Quiet Oceanfront Cottage

This is a very quiet ocean front cottage in the classic style. Beautiful sunsets combine with wild life create a magical paradise. Watch herds of elk from the comfort of your hot tub with hawks, eagles and many variety of sea birds sweep above the dunes.
Feel comfortable in a secure private gated community. Walk across the flat dunes and hit the beach for surfing, clam digging, and picnicking. If you have a dog, the large yard going all the way to the beach, makes for fun. Our Chinese Crested Winnie loves it!
This year we have added another TV in the master bedroom, a new wi fi system, and new patio table setup for those sunsets.
Spring and summer on the Oregon Coast is an especially beautiful time to enjoy the ocean and wild life. Some of the best weather of the year can be enjoyed.

We will definitely be back! This was our most relaxing weekend away. We loved that it was a short walk to the beach and that we were able to bring our dogs with us. The house was in good shape and looks just like the pictures. It was nice that the location was away from town but only a short drive to all amenities.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit although we didn't get to see the local elk herd. The cottage had just about everything we needed and easily accommodated two adults and four teens. The washer and dryer were wonderful to have since we had a few days of wind and rain thus lots of wet clothes. We enjoyed the central location in northern Oregon and visited all of the towns from Astoria to Tillamook and several area beaches.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway.

We just came back from a fabulous spring break vacation at this cottage! We are from Canada and this was our first time in Oregon and we are talking about making this an annual trip! The price was right and the cottage was a great location if you don't mind driving everywhere...Gearhart, Seaside, Astoria and Cannon Beach are all short drives, however there isn't really anything walking distance from the cottage unless you are willing to walk about 45 mins each way. We even made a day trip to Portland from here, it was about 2 hours each way but worth it for us as we had never been before. The cottage was a perfect size for 2 couples and 2 dogs (although you could fit 6 people if you wanted to use the futon). The dogs loved the yard, and the beach (which is only about a 5 minute walk away). It was also great having the well stocked kitchen to make our own meals. The owners were also really easy to deal with, they replied to emails very quickly and made sure we had everything we needed. If you are coming to the area any time soon I would highly recommend the Pacific Way Bakery in Gearhart (careful they are closed monday/tuesday in the low season), Angelina's Pizza in Seaside.. they reheated their ovens after 10pm just for us and their pizzas were amazing, fresh ingredients/ real ham we were impressed! Also the wine bar in Cannon beach was a great experience, the 15$ tasting is well worth it, as you get to sample a bunch of northwest wines. We also had fun cooking our own crab that we bought fresh from the seafood market in Warenton. If you are looking for a relaxing spot, and a central location for the right price you will have no regrets with this place!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We found the cottage to be just what we expected. Everything we needed to enjoy a relaxing weekend was there. The location near the beach and quiet neighborhood provided the perfect getaway. We were greeted by two bald eagles on our first stroll to the beach. Enjoyed golfing nearby as well as the famous Gearhart bakery. We were able to cook all of our meals at the home with all cooking utensils supplied. Working with the owner was a pleasure.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children.

We enjoyed this house. We are thrilled that we were able to use the hot tub and it has a fantastic location right on the dunes with a direct path to the beach. Very quiet area. Also had a herd of elk pass through the backyard area twice. That's close up wildlife! Would stay there again.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway.

Wonderful little cottage. Clean and comfortable. Looks just like the pictures. We really enjoyed the view across the dunes. The elk were nearby the night we arrived and the next morning. Very quiet location. Yet just several minutes from Seaside and not much longer to Warrenton and Astoria. You've got to try the delights at the Pacific Way Bakery in Gearhart. But get there early - we got there at 11 the first morning we tried and all that was left was a cookie and some bread. We tried both types of bread - yum. Went back the next day bright and early for some of the other treats and another loaf of the cheddar onion bread. Phil and Kirsten were great. Every communication ended with "Let us know if there is anything you need." Oh, and be sure to follow Phil's directions to the cottage. We followed our GPS which told us to turn on Highland Lane which doesn't work.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

My wife and I met our adult children and their significant others at this wonderful, beachfront house in Gearhart, Oregon. We loved every minute of our stay. Nothing fancy, but comfortable, clean and private. We appreciated the dog-friendly atmosphere, the hot tub and quiet walks on the beach. Gearhart is not the hustle and bustle of Seaside. And the price was right. Our only wish was that we could have stayed another few days. We definitely will be back...Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

What a great beach house! We really enjoyed our stay! Phil was so easy to work with, and the property was exactly as described. We love the Gearhart community, and Surf Pines is a wonderful area. Our little dog particularly enjoyed the big lawn off the deck and the groomed path through the dunes to the beach! We are definitely looking forward to a return visit - so glad we found this listing!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
