local shops from restaurants, pharmacies, cafes, to butchers, bakers, fresh grocers and everything in between.
Walk a few blocks further down the quaint rue St. Dominique and you will come upon the famed rue Cler, with its myriad open air markets offering the best of France’s seafood, meats and produce praised in so many guide books. Not more than five minutes from the apartment is the Seine river where you can catch a "Bateaux Mouches" tour or take a water taxi to the Musee D'Orsay, St. Germain des Pres, the Louvre and Notre Dame; with fifteen minutes of walking you reach the Champs-Élysées. Take the buses across the street as another option to reach the Louvre, Notre Dame and the Marais within fifteen minutes, and you will get to know the city better than any veteran of the metro (though your local metro is not ten minutes’ away). A regional train station just minutes from your door will take you to Versailles.
No wonder Princess Caroline and other royals and celebrities chose this neighborhood as their Paris address. (Royal watchers can look for Princess Caroline's gilded crests on the opposite side of the Avenue). All taxes, linens and towels, gas and electricity are included in the quoted rates, no surprises at the end of your stay.
