I stayed here with my husband and our 2 young children and it really was a fabulous apartment. It was in a perfect location - close to the shops, restaurants and bars, not too far from the beach and also very close to public transport for sightseeing in downtown Chicago. It was great to have such a well equipped apartment which made it like home from home and very relaxing. John, the owner, was very friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. I highly recommend this apartment if you are in Chicago for business or vacation.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

This apartment was a perfect place for us to stay, while visiting our new infant grandson and his parents right down the street! Bed was very comfortable, and kitchen well equipped for cooking meals. Pull out couch in living area was also comfortable for our grown son for a few nights. John was very helpful. Great area with restaurants and shops nearby. Prairie Joes and Foodstuffs and Home Made Pizza place! Small yard area would be very pleasant to spend time in when the weather is warmer! We would stay there again, and also would definately recommend it to others!Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

Place has fantastic decor. I had to spend a week there working and 10000 better then any hotel. Very nice short walk to the town. Owner is fantastic. The kitchen is beautiful. If I had to say anything bad...and its not even bad is the chairs in the kitchen are uncomfortable...mind you...I was working all day in front of a computer there so anything would be uncomfortable....given the choice I would go there again. Also...its close to the path that you can walk/run on as well as the lake 1 mile away....great location.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Henry - Thanks for the kind review. We really enjoyed the samples from your company Uniquely Greek. The feta spreads were fantastic and you'll have to let me know where we can get them here. (Anyone reading this review needs to try these delicious products!) I don't about agree about the chairs - you were working too many hours and sitting too long! John

My wife and I were visiting our son at Northwestern during an extremely hot & humid July 4th week. The apartment, Casita Reva, was smartly decorated in a Southwestern theme. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom and kitchen clean and, best of all, the air conditioning worked beautifully. Casita Reva is located very close to old Evanston where there are was a fantastic bakery (try the Wildcat scone), an ice cream shop with delicious gelato and several very good restaurants: Jilly's, Praire Joes, Hota and many others. There was ample parking behind the apartment for our son's car. John and his wife were gracious hosts and told us of a number of good places to eat and visit. It is only a few blocks to walk to the Metra to catch the express train into Chicago. If you run, the apartment is located near the parkway adjacent to McCormick Ave. I took it for about a 5 mile run (watch for the deer). I also ran about 2 miles on Lincoln Ave to the shore at Northwestern. We were looking for a hideout to relax for a week and Casita Reva was superb.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

had a very pleasant experience at Casita Reva. Everything we were told about the apartment, location, facilities, etc. was quite accurate and we certainly would recommend this property. Only inconvenience--a minor one is poor lighting in the apartment. It was a bit dark inside. An additional small TV in the bedroom would be appreciated. However, these inconveniences were clearly outdone by the apartment's decor, neighborhood, neighbors and John's great disposition and willingness to accomodate our needs. We hope to do it again next year,Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.

We stayed in the apartment for the month of May. It was a great location - near shops and restaurants and the Metra for trips to Chicago and near our family in Wilmette. The bed was very comfortable and the washer & dryer were free to use. The owner was very nice and accomodating. There was a parking place for our car which was a big plus. The only negatives were that other people in the building occasionally were doing laundry very late at night and the noise from that made it difficult to sleep.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, sightseeing.
Owner response: Hey Priscilla ---Just wanted you to know that we are limiting laundry time till 10 pm so you won't have that issue in the future.

We grew up in Evanston and came back to settle our mother's estate. This apt. was a blessing; cozy and decorated with charm, class and color. It's been impeccably stocked from the French Press coffeemaker in the kitchen to the extra pair of magnifying glasses tucked away in drawer. The bed is comfortable and having a washer and dryer handy is another plus. Harrison Street is a great location and convenient to absolutely everything. Had the weather been warmer, we'd have grilled in the back yard, but will save that for next time!Recommended for: People with disabilities, families with young children, age 55+, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

About the owner: I'm a lifelong North Shore resident who has a passion for the area and wants to share it with guests. We choose the 'off the beaten path' accommodations when traveling ourselves and we wanted to offer that option to others visiting our community.
Why the Owner Chose Evanston:
We designed and built this unit with the short term traveler in mind. We share a love for the Southwest and Latin America and that interest is reflected in our home.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
We enjoy the neighborhood and our favorite way to start the day is to take a jog to the lake and then grab a cup of coffee or breakfast at one of the nearby coffee shops.
Ryan Field and Northwestern football is only a short walk away and the nearby Bluestone is our favorite spot for apres game..
