"We spent most of the time in the water because temps were 95-100 degrees all week. We had absolutely everything we needed--except a soup ladle. It was amazing for all 19 of us to be together. The home is beautiful. We caught some fish from the pier and some from our boat. We did lots of tubing. Thank you for your gracious hospitality. "Did you find this review helpful? We were looking for something to accomodate our whole family consisting of 10 adults and 6 children ages 1 1/2 to 10. We also wanted something on the lake and not too far from the Milwaukee area. We found that in this location. This is the first time we have all gone on a vacation together, and I was very hopeful that we would have a good time. The Humphrey's home and boathouse was the perfect solution. The weather cooperated completely and the children NEVER said they were bored. The children fished from the dock all day long and caught many small and a few larger fish. They also went boating, tubing, water sking, swimming, and paddle boarding. When everyone took a minute to eat, they were able to enjoy eating at the two big tables on the porch overlooking the water. With many hands in the kitchen, there was room for all. The kitchen was well equipped also. At night we made s'mores with the wood burning pit near the water. When we finally all fell into bed at night, everyone had their space. One of our daughters and her husband stayed in the boathouse. The bathroom was quite small, but they are not big people. She said it was a very romantic setting. We never left the house, as everyone was so relaxed and enjoying their surroundings. We had a fantastic vacation! Thank you Anne and Jim!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, age 55+, girls getaway.

We had a family wedding to attend to in Green Lake. The hotel rooms were very pricey for one night. We have a large family, some married with children , some just married, some still at home. I thought it would be nice to have everyone stay together and make a mini vacation out of it. Our hosts were extremely kind and keep a beautiful well maintained & decorated 3 story house on the lake with a beautiful view. We all had a delightful time. Our hosts have thought of everything from band aids to toys for the little ones. There is something here for every age. We would highly recommend this beautiful property with a manicured flower filled yard over looking the lake. Thank you !Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, age 55+, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thanks Dawn for your kind comments. You left it in great shape and did a great job of recycling. It was a pleasure to have you.

My husband and I stayed in the boat house at this beautiful location this past Memorial Day weekend. It was absolutely one of the most enjoyable weekends we've had in a long time and we will definitely return. The boat house is set somewhat over the lake with wide windows all across the lake side, providing a breathtaking view of beautiful Green Lake. There are many things to do in the area or nothing at all if you just want a restful place to enjoy a good book. Jim and Annie Humphrey have taken great pains in providing their guests with games, books, fishing poles, grills, and other amenities too numerous to mention. It is clear to any visitor that the home has been lovingly cared for and thoughtfully designed. The home is spotless and the grounds are lovely. The main house is spacious, beautifully decorated and perfect for a large family get-together with separate sleeping accomodations that provide every family needed privacy. Without hesitation, I can recommend this place to anyone looking for a beautiful place to relax and view a spectacular sunset at the end of a fun filled day.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, age 55+, girls getaway.

This house is amazing!! While the lake offers plenty to do, if it's raining, there is room to roam indoors. We've stayed here in both winter and summer - this is the perfect retreat. The pool table is a hit, along with the hot tub. Very kid friendly.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, age 55+, tourists without a car, girls getaway.

Thank you so much for a wonderful vacation week in your Green Lake home. We loved your beautiful and spacious home on Green Lake! The boathouse is charming and gave us extra space for our daughter and her friend. We appreciated your beautiful landscaping down by the water and the chair on the dock. We thought the water was perfect and we had many sunny and perfect lake days. The kids loved the pool table in the game room and making S'mores! We hope to be back this summer! Thanks!Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, families with teenagers, age 55+, tourists without a car, girls getaway.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1996
About the owner: My husband was the general contractor for our home and took it over as a shell and completed it. Much thought went into the building of this home. It contains many outstanding features. We have enjoyed our time here on the lake with our three children, their spouses and nine grandchildren. We participated in all the water sports this fine lake affords. I have especially enjoyed gardening and tending to my perennial gardens and flower pots. Our road and the other country roads are especially great for bicycling which we also enjoy. I play tennis w/ a great group in Ripon.
Why the Owner Chose Green Lake:
Initially, we had a cottage on this site and it was easily accessible from our home in Illinois. We chose Green Lake for its excellent water quality, great family and sport fishing, country roads for bicycling and small town atmosphere. We found Wisconsin people to be very friendly and the Packer phenomenon intriguing. We have enjoyed this rural non congested
family vacating and ownership for 35 years. It offered a wide variety of winter activities as well.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
There are so many different areas one can socialize with family and/or friends or one can get off by themselves for solitude and quiet. It offers a wide variety of activities during any season of the year
