This lake house takes your breath away when you enter the front door and catch a glimpse of the lake through the 3 picture windows in the living room. Set down your bag of groceries on the granite counter in the kitchen and go out on the lanai to catch the breeze off the lake and see the sailboats and jet skis crossing the water. Ah, you made it to the lake!
The three comfortable bedrooms and two full bathrooms offer plenty of room for a party of six. One room has a queen bed, one has a double, and one has two twin beds and each room has a TV with remote control. The house is perfect in any season - in summer you can swim off the dock or the beach. In the off-season the two fireplaces are a lot of fun. There is a stone fireplace in the living room and also an outdoor fireplace in the patio area. Both are very beautiful and will be part of great memories. The living room has a nice 46" HDTV and comfy seating. Let us know if you are going to bring your own boat or rent one and we will move our boat to give you plenty of room. We have a boat ramp and a nice, new floating dock. Or ask us about renting one of our boats.

Andy grew up in South Carolina and knows all about Lake Murray, fishing, and duck hunting. He loves boating and loves being a tour guide. Bring your own boat, rent one of ours or let Captain Andy take you fishing or for a ride on our pontoon boat.
Why the Owner Chose Lexington
We bought this vacation home on Lake Murray because we love boating and swimming in fresh lake water. Going to the lake is such a stress reliever! The fishing is great - the bass fishing is great in the spring! You can catch catfish and bream and perch right off the dock. And yes, we have a large cast iron pan for fryin' them up.
The Unique Benefits of this Cottage
The outdoor fireplace and the patio are so relaxing and the porch is a cozy place for your morning coffee or a cool drink. The living room is very large with a vaulted ceiling and 3 big picture windows that bring the lake right into the room! In the evenings you can curl up on the couch and read from our library or watch HDTV or play games (we have lots of games!). And the strolls around the neighborhood are great!

We stayed at Snug HArbor for 5 nights......we absolutley loved it!!! Andy and Kathy are great host and have gone above and beyond when it comes to the house. It had everything we needed plus some. The house was very clean and decorated beautifully. The fishing was excellant from the floating dock and the neighbors were very friendly. My mom is 84 and she got around in the house very well. Andy and Kathy answered all the questions we had and we knew if we needed anything they would be right there. I would recommend this house to anyone looking for a nice, clean, relaxing vacation rental!

My 14 yr old daughter loves the hammock, my 13 yr old son loves the ping pong table and both me and my husband agree that the outdoor fireplace is fabulous.

Upon entering Snug Harbor, my family instantly fell in love with it. Walking into the house to see the magnificent view of Lake Murray instantly lifted our spirits after a long drive from Virginia and visits with family. It was strongly evident the owners, Andy and Kathy, consider it a home and not just a rental unit. With the many amenities, calming tranquility of the lake, and proximity to Lexington, all our wants were met. All the bedrooms were fantastic; the master bedroom, with its lake view, access to the outside sitting area and fireplace, provided a calming respite after a day of busy festivities. We did use the inside living area fireplace which provided a cozy feel to a family chat and reminiscing with our kids about our old South Carolina days. Thank you for having the fireplace prepped for use! We made much-use of the veranda adjoining the living area. Enjoying coffee while absorbing that spectacular view was a grand start to the day. The time went by so fast just taking in the beauty of the lake.Having experienced very mixed results with VRBO rentals, I have much skepticism about the quality of the properties; however, Kathy and Andy had reset the bar as this home is beyond impeccable. They could easily give a lesson to many VRBO property owners. The only regret was due to family events we were unable to fully enjoy the lake or take in more of the peaceful atmosphere. My wife, within the first hour, said we would have to stay here again so that is a practical given. Thank you Kathy and Andy for providing us this opportunity to enjoy your ‘home.’

We enjoyed this house so much. From the second you walk in you feel like you are home in such a comfortable well appointed home. The location is perfect and access to it very easy. Great neighbors on both sides. It is a pleasure to find owners who describe their property correctly and were there to help in anyway they could. Don't miss this house if you love Lake Murray!

I loved, loved, loved.....did I say LOVED!!!! Snug Harbor. About two years ago, we rented another house on the lake that we fell in love with, but due to issues with neighbors not wanting the homeowner to rent the house, the house was not available to rent anymore. We thought we would never find another place to be able to compare it to, but now we have. Kathy and Andy are the best! They both answered any questions we had and were so accomodating. Thank's for sharing Snug Harbor with us......we hope we get to see you again in the future!!

Andy and Kathy were the "Best" hosts. We felt at home as soon as we walked in! They thought of absolutely everything and the place was immaculate with all the comforts of home. The neighbors were so friendly and kind and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. In fact, when Andy came to show us how to use the boat, we felt like he was visiting at our house! How great is that!!! The lake was so beautiful and we even found our own little island to have lunch and swim. In the evening, we would sit in the wonderful great room with the lights out and watch the full moon shining across the water and the boats with their lights traveling up and down the lake. In the early morning hours, we would sit on the little deck outside the living room drinking coffee, watching the humming birds and the resident ducks come in for breakfast. What more can we say--you have to see it for yourself!!!

I'd love to leave a review saying how horrible it was - to discourage other folks from renting, but I can't! I jusdt don't want other people to know about this gem! Truly, it was wonderful. Andy and Kathy have thought of just about everything - and we felt truly at home. Andy met us when we checked in and we could have spent the next 4 hours with him, having a beer on the porch or lake! We took the pontoon boat out for two days - fabulosity! My son caught catfish off the dock (and brim off one of the islands). Great selection of books and board games - we didn't utilize either, but nice to know it was available! The neighbors are wonderful - very nice. They were concerned when we were out for a long time on the boat - they helped us blow up our tube - it was nice to know if we'd needed something, we could call on them! The water on the lake is nice - I've been in some lakes in SC where it was just gross. I didn't mind swimming in this one! We live in Charleston - so it was just a quick drive for us. People "up there" couldn't believe we left such a beautiful place to come to the lake. Andy said it best when we were leaving - "You're leaving paradise to go back to paradise!" We will come back!

I have stayed at other vacation homes, and none made us feel so at home. We arrived early, and were greeted with a smile. The home was clean, and had everything we needed to feel at home. We only met with Andy, and he was so nice, and told us little things too look for and do. We are moving to the area, and yet we hope to stay in the house again for little weekend get aways. Great location, very clean and very well maintained with attention to details. We especially loved the outdoor fireplace and great supply of reading material. The owner was extremely helpful and offered boat rides, freshly caught fish, and helpful suggestions for our jet skis. I would recommend this property to anyone and suggest you get a Vienna Chicago hot dog at the newly opened Water Dog Grill!
