We had a great family reunion vacation here last year and recommend this home highly. Elegant turn of the century home in a beautiful setting. Lovely flower gardens, large yard, great views. Grand covered porch facing the ocean, fireplaced grand living room with french doors leading to a screened in porch overlooking rose garden and arbor. A little piece of heaven!
Owner response:Great family vacation home! Also, a great place for a wedding!
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing, girls getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Our whole family enjoyed this beautiful summer home on the ocean. The house and grounds are just as beautiful as the pictures. The house was clean and comfortable. Lovely antique furnishings with interesting art work and decorations. A wonderful large covered porch facing the ocean is where we spent a lot of our time watching the occassional lobster boat or pleasure boat pass by. Moonrise over the ocean was awesome! The owner was professional and provided detailed written information about the house and local restaurants, attractions, etc. We really enjoyed Pekin's Cove with it's quaint shops and restaurants, along with walking the Maginal Way. Ogunquit Beach and York Beach were just a short drive. York Beach was the easiest to find a parking spot and there were more kid oriented attractions in the Short Sands area of York Beach. It was very nice not to be staying in a congested area like the beach, as we found it much more relaxing to come home from the beach to this great house with large yard for the kids to play. They even have a shuffle board court! I would recommend this property to friends and relatives, as well as anyone else looking for a memorable and unique vacation home.

This lovely home is one of the most beautful and special vacation homes we have ever stayed at. Plenty of room for the whole family. Beautiful wood floors throughout. Wonderfully furnished with antiques. Spectacular setting on the ocean. Lots of diferrent flowering plants and gardens. The home was clean and fully equiped. Well maintained home and grounds. I would highly recommend this vacation home to friends and relatives. The owners have a book in the house with brochures for all the local attractions, recreational activities, restaurants, historic homes open to the public, etc. We loved shopping and dining at Perkins Cove and walking the Marginal Way. York Beach was great, too. The kids loved Goldenrod's homemade salt water taffy and enjoyed the zoo at York's Wild Kingdom. My husband loves playing golf and the Cliff Country Club was withkn a half mile of the home. Lots of other things to do in the area, too. We would love to come back again next year!

I rented Fairbourne Green for a family reunion with my four siblings and their spouses (10 adults). The house and our vacation were wonderful. The house has a wrap-around porch with views of the ocean for morning coffee and reading the NY Times, a screened porch that served as an art studio for my sister-in-law, a large kitchen and dining room for preparing and sharing meals, a comfortable living room for reading and talking, enough bedrooms for everyone and a large lawn perfect for bocce ball. The house has only one shower (the second bathroom has a claw-footed tub), but with early and late risers there wasn't too much inconvenience. The house had everything we needed, was clean, well-maintained and close to activities--golf, shopping, antiquing, day trips to Portland and Portsmouth and nearby villages, but a car is essential. The owner was professional and the property really is as lovely as the photos.

Many thanks to the most gracious owners, who made our wedding on the ocean possible. The owners are very accommodating and answered every question promptly. The security deposit was returned quickly within 3 days after the end of our stay. Fairbourne is a most beautiful and clean home, full of interesting antiques, in a quiet location. All necessary amenities to cook and entertain are at the house. We enjoyed the soft well water for showers (good water pressure) and also for drinking. The hugh bath tub was used many times. The front- and backyard offered beautiful seasonal flowers and just invited you to spend the day on the porch in tranquillity, watching the ocean or fishing of the rocks. For other activities a short 10 minute-drive brought you to the towns, restaurants and beaches of York and Ogunquit. We do highly recommend the house and hope to stay there again sometime.
