Villa Helena, an enchanting, privacy-lover's dream home, is nestled on a hillside just a half mile inland and 1000 feet above the Pacific Ocean in the midst of amazing jungle wildlife: birds of every size and description, wandering troupes of howler and white faced monkeys, curiously deliberate three toed sloths, playful gangs of coati, gentle, brilliantly colored tree frogs, and a dazzling array of tropical butterflies.
This unique and beautiful one bedroom home covers over a thousand square feet of tropical luxury. Sumptuous hardwoods accent the solid construction which also features an expansive cathedral ceiling, terra-cotta floor tiles, Costa Rican Indian artwork, the rich and brilliant textiles of nearby Guatemala, and locally crafted furniture and fixtures. The light and airy home exudes a casual, sophisticated elegance, designed for the comfort and relaxation of all who enter. It is the perfect place to spend your holiday, watching sunsets from the hammocks or sunbathing by the pool.
Just minutes from the village of Dominical and several lovely, nearly deserted beaches, the villa offers the best of all worlds. Stay at home to enjoy the lushly planted gardens full of exotic fruit trees, flowers, hummingbirds and butterflies, walk through the forest alongside the creek to two magical, seasonal natural pools, laze by the pool in the sun or in the shade on one of two stone terraces, have a relaxing massage on your private balcony, and cook to your heart's content in the fully-equipped kitchen.
Or you might choose to wander into town for world class cuisine, local flavor open air restaurants and craft shopping. The beaches and beach activities are plentiful and uncrowded. Take a guided walk through a nearby private nature reserve, visit the stunning 215 foot tall Nauyaca Waterfalls by way of horseback, venture out to Caño Island or out for deep sea fishing.
Our charming manager, Adriano, fluent in English, Spanish, and Italian, will tend to all your needs and answer any questions you may have. He will also help with all reservations and will be happy to make recommendations of additional things to see and do.
Visit Villa Helena during the 'high' season for nearly cloudless 84 degree (F) days and 72 degree (F) nights. Because of the sunny reputation of this time of year and the fact that it coincides with the Northern Hemisphere chilly winters, the 'high' season tends to book up quickly.
The 'low' or 'green' season, especially the months of May, June, July, August and November, is a delightful time to visit, as well. During these shoulder months, our area of Costa Rica has some rain, usually in the mid to late afternoon. These rains usually are gone by five or so in the afternoon, yielding to the most spectacular sunsets imaginable. Generally the nights are clear and packed with stars. Daytime highs are in the lower 80's (F) and the night cools to around 70. Because the rains are starting up, this time of year is marked by increased wildlife activity and a renewed burst of flowers. This is our favorite time of year to visit our little nook of paradise. |
