You can't miss with this ideally located studio apartment. Rue de Beauce is a quiet one-way alleyway off rue de Bretagne. This 3rd arrondisement location is ideal for satisfying all your desires in Paris. The apartment is situated just a hop, skip, and jump (or you can walk :)) from le Marche des Enfants Rouge-the oldest in Paris-where you can find an assortment of produce, flowers, wine, fruits, and several restaurants. Or you can merely order a coffee and watch and listen to Parisians pass you by. Say bonjour! Also at your doorstep you will find wonderful specialty shops, bakeries, restaurants, banks, boutiques, and much, much more. To relax sit in the Square du Temple and let your imagination run wild while resting on the very spot that housed the Templars.

For museum lovers you are minutes from the Picasso Museum, the Carnavalet, and the Museum Cognac-Jay. For those who love churches, stroll through and admire Eglise Notre Dame des Blancs-Manteaux, Eglise Saint-Paul-Saint-Louis and more. As for shopaholics, try saying no to the fashionable boutiques along rue des Archives, rue Vieille du Temple, rue des Francs-Bourgeois, to name a few. Love to eat? Superb restaurants abound near the apartment which offer cuisine of almost every nationality. Tired from a long day of sightseeing? Then stop in the Fran Prix grocery store, buy a bottle of wine, an assortment of cheeses, perhaps a foie gras, a baguette, head back to the apartment, kick off your shoes, relax, and savor all that is French.

The apartment building is protected with a digicode and has an elevator. Once you open the door to your home away from home you will find a full kitchen equipped with stove, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, refrigerator/freezer, washer and dryer. Dishes, pots and pans, utensils, cups and glasses are available as well. The bathroom has a full tub for those who love a long bath as well as a shower. The toilet is opposite the bathroom

Amenities include television, telephone (for local calls only), internet access. An iron and ironing board are available.

You will be greeted by me at the apartment where I will give you the keys and go over the apartment with you. Should anything go wrong you will have my phone number so I can solve any emergency that might arise. As the saying goes, "There are no strangers in the world, only friends I haven't met yet." This is why your stay here is not like a stay in a hotel.

THIS IS A NON-SMOKING APARTMENT. SORRY, NO PETS ALLOWED.

The best way to contact me is by email. Simply click "Click to Inquire" and fill out the form. I will respond as quickly as possible, usually within 24 hours. If you need to speak with me by phone, please keep in mind the time difference and call at an appropriate time. Merci!

I can't say enough for not only the apartment, but for le Marais as well. Although you are in the center of Paris, you'll find yourself enveloped more in the French lifestyle than in other parts of the city where tourists abound. The diversity, the energy, the culture, the life of le Marais will have you wanting to return over and over. It is truly intoxicating! Keep in mind that the longer you stay the cheaper it becomes.

Want to learn French while you're here? Elizabeth is available to teach you the basics of French so you can comfortably order in a restaurant, ask for directions, or buy lunch at the marche des Enfants Rouges. It can make your stay all the more exciting. Let me know and I can arrange the lessons for you.

If you are interested in a private, personal and knowledgeable tour please contact my friend Yano Jane Cervenka-Bermann. (You must ask me for her email address as I am not permitted to list it here.) She has the all-important Conferenciere Nationale card which indicates she is a highly qualified tour guide and her English is impeccable. Many tour guides in Paris do not have this card thus their knowledge of history, culture and architecture is quite limited. You will be ecstatically pleased! I guarantee!

Hope to meet you soon! Steve and Eric

It's Paris and le Marais!

Owner's Map of Paris Arrondissement 3

I have lived in Paris for three years after taking an early retirement from the teaching profession. I am from the San Diego area (North County). I love to share my passion for this city with those who come and stay in our apartment. My dear friend Yano loves to share her knowledge and love of Paris as well.

    • Steve and Eric are, without a doubt, the finest hosts we've ever had at any vacation property - and I include many fine hotels and resorts in this comparison. Why? What makes their place different? The warm, genuine, and personal hospitality they provided just blew us away and exceeded every expectation. (And our expectations were very high! It was a romantic trip to Paris, after all.) It just could not have been the same wonderful trip without them. We will return to Paris and, if we're lucky, there will be room for us at Rue de Beauce. There's just no place else we'd rather stay. Tracy & Peter

      Homeowner Response:
We are truly humbled. It's people like you, Tracy and Peter, who make it so easy to be genuine, warm and hospitable. We are only mirror images of those who enter our lives. For us, we will always welcome you with open arms and open hearts, in Paris; at Beauce because we love how you make us better people. un grand bisous mes amis! Steve et Eric

    • Our visit in June 2009 was fantastic! Steve and Eric's hospitality and introduction to the neighborhood got us off to a wonderful start. We enjoyed their enthusiastic welcome. The up-to-date accommodations were comfortable, convenient, and located in a charming area. We shopped in the local food markets and dined in several nearby sidewalk cafes. We found the people of Paris to be warm, hospitable, and helpful with directions. Thank you Steve and Eric. We love Paris!

      Homeowner Response:
Bonjour Linda & Andy! What timing! I was just looking at the pictures of us sitting along the Seine with our Berthillon ice creams. Ahhh!! I'm glad to see "We love Paris". To not love Paris is to not love life. Anyway, thank you. Your terrific spirit is still felt in Beauce and Paris. Come Back!

      Homeowner Response:
Thanks to the both of you. But the next time you're here we have to get together for a coffee or dinner. We're just so happy that you found the apartment you home away from home here in Paris. You are always welcomed here. Steve & Eric

    • Ooh-la-la! We can't say enough about this place and its wonderful owners, Steve and Eric. The location is excellent for dining out or staying in with plenty of places to choose from either way. The neighborhood is lively - much to do and see everywhere you turn and within walking distance of many attractions. We felt safe going out in the evening and while we slept on the wonderfully comfortable big bed. The place is immaculate with plenty of great white linens, CD's and videos to help you feel at home, great shower/tub - every attention to detail one can imagine! Finally we caught up on laundry and e-mail here! Steve and Erc were charming to say the least. We found that we now have 2 new friends in Paris and miss them already. These guys went above and beyond to make our stay so memorable, so very special. After discussing a particular video one night, Steve made a special trp to bring it to us the next day. They remembered the special events whih brought us to Paris and helped us celebrate in French stle! Steve and Eric are 2 of the most thoughtful people we have ever met. Merci beaucoup to them for making our trip so unforgettable. Tom and Vicki, Arizona

      Homeowner Response:

We truly miss your joie de vivre here in Paris and each time I open the door to the apartment I expect to see you both with open arms. What memories we have of you here. Next birthday and anniversary you're coming back, right? We send you un mil bisous mes amis. Merci! Steve & Eric

    • April in Paris was excellent and the studio in the Marais was the PERFECT home base to enjoy our week. I spent hours looking online for an apartment before our trip, and I'm glad I kept going until I found this gem. Steve is a great host--more than willing to share his enthusiasm for Paris. If you have the chance to walk through the Marais with him, by all means, do so. We thoroughly enjoyed the time we were able to spend with him. Back to the apartment: it has everything you need: Internet connection, CD player (with a stock of CDs), TV, great "book exchange" stack--leave one, take one--decent variety--We didn't use the kitchen very much, but it has a mini-fridge (perfect for keeping our milk, bottled water and sodas cold) and stove top and microwave, as well as sink. Grocery store is right around the corner--super convenient. We did use the washer and dryer to do laundry--worked great. The neighborhood is fun: easy walking to the River, Notre Dame, the Louvre, great shops and restaurants, etc. (We even walked to the Eiffel Tower one morning--it's not close, but it's a "do-able" walk.) How great to come back each night to this great space where we slept very comfortably each night. Thanks again for helping us have a great vacation!

      Homeowner Response:
Hey Rik & Brad! Thank YOU! Had it not been for the apartment I would never have had the chance to meet two great guys from West Palm Beach. Le Marais is special as you both discovered. Sharing it is an honor. When I saw you two walking home from breakfast I knew you belonged here. I look forward to your return to Paris. Steve

He took us around the neighborhood and provided us with alot of useful tips about shopping, restaurants, the sites etc. Invaluable...especially the tip on how to avoid the lines at the Louvre!! A great city, a great host and a great place to stay!

      Homeowner Response:

    • Hi Steve and Eric, What a wonderful two weeks we had in your charming, comfortable and bright apartment in the most amazing area filled with great food shops, the most interesting market Les Enfant Rouge and the best patisserie, La Fougasse. We attest that everything you wrote and your commenters wrote about the area and the apartment is true. But even more to the point is that you two are great landlords. We enjoyed having wine and conversation with you in the apartment and a major highpoint was the evening tour of Montmartre you gave us, driving all around the Pigalle and Montmartre areas and ending with the most beautiful night view of Paris from the foot of Sacre Coeur. And of course, the meal in Place du Tertre, which was enhanced by Eric's lesson on cell phone photography. A good teacher, but a weak student. Thanks also to Elizabeth for her caring help in getting started and getting out for the return trip home. All warm wishes for a happy year and great success with the apartment. Rachael and Jeal

      Homeowner Response:
Bonjour Rachael et Jeal, Eric and I had such a good time with you both. From the first meeting to the late night in Montmartre. Seems like we were old friends having a get together. I just don't know how much more blessed we can get. I hope you enjoy the chocolates. Now don't eat them all at once! Thank you both for your kind words and company. Not to mention the BBQ sauce!! Yummy! :)

    • Comment Text: Bonjour, Steve and Eric! What can we possibly add to all the rave reviews for you and your lovely apartment? We would recommend it to anyone, and will come back to stay again if we can. Everything was just as described on your website. The apartment is stylish but comfortable, quiet, clean, well-equipped, and in a great location. We especially appreciated the good lighting and cozy arm chairs, the books and music, and the thoughtful little touches like the first aid kit and the welcome basket. Best of all was having new friends in Paris! We are so grateful to you, Steve, for all the help you gave us by email before we arrived, and for your wonderful welcome and practical help the day we arrived -- not to mention the neighborhood tour. There's nothing like being introduced to a city by someone who loves it and knows it well. Eric, we send special thanks for all your efforts to fix the TV so we could keep an eye on M. Sarkozy and his lovely bride, and for being our trip photographer. Please give our regards to Ben and Sophie. We wish we could get together with you sometime soon over a glass of wine. We send warm regards and many thanks.

      Homeowner Response:
Bonjour Bett & Ken, Ah! How nice it would be to sit with the two of you over a glass of wine or cup of coffee to hear about your day in Paris. You brightened not only our lives but Paris itself. Bett, your laugh was contagious! Ken, I loved listening to you speak of cathedrals. Ben, Sofia, Eric and I send un grand bisous. Merci, merci, merci! You are special!

    • Steve and Eric could not have been more accommodating. The apartment is wonderful, comfortable, impeccably clean with all the amenities you need in the best neighborhood in Paris. We met up for mid tour leave during an Afghanistan deployment and had high hopes to say the least. They were all met and exceeded by the apartment as well as Steve and Eric. Wonderful place, wonderful people. Cannot say enough great things about them all.

      Homeowner Response:
Hey Larissa and John! How much fun to be able to have drinks and dinner with you both. A big thank you and we all send a big hug and un gros bisous!
