HEAVEN ON EARTH!!
Casa Chic is a luxurious 5 bedroom, 5 bathroom beachy chic villa located within Rancho San Eric right on one of the most private spectacular Caribbean white sand beaches in the world. This villa is ideal for families, large groups, weddings, or just an intimate romantic getaway. Perfect for entertaining. Casa Chic is situated in the cool palms right next to the Sian Ka'an Biosphere which is a protected 1.3 million acre reserve where wildlife are free to live in their natural habitat.
This villa was built palapa style in keeping with the mayan theme. Casa Chic has a beachy jungle feel and it has a divine ambience day or night. Continental breakfast is included. A private chef can be arranged on demand. There is an upscale first class restaurant, Hechizo, right within the grounds of Rancho San Eric practically right next door. For a more casual dining experience stroll along the beach to one of the candle lit beach bars or restaurants where you can still have your feet in the sand. This is a very peaceful secluded beach at night. However if you want action just go down the beach and take in some live salsa or hip ambience and live dj action. Tulum is an eco chic environment with many yoga and wellness facilities and upscale spa treatments. The town of Tulum is only a 10 minute drive away. Tulum has a vast variety of different cuisines and night life but is still a very authentic Mexican town. There are several 1st class golf courses nearby and plenty of excursions for family outings. Go fly fishing in the lagoon, birdwatching or go for a boat ride and just take in the wonder of it all. Take a drive to Punta Allen, a sleepy little mexican fishing village at the end of the reserve and take in a fresh lobster meal. The Tulum ruins are close by and chichenitza and coba ruins are within driving distance as well. The fresh water cenotes are a must see! Once a year the giant turtles lay their eggs right on the beach in front of Casa Chic. Having travelled the globe extensively we have never in our lives come across a beach so breathtaking. This truly is a magical place!

We just got back from an amazing trip with eight of our best friends. Casa Chic was more than we had hope for. The house is spectacular and the surroundings are a treasure. The owners have put together the perfect combination of Mayan traditional style and sleek (chic) design that creates a mood of absolute luxury without sacrificing the intimate connection to the landscape and jungle that define a real, local experience. The five bedrooms with en suite bathrooms provide the space and privacy needed to live comfortably with a large group of friends. The beach is heavenly and the shaded beach beds are truly decadent. The large kitchen afforded us the opportunity to cook lavish meals in the evenings which gave way to a series of dinner parties with a view of the moon rise over the sea just about the time that the wine began to flow. It was a perfect week in paradise, con coco. If you have ever wanted to spend time on a perfect beach with in an amazing house with a delightful but unobtrusive staff, Casa Chic is the place. We will definitely be booking it again for next year.

We had an absolutely incredible stay at Casa Chic and already want to go back! The house is absolutely gorgeous, not to mention the incredible stretch of beach that it sits on. The house is indulgently luxurious, yet feels authentically Mayan - very unique. It maintains local architecture and style, while still providing 'comforts from home.' We loved everything about it. We have been to Mexico several times, and Tulum is by far our favorite destination. You simply can't beat the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Ocean and that soft white sand! We loved walking up and down the beach, exploring all the charming boutique hotels and restaurants. If you are sick of all-inclusive's and are looking for some real character and beauty, this is the place to come. We ate incredible food, the weather was spectacular, we had peace and quiet, and truly, couldn't have asked for more. We highly recommend Casa Chic and envy anyone who gets the chance to stay there! Enjoy!

Over the years, I’ve been fortunate enough to visit Mexico numerous times and stay in different resorts and villas for each vacation. Never, in my 15 years of Mexico trips have I ever experienced such a magical and relaxing destination as Casa Chic in Tulum. From the moment you walk through the jungle leading up to the home, you know you’ve found a unique piece of paradise. The home is visually breathtaking – everything from the palapa-style architecture and serene mood lighting to the swinging bar chairs and luxurious furniture and finishings. Yet nothing seems out of place, as the decor and styling were obviously chosen to mirror authentic Mexican culture and respect the natural surroundings. For example, the wood steps leading up to the villa are cut away in several places to allow the palms to grow through. These qualities make you feel like you’ve escaped from the typical tourist destination and found a lavish hidden retreat. The beach and ocean are spectacular. You have your own row of private beach beds that are within a stone’s throw of both the ocean and the home’s kitchen, the white sand expands for miles in either direction and the turquoise water is warm and free of debris. I’ve never been much of a swimmer, but I spent quality time in the ocean this time around, not missing an over-chlorinated pool for more than a fleeting moment. The service staff frequenting the grounds are friendly and helpful. They are obviously passionate about the property and know Tulum well. If you decide to venture out to explore the surrounding areas (which you should) the caretakers will make sure to advise you on the best restaurants, bars and recreational destinations. We enjoyed numerous five-star quality meals throughout Tulum and stunning views from rooftops in the Sian Kaan Reserve. If you have any sense of adventure and are looking for a memorable getaway that exposes you to the true beauty and tranquility that Mexico has to offer, I wholeheartedly recommend Casa Chic. You’ll have exposure to authentic Mexican luxury combined with an unforgettable experience. Following your vacation, you’ll be inspired to write a similarly glowing review. I will be back for sure!! Grande Vacaciones!

Where do I start.... I spend a lot of time travelling for both work and pleasure and have been to approximately 30 countries and this place takes the cake. Tulum is not your typical Mexico holiday. The white sand beaches stretch as far north and south as the eye can see, the water is Carribean blue and palm trees stretch up and down the beach. Thankfully there are no all inclusive mega hotels on the beach; just cool little boutique hotels, restaurants and beach bars. The food at many of the restaurants is outstanding; I had some of the best meals that I have had in a longtime. Casa Chic itself is simply magical. This place is directly on the beach, when you step out of the kitchen you are in the sand. I have stayed at luxury homes in the past that claimed they were on the beach, but this is the real deal. Views of the ocean from the house are outstanding, there are queen size beach beds on the beach with umbrellas and the beach is all yours. I am definitely coming back and would highly recommend Casa Chic.

Casa Chic is the epitome of paradise. Everything about this private beachfront property radiates sheer elegance and the decor sets the perfect ambience for a tropical paradise. There are many local restaurants close by offering a wide variety of cuisine, and the supermarket was only a short drive away for the time we prepared dinner in the amazingly well equipped gourmet kitchen. I would recommend this 'experience' to anyone wanting a taste of paradise at its best. I cannot wait to return.

Other reviews have covered the particulars of this amazing house very accurately so I will not reiterate. The bottom line is that this is one of the most beautiful houses and location's imaginable. My family has visited twice and I have not written a review because I frankly hate to see it become so popular that we can no longer go there! Since the owner and caretakers are so very lovely, I have to tell the world of this glorious place out of respect for them. If you want a quiet place in heaven - go here NOW!

The little ones adore looking at their tulum photo albums...our family, three generations, experienced an absolutely dreamy week at casa chic. For a grandparent's landmark birthday celebration, the five bedroom/working kitchen/great room/dedk-to-beach layout could not have better suited us, from toddlers on up. The website description of casa chic IS indeed accurate! And hui and stefan and their wonderful boys were super neighbors. Re dinner, we ate at hechizo restaurant (for cuisine and ambiance, a must) and enjoyed fully (!) the cooking of local food experts sergio, daisy and magaly. Visits to the mayan sites close by and a day-trip to chitzen itza added immensely to the simple pleasures of casa chic: swimming, running, reading and building sand temples. Cambridge MA, Winter 2011

We were lucky enough to have visited Casa Chic with 4 other couples. Taking time away from our crazy lives, Casa Chic was the perfect get-a-away. Every room is self contained with an en-suite so you always had plenty of privacy. you never felt like there were 10 people under the same roof. We absolutely loved it there. We got to experience many of the incredible restaurants and bars that line the amazing beach. I have to say that my favorite evenings were the ones spent around Casa Chic's incredible dining room table. We all got involved in preparing for our memorable candle lit meals. Those are memories I will cherish forever. Dining and laughing for hours and then retiring to a beautiful room for the evening. Paradise. We look forward to returning one day.

My husband, 19 year old son and I spent two weeks at Casa Chic just after Christmas. During our first week, we were joined by family -- including my mother, brothers, sisters, and several young neices and nephews. Freddie and Pedro (the not so scarry "security" guard -- see below) took brilliant care of us, lighting the grill when our own efforts failed, fetching coconuts from tree tops for the children, serving breakfast, and sweeping up after countless small, sandy feet. The house was beautiful and just roomy enough for all ten (eleven?) of us. During the second week, we were joined by three other couples -- all veteran travelers and Yucatan regulars. Again, the house accommodated us all comfortably. Though we generally had a chef in to cook (ask Hui for recommendations...), the kitchen was well outfitted. Linens were of top quality and replaced with fresh supplies daily. The outdoor living spaces were glorious. We especially enjoyed breakfasts and cocktails on the deck. We had no problems at all with mosquitoes or vermin, though we did enjoy occasional visits from a friendly iguana. I am glad to hear that more reading lights have now been installed in the living room but appreciate the need to be sensitive to nesting turtles. The Tulum area is truly a beautiful but fragile environment. (Note: Having had some prior experience in the Yucatan, we all brought headlamps for use outside --walking the beach, for example -- in the evenings. And the children had a blast using them for sand crabbing, too!) In all, it was a glorious retreat! We are grateful to Freddie, Pedro, Hui and Stephan for their hospitality and generosity.
Owner response:we would like to thank you, ellen, and all of our guests who wrote such glowing reviews of their stay at casa chic. it is very thoughtful of all of you to take time out of your busy lives to do this. it means a lot to us. we travelled the globe extensively to find the perfect beach and place to build our dream home tropical retreat and once we discovered tulum beach we knew we had found paradise. we love casa chic very much and we are so happy to be able to share it with such appreciative people. we built casa chic as a family retreat and we love our home very much. it makes us so happy that so many of our guests have enjoyed being there as much as we do. tulum is a very exotic spiritual tranquil place and it attracts very special people and we have been lucky enough to have these people rent our home. we have had many guests email us and tell us about their stay and share their stories with us about how much they loved the area and we love to hear about their fun times and adventures. we are going down there soon with our whole family and we are very excited however for now we are enjoying the stories from everyone who loves to share. thank you all so very much. we welcome you all back any time and we feel blessed to have had you as our guests.

My stay at Casa Chic was the best tropical holiday getaway ever! Casa Chic is the most amazing blend of a Mayan palapa with chic tropical classy elegance. The ambience there is beyond what I ever imagined. I expected it would be nice having seen the photos but it is even better when you get there. The design of the house suited our needs exactly. The glass sliding doors on the whole house open up to the jungle on one side and the beach on the other with a large deck off of the living area that blends right into the house with very comfortable furniture and a hammock that I could have stayed in forever. There was always a perfect balmy breeze off of the ocean that made cooking, dining and just hanging out very pleasurable. The kitchen is set up perfectly for entertaining and cooking. There are three different dining areas to choose from each with its own tropical charm. The bedrooms were all very similar and very open with large windows and spectacular ocean or jungle views. One of the coolest things about Casa Chic is the lighting...crystal chandeliers swaying in the tropical breeze and very cool mood lighting that creates a fantastic ambience. All of the furniture was cozy, comfortable and clean. The beach is the nicest beach I have ever seen and it goes on for miles and miles. I ran the beach every morning. The sand is like baking powder and the ocean is the most beautiful turquoise blue imaginable and the swimming was fantastic! One of the best parts about this place is that it does not feel like a manufactured holiday like most of the larger resorts. We walked down the beach every day and tried a different beach bar or restaurant, each having its own beachy character and unique ambience. La Zebra has great sugarcane Mojitos, Be Tulum has fantastic fish tacos and Posada Margarita has a great Italian dining experience. The most amazing dining experience however was Hechizo Restaurant which was almost right next door to Casa Chic. Stefan and Hui, the property managers for Casa Chic, own and operate Hechizo and it was first class all the way. The water melon goat cheese balsamic pine nut salad and the scallop truffle pasta were to die for. We also dined at the Argentinian Steakhouse in downtown Tulum and had a delicious tenderloin with gorgonzola sauce. Stefan and Hui, the property managers, were there for everything we needed and Freddie, the caretaker, was the best. Also, Pedro, the night time security guard was a very nice guy too.
