Anglers’ Inn at Matlacha is a unique little four room Inn, in a quiet residential setting adjoining a community park. Located on a direct access saltwaer canal you can fish right from the 100 foot dock or take your boat out into the Gulf of Mexico. Each room is unique, the Captains quarters has a queen bed, oak furnishings and flat screen TV. The Backwater Bungalow also has a queen bed and is decorated in colorful Matlacha style. The Red Fish room has two single beds and is perfect for two fishermen or golfers. The Snook suite has a queen size Murphy bed and is pet friendly. The cottage can accommodate up to 6, 2 full beds in the bed room and a pull out sofa in the living room. It also has a full kitchen.
The fishing is terrific, noted as one of the best fishing areas in North America, Pine Island Sound and Matlacha Pass are abundant with Snook, Red Fish, Trout and much more. Matlacha is also noted as the heart of Florida’s “Creative Coast” with many art galleries, shops and restaurants. People come from around the world to enjoy this quaint little village and the local artistry and its friendly atmosphere.
Once you arrive with a few supplies you can put away your car and stroll a few hundred yards and visit wonderful shops, galleries and restaurants or just relax on your own private Lanai. All rooms have a small kitchenette to prepare an afternoon or late night snack.
If you do decide to explore, Pine Island is only 2 miles west, Fort Myers and Sanibel beaches are 35-45 minute drive. In neighboring Cape Coral you can be at the Splash Park or Mike Greenwell’s batting cages and go cart track in less then 10 minutes.
There is challenging golf, from 3 to 30 minutes there are over 15 courses. The Ft Myers airport is 40 minutes away. So there is plenty to do and see but most people come to relax and enjoy the peaceful setting.
