LAKEFRONT COZY CABIN ON SUN VALLEY LAKE. The Woolly House at Moose Lake Lodge is a cute, cozy, intimate, romantic, little, Non-Smoking cabin in a fabulous location. It sits 1/4 mile from Rocky Mountain National Park and Arapaho National Forest, 3.5 miles from Grand Lake, and 100 miles from Denver.
Enjoy time on the large deck with a wonderful southern exposure and sweeping lake and mountain views. There is one bathroom and two bedrooms, each with a queen-size bed. There is also a twin sleeper sofa and a portable crib.
There is a wonderful, large, open fireplace but we do not routinely provide firewood. If there is firewood on the deck, please feel free to use it. The great room has a couch, a small dining area, and a well-equipped kitchen (but no dishwasher).
Sun Valley Lake is a secluded, private lake. Wildlife abounds in and around this beautiful lake. Many animals including moose, elk, deer, and bear, are frequent visitors. A wide variety of birds nest and feed around the lake. To protect the habitat and environment for the abundant wildlife, no powered boats are allowed on the lake.
When the lake is fully thawed we provide at least one, but often two watercraft for you to use (at your own risk)to enjoy the lake. The watercraft are rowboats, canoes, and paddleboats. The lake is a catch and release sport fishing lake. The fishing is usually great!
WINTER IS WONDERFUL HERE!! Snowmobile to the trail head directly from the house. Cross-country ski and snowshoeing trails can be accessed from the house.
