This one bedroom, 1 bathroom condo with extra sleeping area in the living room (pull down sofa), offers luxurious accommodation for one person or family of four. Located in the safest neighborhood of Washington DC, Capitol Hill - Historic District, located within walking distance to the National Mall as well as Eastern Market, local landmark. There are numerous grocery stores, restaurants and high end shopping areas within walking distance.

Capitol Hill Historic District takes its name from the hill, which rises in the center of the Federal City and extends eastward. Stretching easterly behind the Capitol Building along wide avenues lies the residential area known as Capitol Hill. Capitol Hill, one of the oldest residential communities in Washington, has grown from a small boarding house community for members of Congress to an area of more than 150 squares embracing a number of separate neighborhoods.

In the early years of the Republic few Congressmen wished to establish permanent residence in the city. Instead, most preferred to live in boarding houses within walking distance of the Capitol. Nothing remains of this community, and the area closest to the Capitol contains the Library of Congress, the Supreme Court, and the House and Senate Office buildings.

Capitol Hill is the largest residential historic district in the District of Columbia. Almost every street is composed of row houses of different stylistic varieties and periods forming a continuous wall broken only by street intersections. Side by side exist early 19th century manor houses, Federal townhouses, small frame dwellings, ornate Italianate bracketed houses and the late 19th century press brick row houses with their often whimsical decorative elements combining Richardsonian Romanesque, Queen Anne, and Eastlakian motifs.

Within the Historic District, you will find the most luxurious accommodation in the one of the best areas in Washington DC with many restaurants, cafes and places to shop, including the Eastern Market, the city's largest farmers' market and flea market.

This elegantly furnished one bedroom apartment approximately 1000 sq feet with one bathroom and fully equipped kitchen with a small backyard seating area and off street parking, provides great hotel alternative within walking distance to US Capitol, US Senate, Eastern Market, Union Station and the National Mall.

Very spacious for two, located in historic building in historic neighborhood, close to number of restaurants, shops and the Eastern Market, which turned out to be lot bigger on the weekends. The location was absolutely amazing as the historic neighborhood is very close to all the sights but also is and feels very safe. It was very nice to be able to come back there at the end of a long site-seeing day in DC must recommend to those with families.   • My husband and I took our 12 year old daughter for winter break to DC and we loved staying at this place. The unit was very clean, nicely furnished, comfortable and warm (very important as it was snowing outside and we enjoyed getting home that much more). The unit was very close to all the sights and we walked and walked all over the city. There are tons of restaurants to try out and Good Eats Burger place was our favorite. We visited this flea market which was pretty cool and ended up buying some photos to take home with us as souvenirs. If you walk out of the front door and walk to the end of the street, you will see the Capitol building which is about five minutes away and being able to walk to everything was just what we were looking for (we don’t do that down in Charlotte a lot) The area was very nice and the people we met were always very helpful. We have really enjoyed this place and it has exceeded our expectation. This was the first time renting through VRBO and we definitely got our money worth and we had once in a lifetime vacation with our daughter

  • Instead of crowding our small apartment with out-of-town in-laws, we used this condo as our guesthouse and our in-laws absolutely loved it. The place is so nice and the location so convenient to everything the Hill has to offer (and we know, because we live here), that we ended up inviting ourselves to "their" house more often than coming to our house! Thank you so much for offering this wonderful solution to the perennial problem of where to house guests. We will never do it any other way.
