“Wonderful wedding on the water!” Reviewed 12 December 2011 This is the most fabulous house! We chose to hire the house from Mark and Kim for our "wedding weekend" in November. From the out set they were so helpful in arranging times for us to go and see the property so we could plan our weekend around the Windsor and Eton area. From check in time to check out Mark and Kim were always on hand to help, advise and look after us. Being at the end of the phone if we needed anything at all. Boathouse 19 itself is an absolutely stunning property in such a majestic location. I can imagine that everyone who visits just doesnt want to leave. It has all the quality of a 5 star hotel with the luxury of feeling that you are in your own home. We arrived to a fully stocked fridge and larder, spotlessly clean house with everything in perfect working order. We enjoyed lunch from the ingredients left for us overlooking the Thames and Windsor Castle from the deck at Boathouse 19 and then entertained our family the night before the wedding with a "Captains Cocktail Reception" on the Friday night. It was just perfect. My family all then stayed here with me and we got ourselves ready for the main event on Saturday afternoon! The absolute highlight was returning from church for a short comfort break before the reception to find that in the short time whilst we were gone, Mark and Kim had staged the house with little vases of flowers, copious tealights and candles, beautiful scents and had laid the deck like an outside lounge - it was just stunning! We watched our guests walk across Windsor Bridge to the reception and then joined them after a few pictures with Windsor Castle in the background! We retuned after the party to a beauitiful wedding gift from Mark and Kim and then we woke up Sunday morning to the sound of the bells at St Georges Chapel and enjoyed fresh croissants from the bakery whilst we got packed up! We all agreed that Boathouse 19 and the church ceremony itself were the most special and memorable parts of our very lovely weekend and that's saying something as the whole celebration from start to finissh was just incredibly perfect! Mark and Kim are quite frankily the perfect hosts - thank you so much....Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Not only does it enjoy some of THE BEST views from a location perspective, it has everything you could want for a relaxing luxury stay in Eton and Windsor. The owners are so caring and attentive to your every need, and leave you to relax and enjoy their amazing property. Can't say enough, or do justice in words. So very very impressed. JandersDean London Reviewer 4 reviews “This is simple THE best location and accommodation in Windsor & Eton” Reviewed 9 September 2010 We recently stayed at Mark & Kim's Boathouse19 apartment, and from the very first experience until the very last, we were simply blown away. Not only is the location first class and without any other even coming close, the apartment is by far one of the best we have stayed in anywhere in the world. Mark & Kim's renovations, decorating and cateing have ensured that everything is thought of. We used this as our "home base" for a wedding weekend at The Waterside Inn in nearby Bray and constantly had family and friends enjoying the hammck and outdoor deck area on the river - feeding the swans, being the envy of tourists passing on the opposite rive bank, views of the castle - you really feel like you own the town in this place. Mark & Kim's hospitality was second to none. Cupboards stocked, farmhouse breakfast delivered in the mornings, music, wireless, private boat, amazingly clean, deep bath, exposed beams, Molton Brown, fresh flowers, everything everything everything was thought of....and just in case it wasn't, they were always only a phone call away to ensure that it was. These guys are super stars in the making if they decide to expand into another property, and we would recommend any wedding party or couple taking this venue as their base over any other in the area. We'll be back time and time and time again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Thanks Mark & Kim, Wow, what a great way to start our 5 week trip to England. Coming from Colorado, we found Eton to be charming, but the Boathouse was simply a stunning place to stay. It is beautifully located right on the water, very close to all the amenities and attractions and a 2 minute walk to the station for a pleasant ride into London. Mark met us on the way to the house and got us settled in, explaining all the features and functionality the house offered. The kitchen was well stocked with a variety of premium quality goods to enable us to relax and get settled in without rushing out to the store. The house was very clean and featured fantastic modern conveniences including solid internet access. Our 8 year old boy, loved the house, but specifically the dock where he quickly made friends with the swans and ducks and enjoyed watching the boats from hammock. Mark and Kim were extremely helpful and attentive to any questions we had about the area or the property itself. They were gracious enough to take us out for a trip up the Thames on their boat that is docked behind the house. All these little extras really spoiled us for the rest of our trip, and nothing else we stayed at compared to Boathouse 19. We are definitely looking forward to a return visit next year. Thanks again! The MillersRecommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Thank you for all your kind comments, we are so glad you and your family enjoyed your stay. We both look forward to seeing you all again soon. Regards Mark and Kim.

We came from Spain and stayed a whole week with a 7-year-old child and had a great time. The house is a gem and, what is more, the views from the house are sublime. From the house, you can almost see what Her Majesty is having for breakfast! Well, at the very least you know when she's in residence or not, simply by looking out of the windows of boathouse 19 at the round tower of Windsor castle. The house is definitely de luxe and very clean. In addition, Kim and Mark (the hosts) make sure you have everything you need. Their welcome pack of top-notch food alllows you to chill as soon as you arrive. Mark even took us out on the Thames in his boat. The house itself is full of the latest mod cons (Sky TV everywhere, Apple Mac with a huge screen, NEF appliances, etc) but is, at the same time, rustic with quirky features that make you stop and wonder. The Admiral's room certainly takes you back to the days when Brtiannia ruled the waves albeit with a huge bath, en-suite shower and other 21st century luxuries (Things that poor old Nelson would not have had). Boathouse 19 is literally a stone's throw away from great pubs, restaurants and shops in Eaton and Windsor centre/castle is no more than five minutes' away on foot. We didn't bother with London, since there was so much to do in the immediate area and one thing that struck us was how friendly the local people were. Boathouse 19 is ideal for a family or a group of friends on a gastronomic tour of the area and with the house's superb location there is no need to hire a car. I could go on but a review should be short and concise. I have no hesistation in recommending the house to anyone.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, tourists without a car.

Thanks Guys! Absolutely brilliant time in the UK. The Fat Duck and Boathouse 19 were undoubtedly the highlights, with outlet shopping and visit to the Victory at Portsmouth close behind. But also other brilliant memories (like getting told off at the Ritz for taking my jacket off in their sauna-like tea room!). Look forward to catching up again. I'll recommend you to anyone that I know is travelling to the UK and looking for the ultimate accommodation. All the very best The TurnersDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

You certainly went above and beyond in making us so welcome and we look forward to staying again on our next trip to the UK. Owner info
Year Purchased: 2006
About the owner: Mark and Kim have owned boathouse19 in Eton, nr Windsor for nearly 7 years. After successfully renting another bespoke Spanish luxury home for several years, and retiring from our disabled bathroom business. we decided to turn boathouse19 into a unique luxury holiday home destination especially suited for family holidays. We love watching peoples faces as they enter the house for the first time, and love listening to peoples comments of wow, wow, and wow, it makes it all worthwhile, especially now after three years of renting, as many of our discerning guests return year on year.
Why the Owner Chose Windsor:
Boathouse19 was originally an old Eton College School boathouse and was used by Eton College School boys for rowing from approx 1890 until approx 1970.
We stumbled upon boathouse19 after we had renovated another property in Bray Berkshire, which Heston Blumanthal from the Fat Duck restaurant decided to put in an offer to buy. With this in mind, we went to see this delightful unique cottage and boat house and immediately fell in love with the location. We made our offer which was accepted, even though the house needed a complete over-hall to bring it back to it's former glory.
Boathouse19 was certainly a once in a lifetime opportunity, as prime waterfront houses with moorings in the centre of Eton and Windsor are normally only reserved for the rich and famous, and not mere mortals like ourselves.
After completely gutting a 1970's rebuild, we set upon trying to make boathouse19 the perfect family holiday home, and after 14 listed building approvals and approx a £500,000 spend, have achieved our goal of creating a bespoke and unique, beautiful home for all our guests to enjoy.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Boathouse19 Eton is unique in every way, and perfectly located on the Eton side of Windsor with commanding views of the River Thames, Windsor Castle, Windsor town and beyond.
Individually styled with reclaimed floors and doors to match the historic ships beams and steels the house oozes charm, and luxury throughout.
Be the envy of everyone in Windsor & Eton, and book a few days or a week, we know you will return again and again.
