Views to die for in Central Oregon's high desert. Five year old rustic (but very nice) cabin/home situated on 20 acres 17 miles S.E. of Prineville overlooking lake and river. You will feel totally secluded, but just a mile down the hill to state park and boat dock, another mile to small resort/marina, store and boat rentals. If this home is booked please ask about an alternative property.

Stand on the porch and watch eagles, deer and other wildlife. Step out the door at night, and you will be enthralled by the brightness of the stars and galaxy. Wonderful getaway for couples, family, business, or friends. Deck off master bedroom perfect for morning tea, or sunbathing in solitude. Stay in touch with internet, Bike, explore, rock climb, boat, fish, hunt, or just simply relax in new hot tub or in front of the stone fireplace in the most incredible surroundings.

Memories of bright blue skies and fresh clean air will linger long after you've departed. This property isn't about crowds or malls, although the trendy city of Bend with its Mount Bachelor Ski Lodge and tons of shopping is just a quick 35 minutes from Prineville.

We don't mean to sell Prineville short. Doorway to the pine studded Ochoco mountains. Good restaurants in town, along with some great little antique, home decor, gift, and clothing shops. Several spas, coffee shops, a retail bookstore, and really nice people.

We arrived Friday night in time to see the full moon rising over the lake as we drove the winding road towards the cabin, found our way easily enough, full of wonder at where the road would lead us. How amazing it was to pull up in front of the house under the moonlight and see what a beautiful place it was. We were thrilled. Rested the weariness of a long day of work and driving in the hot tub, smelling the juniper and listening to the great horned owl, then retired, anxious to see it in the morning. Sunrise, clear skies, and your beautiful cabin… what a way to start the day. Went to Bend to visit family, then returned to relax and enjoy ourselves. Sam (age six) loved it too, spending most of his time looking for crystals and scorpions...

We loved the hot tub and watching the sunset while in the hot tub! The view is fantastic! We didn't want to leave the cabin it was so comfortable, isolated, serene.   • Thanks so much for allowing us to rent your wonderful cabin. We read these glowing comments and we saw the beautiful photos before we rented, but none of that prepared us for just how great the cabin was. The setting is amazing, high on the hill overlooking the reservoir with hardly another house in sight. At night, there were just a few lights that we could see in any direction. The house is well-designed, well-built, and very tastefully decorated with colors, materials, and furnishings that reflect the high desert setting. Most of all, it was peaceful and serene. We loved exploring the area around there, but several days, we never left the hill. We took long walks from the cabin and never saw another soul - other than the deer and jackrabbits. We were sad to leave. Now that we're back in the city, the smells of the juniper and sagebrush are slowly fading, but our memories of the air and light and calm are still clear in our minds and bodies. Thanks again.   • I must say that my intention for renting the cabin was to seek inspiration to finish writing a book. What I found was beyond my imagination. The cabin is about as perfect of a setting as one could ever wish for. Perched on the top of a hill without a sole in sight, I felt as though I was the only person on the face of the Earth. Inside was pristine and cozy. Though it was difficult staying indoors with the view that awaited me outside. Words cannot express the beauty of the first evening's sunset over the lake and the hills beyond it. The only downside... I didn't make much progress on the book, because all I wanted to do was to sit on the porch and soak up the beauty that surrounded me. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home. It is not a question of if I'll be back, but when.

  • What a wonderful place to stay. We really enjoyed all the wildlife..deer, jackrabbits. We had a great time fishing and skiing. The house was large and had plenty of room, the veiw was awesome!!! Thanks for the memories.
