  • Love Nella's Nest

"We had a pleasant experience staying at Nella's last December. The house is located about 15 minutes from the aiorport. Easy to find. When we arrived the house was well groomed. Very Comfortable rooms and baths. Outside is remarkable. Walkway into the ocean with plenty of decking by the house and several areas to sunbathe near the ocean. Thanks for sharing your house with me"

  • Nice and quaint home away from home!

"This house is a really nice and quaint place to stay in Eleuthera. They were spot on with the pictures and the amenities are very comfortable. The house and yard are well-maintained with a spectacular view of the Atlantic Ocean. Internet access would have been great, but we made do. The owner is friendly, accommodating and provided great customer service!"

  • A trip so good things going wrong couldn't ruin!

"We had such a wonderful time staying at the Starfish Cottage hosted by Kimy and Terry in Gregory Town, Eleuthera. This was my very first trip to the Bahamas and my first trip out of the country and it was exactly what I was hoping for. I really didn’t want to do the tourist thing because I wanted to actually experience a different place. Gregory Town was a real Bahamian town that was small enough to feel secluded but not desolate. The property is right on the harbor and a dock leads right down to the water. The property itself is just amazing, with unique landscaping and artistic elements worked in everywhere! Even real coconuts ripe for the husking. Terry built much of what is on the property and Kimy has used all kinds of shells and artifacts found on the beaches to decorate everything. The cottage too was perfect for our needs. It’s one room but spacious and includes a kitchen with all the dishes and cooking instruments you may need. I wanted to go to the Bahamas to experience the outdoors but I’m not much of a camping girl. There was a nice comfy bed and clean sheets but the windows could be opened up and the hot water shower is out in the fresh air but in its own enclosed area for privacy. Everything was just beautiful, like a dream. The bathroom and shower is not connected to the cottage, but it’s only a few steps away and very private. The island itself has so much to offer that it is impossible to see it all even in a full seven-day trip. We were excited by the idea of an excluded experience not having to share a beach with a hundred people. It was the perfect mixture. We could find secluded areas when we wanted seclusion, but we also had a couple of options if we wanted live music or dancing in the evening, or if we wanted to meet locals and hang out with them. There were plenty of awesome restaurants to choose from and almost everywhere we ate was amazing. A car is important. We only rented one for three or four days and entertained ourselves for around Gregory Town and the property for a few days. We got the car in the middle of our stay so the first and last days we could just get to know the local area and rest after all the snorkeling and other activities we planned. It is a mile or two walk to a beach from the property, but if you want to stay nearby you can swim in the harbor. We even did a little snorkeling in the harbor. Overall an amazing experience, so good, even things going wrong couldn't spoil it!"

  • must enjoy at least once in a lifetime

"We vacationed at this property for one week in July 2014; the owner has set this up to be trouble free from airport pick up to amenities, to local arrangements for entertainment and fun; The home and the feeling of the home are much better than what one can imagine by looking at photographs; all that is listed and more is available at the house; bedding is super comfortable, loved the main kithen/living room full windows toward the sound and the amazing views and freedom you get when your eyes first see it in the morning; it is the best way I found to start my day; kids loved it and time did go by slower than most other vacations we took; Peter is the caretaker of the house locally and he is very nice; word of advice is to define your requirements as far as his regular visits at the onset; the island spirit is so friendly that Peter will drop in otherwise almost daily to check on you; the welcome dinner was truly home cooked and wouldnt have traded it for anything else. Bring supplies from the states; the local population lives off the price difference between states-prices and locally charged prices therefore it gets really expensive; we would go back in a heart beat as all this gives some really sweet local flavor. DO RENT THE SUV THAT IS OFFERED TO YOU AS YOU WILL NEED A CAR TO MOVE AROUND. Thank you for Don!"
