Beach Front House Near Galveston

Year Purchased: 2005

Why the Owner Chose San Luis Pass

San Luis Pass is a fantastic area, so close to all Galveston has to offer yet significantly quieter and less crowded. It is a family oriented neighborhood with 24 hour on site security.
The 12 mile beach that runs between Surfside and San Luis Pass ends at our community, about 100 yards behind Tuck's Landing, which means less crowds and a more private beach to enjoy.
Thanks to Hurricane Ike we now have a beach directly in front of our house, so there are two beach areas to choose from in our neighborhood.

The Unique Benefits at this Beach House

Owner's Map of San Luis Pass

My husband Marc and I bought Tuck's Landing in 2005. It was built in 2001, and was in great condition although it needed some TLC in the decor and furnishings.
We replaced the all of the furniture - except for the kitchen table, painted the walls, and decorated it, giving it a facelift to create an inviting and more welcoming atmosphere. We have our own personal website with a lot of great information, a link is here on VRBO for your convenience.
It has been a wonderful adventure and we have met some amazing people over the years that have stayed at our house.
In fact - we bought another beach front house last July that we are currently renovating and hope to have it ready for guests this summer.
Tuck's Retreat - coming soon!

    • We book a family 'vacation' every Memorial Day 'week'. This includes all our family members (and friends) who can go. This year our daughter wanted her boys (5 and 1) to experience the ocean and sand. We located Tuck's landing on the internet, liked what we saw and read, so we booked it for a week. It was the most wonderful time. The house has a lovely view and is only steps from the beach and ocean. We fed seagulls off the balcony. With our grandsons we gathered shells and strolled along the beach. Even though we didn't bring fishing equipment (we WILL next time), watching the fisherman and witnessing the huge fish they caught was a thrill. We intended to build a fire on the beach but were so busy, we never got the opportunity. The Tucks Landing house is probably the most well equiped kitchen we have ever visited. We were lacking for not one needed thing! The hot shower downstairs was wonderful for removing the beach from 'castle-builders' and the hose on the balcony was so very handy for the beach strollers who just needed a feet-washing. The inside of the house is decorated very attractively. I guess the only couple situations we wished were different was no TV service in the Master and no internet service. But this is vacation, right? We would strongly urge anyone considering Tuck's Landing to definately give it a try! It was a most relaxing and fun filled time.

    • April 24 - 27, 2009 My fiancee and I had a memorable and restful time at Tuck's Landing!! The pictures posted on the website only show half of what Tuck's Landing has to offer. This is not your typical beach house. It's a warm and inviting home that happens to be on the beach. Thank you Marc and Pam for allowing us to spend our 9 year anniversary at Tuck's Landing!! We hope to come back again.

    • March 21, 2009 This was the second time I stayed a Tucks Landing. As always, I found the beach house to be more than comfortable just like it was home. The view from the deck is awesome during the day and be sure to catch the sunrise. Listening to waves at night with a glass of merlot is very relaxing too. The kitchen is fully equipt and I was able to whip up a gourmet meal for me and my friends, I love that!! Also, I wanna compliment the Tuckey's on the new living room furniture...its very nice!!! I enjoyed myself so much I already have my dates for this comming July booked. Thanks for such great memories, Chad M.

    • A group of friends and I stayed here for the weekend. The house was very inviting, clean and comfortable. It was one of the most relaxing atmospheres I have experienced. The kitchen was big enough for all of us to hang out in while cooking and not feeling crowded. I loved the view as well and was very impressed with the quaters. I would definetly reccomend this beach house to all my family and friends. We are already making plans to go back and I cant wait, the kids are excited to.

    • March 13-20: My family and I had a great time at Tuck's Landing. The weather turned out perfect. The beach house is wonderful...nicely decorated and very clean. We will definitely want to come back again. :) The Galveston/Freeport area is shaping up nicely after IKE. We could tell many people are working hard to get things back to normal. Thanks Marc & Pam!

    • The place was great. Rain on and off the first two days that lead to cool weather. House was nice and neat. The beach out front at low tide was great for finding sand dollors and shells. The mosquitos where really bad. Bring repelent and a fogger to help. We had the beach to ourselves most of the time. Hope to return soon.

    • The house was everything I was hoping for. The house was stocked with everything I needed down to tupperware! It was spacious and comfortable. A half block walk down the street opened into what really is a private beach, it was not crowded at all. We enjoyed the patio deck sipping mixed drinks and feeling the cool breeze of the water. The only turn-off to the whole thing was the massive amounts of mosquitos!! The city sprayed for them three times while we were there but it didn't help. Be sure to take plenty of OFF. Citronella candles helped as well.

"My wife and I were very pleased with Tuck's Landing! It was everything we could have hoped for on the budget we had! Very clean and well kept up property! Although not exactly on the beach, it still had some pretty awesome views from the porch. We would definately recommend this rental to anyone!"
