  • Perfect family destination and accommodations

"We spent a wonderful 12 days here, as a family of four with two small ages (2.5 and 4.5). The condo is very spacious, and the master bedroom was a luxury for my husband and me. Very clean & modern. All the amenities that make life easier with small kids were here: washer/dryer, full kitchen, 2 full baths (with bathtub), WiFi, lots of space. The kids loved it, and there was a lot to do: the smaller infinity pool of the condo area; the larger pool (with kid areas) in the beach club; the largest pool in the hotel area; the Playa Conchal beach. All of this was very kid friendly. We also rented a car and visited several nearby beaches: Playa Avellanas, Playa Ocotol, Playa Negra. We did the Palo Verde River tour, and the kids got to feed monkeys that came right onto our boat, plus see crocodiles, followed by an amazing typical Costa Rican meal prepared at a family's home. We also went to Arenal Volcano and stayed one night at Tabacon Hot Springs and visited the Denaus Ecological Sanctuary, where we saw a beautiful butterfly garden, different types of frogs, and other wildlife. It's very safe to travel here, and the country has made a major effort to ensure that the population speaks English. We were so impressed with the high levels of English fluency everywhere we went. The restaurants all catered well to kids, too (including the Beach Club). Our kids are finicky eaters, but we were pleased to find chicken fingers and french fries nearly everywhere we went. And some restaurants even had small indoor kid play areas where the kids were very entertained! The condo was a perfect "home base" for us as we pursued our adventures. The people at the resort (and really, everywhere we went) are friendly and warm. The roads have greatly improved since we were last here 5 years ago, and we had no trouble driving around (although still recommend renting a 4x4). We have now been here three times: once for our honeymoon, once as a married couple when I was pregnant with our first, and now once with 2 small kids. Each time we've immensely enjoyed it, and I believe it has something for everyone. Even teenagers would enjoy the beaches, eco-activities, and fun restaurants and towns. Also, staying at the condo allows the luxury of NOT having to deal with people who are on vacation just to do an all-inclusive booze/food binge. (Actually, I didn't see those types at the hotel resort area either!) In sum, highly recommend for all ages, including for families w/ small kids!!"

  • Awsome stay

"We stayed at the villa for the better part of a week and really enjoyed the whole time. We came from two weeks on the coast and the change to the lush greenery and even some rain showers was very welcome. The Villa itself was as listed and very comfortable. We had everything we needed. We saw more birds there than anywhere else and that is one of the reasons we came. We also drove around to the many different sights and enjoyed them all. Glen was a great host and gave really good suggestion as where to eat and things to do. The trails around the Villa were great and clearly marked by the painted rock lady bugs. Great touch. We were also able to feed the birds with local fruit and enjoyed watching them. Thanks again Glen!"

  • Astonishingly Beautiful, Perfect Spot, Perfect Hosts

"As a nearly retired couple from the Hudson Valley in New York, with grown children and one grandchild, we wanted to take a truly "family" vacation. We invited our son, 40, his significant other, 32, our daughter, 36, her son, 10, to join together for a special trip to Casa Grande. We arrived in the dark, appreciating an awesome, beautifully finished home interior and distant sparkling lights around Lake Arenal. Then, we awoke to the amazing view! It is unbeatable! The owners Tom and Maria kept in touch by email and phone in the months prior to our arrival and made sure our communications, airport transportation, and arrival were complete and managed efficiently. They each offered counsel and assistance with all our day trips. Casa Grande is stunning, while at the same time completely homey, satisfying all one's needs and making one's vacation life simple. It delivers all it promises."

  • Wonderful Villa, thank you!

"We are two families from Canada, a group of 10 and spent 9 nights over New Years Eve at this Villa. We booked this home based on the reviews. It certainly lived up to all the great comments. It is spacious, plenty of room for everyone; however the bedrooms are not very private, the kids with you in loft. I won't repeat all the good stuff everyone else has said, so I'll just add to it. Groceries, wine, and beer all readily available at Super Compro in Huacas; you pass right through from the Liberia airport; an easy 1.15 hour drive. We arrived at night, and just got a bit lost right near the end but managed to find it. We enjoyed walking to restaurants for dinner. There's a new restaurant called Shakas, a wood fired pizza place, Kiki's and taco hut on the beach. All were good. We had Mireya cook 2 authentic CR dinners for us. It was DELICIOUS! We paid for the groceries and then gave her about $40 tip. She cooked with her daughter, and they were both very friendly. Mireya doesn't speak any English, but her daughter and son helped. We booked one trip through her son (as previously said in comments) to an adventure place; zip lines, white water tubing, horseback riding, mud baths, hot baths. It was a full day, very enjoyable. We had some trouble communicating to Carlos and I think we both misunderstood. The trip was $800 US. We thought we could pay him when we got home so we didn't have to carry all that cash. But when we arrived by his bus, he wanted the cash. They didn't take Visa. So we figured it out eventually and the day was good, but be very clear with him. After that, we drove our own car to different activities. We went in a boat up the Estuary and saw monkeys, crocodiles and birds. We went hiking near the volcano and swam in 3 different waterfalls. We took a night tour of a secluded beach and saw the big turtles laying eggs, and a nest of baby turtles emerging and running to the ocean. That was the highlight of our trip! All in all, it was a fantastic trip! Just a few words of caution as stated in previous comments; the only rental car company that had any cars was Alamo. We booked a month ahead from Canada and put a deposit. They didn't have our car or my sister's car. We were stuck! So they eventually found a Toyota Rav4 (very old, standard) and in the end it cost us $1800 CA. My sister ended up at Budget with a SUV and spent about $1500 CA. VERY EXPENSIVE! That was really the only bad thing that happened."

Guanacaste Travel Tips

Guanacaste Beach Rentals Give You the Real Costa Rica

If you are looking for long summer days on beautiful coastlines, Guanacaste beach rentals are for you. Vacations in Costa Rica can be filled with activities, sun, and sand. Enjoy the stunning shoreline, top-notch surfing, snorkeling, and so much more when you stay at Guanacaste resorts. The province is the perfect vacation destination for the whole family or the ideal spot for a romantic honeymoon.

Breathtaking Vistas within the Guanacaste Resorts Regions

All along the eastern borders of the province you will find a chain of volcanoes, many of which are visible from some Guanacaste beach rentals. The volcanoes meet the Cordillera de Tilaran and Cordillera de Guanacaste mountain ranges and offer plenty of hiking, mountain biking, and other high elevation activities. The views in this region are particularly breathtaking, especially when you reach Rincon de la Vieja Volcano Area with its lush forests filled with exotic plants and animals. No one ever said vacations in Costa Rica would not be gorgeous!

Vacations in Costa Rica Offer a Little Culture

As you plan your stay in Guanacaste resorts, you might appreciate learning a little bit about the local culture. The region is rich in culture and even takes its name from the word “quahnacaztlan” which is actually the word for the Guanacaste tree in the native language. This tree also happens to be the national tree of the country. Vacations here, especially those at Guanacaste beach rentals, will allow you the opportunity to see what the real Costa Rica is all about.

The Best Way to Reach Your Guanacaste Beach Rentals

Because it is a foreign country, vacations in Costa Rica do take some planning. The easiest way to reach Guanacaste resorts is to fly into Liberia and land at the Daniel Oduber International Airport. From the airport, you may either rent a car or take a bus through Guanacaste up the Pan-American Highway which is quite scenic. You will even catch a glimpse of the volcanoes on your way.
