  • Simply Paradise!

"Where to even begin??? We've been traveled to this lovely home three times over the last couple of years. Every time we visit, it gets harder and harder to leave! :) First, the house: The owners put a lot of thought into making this a very relaxing and welcoming home. The kitchen (fully stocked with any of the gadgets you might want to use while cooking) you and living room (a nice set of couches that allow for some nice downtime) occupy the center of the house and there are bedrooms at each end of the house (and some bedrooms downstairs should you need a little more room). The crown jewel of the house is the deck that has multiple sitting areas and allows for unforgettable views of both Playa Negra and the surround areas. The ocean surf is always within earshot! The second crown jewel is the pool - it's located behind the house and has a zero entrance that was great for our young kiddos. Then there is Playa Negra itself. This is a very relaxed and chill location that has just about anything you could want on a trip. The beach is incredible (and I might add a very short walk from the house) and often you find that you basically have it to yourself. There are a couple of different options of ocean within walking distance - places for first rate surfings, places to lounge in the water, and places where you can play in the waves. If you're into the monkey scene there are two families a short walk/drive down the road. Our kids loved this! There are multiple places to eat within a short drive from the house - including the hotel which is a short walk from the house (p.s. the sunset here is second to none!) and our personal favorite Latino which is about a five minute ride. If you want to plug into more "traditional" tourist activities - Tamarindo is about a 40 - 45 drive and has all the stuff you could possibly want. I especially recommend this house for folks with young children - both the owners of the house and Negra itself is very kid friendly."

  • Perfect And Private With All The Amenities

"I stayed here with 3 others for 4 nights. I wouldn't pick anywhere else to stay, even after seeing all the other houses nearby. The views were priceless. A short walk uphill takes you to the tallest point of Tamarindo which was awesome for sunsets. The interior of the house was very authentic, clean, comfortable, and homey. As part of renting a house (as opposed to a villa or hotel room), we were worried that we wouldn't have all the services and amenities; however we were provided everything we could ask for and more: Upon arrival the property manager, Hans, met us at the house and drove me into town to show me where the ATMs and best places to go were (this was before we had access to a rental car). He couldn't have been more helpful. We were also put in touch with Margarita, who organized a full day of activities for us and even cooked dinner at the house one night (upon request). She was great-- we told her what kind of activities we wanted and she put together everything and had further ideas for us, such as setting up masseuses to come to the house for massages. The awesome local couple and their young son who live near the house provided maid, cleaning, laundry, and security services. They would see us coming up the hill and open the gate to the house for us every time with a big smile. Also, the morning of the day we left, they cooked a Costa Rican breakfast for us which was simple but by far the best breakfast we had the whole trip. Then there was Layce, the "guard dog." What a sweetheart she was. We couldn't get enough of her company. There were added bonuses that weren't mentioned in the listing description, such as an electric, full-body massage chair in one of the rooms. Another bonus (I think is mentioned briefly in the description) was a large, outdoor, covered bed that was perched behind the house; it casted an excellent view of Tamarindo, the ocean, and Langosta. Book your stay at Casa Catalina and you won't be disappointed. There's nothing we would change about it!"

  • Perfect Location and Service in Tamarindo

"My husband and I visited Costa Rica for the first time in April 2014. We stayed at Kathy's and highly recommend it! We stayed in the garden apartment. It is within steps of the beach (as close as you can get really), has plenty of room for 2 - large bed, small kitchen area with everything you need and a large bathroom. We spent every morning drinking coffee overlooking the ocean, and every evening with a glass of wine watching the most amazing sunsets. You can walk to several restaurants/attractions from here as well. At night, we usually walked along the beach (perfect for walking) to a restaurant and would take our video camera to catch "crab footage" as there were literally hundreds of crabs wondering around on the beach. During the day, when the tide is low, walk out on the jetty and observe some marine life, or take a left on the beach from Kathy's and head around the peninsula to see another beach and pretty area (the water here when the tide is low reminded me of Northwestern Pacific Coast). One night we walked a very short distance to Capitan Suizos and had a delicious candle light dinner right on the beach. We also saw howler monkeys every day from our apartment door! Can be a pain at 5 am as they are pretty loud, but when in Costa Rica! There was maid service every day and Kathy made sure we were taken care of. We had a slow leak in our tire on our rental, and she even made sure we were aired up everyday. If you have more than 2 in your party, she rents out the larger house which we checked out for future stays, and it looks very accommodating as well. Kathy is really sweet and accommodating from the time we inquired about her property until we left for the airport. If you want great service, perfect location and clean and comfortable lodging, stay here!!!"

  • Fantastic location with beautiful accomodations

"Villa Sonita was wonderful for our family of four and our friends (a married couple). All of the rooms were very clean and the AC in the bedrooms worked quickly and effectively. The outdoor seating around the house and the pool was great to enjoy the jungle setting. We had a blast in the pool and it was an easy walk to the beach with our surf boards. Awesome week of surfing with Chorotega Surf school and Graciela Lopez cooked her wonders at the house. The property management at the Harbor Reef was very responsive, friendly and available. Villa Sonita was more than we dreamed of and the perfect spot to relax."

Guanacaste Travel Tips

Guanacaste Beach Rentals Give You the Real Costa Rica

If you are looking for long summer days on beautiful coastlines, Guanacaste beach rentals are for you. Vacations in Costa Rica can be filled with activities, sun, and sand. Enjoy the stunning shoreline, top-notch surfing, snorkeling, and so much more when you stay at Guanacaste resorts. The province is the perfect vacation destination for the whole family or the ideal spot for a romantic honeymoon.

Breathtaking Vistas within the Guanacaste Resorts Regions

All along the eastern borders of the province you will find a chain of volcanoes, many of which are visible from some Guanacaste beach rentals. The volcanoes meet the Cordillera de Tilaran and Cordillera de Guanacaste mountain ranges and offer plenty of hiking, mountain biking, and other high elevation activities. The views in this region are particularly breathtaking, especially when you reach Rincon de la Vieja Volcano Area with its lush forests filled with exotic plants and animals. No one ever said vacations in Costa Rica would not be gorgeous!

Vacations in Costa Rica Offer a Little Culture

As you plan your stay in Guanacaste resorts, you might appreciate learning a little bit about the local culture. The region is rich in culture and even takes its name from the word “quahnacaztlan” which is actually the word for the Guanacaste tree in the native language. This tree also happens to be the national tree of the country. Vacations here, especially those at Guanacaste beach rentals, will allow you the opportunity to see what the real Costa Rica is all about.

The Best Way to Reach Your Guanacaste Beach Rentals

Because it is a foreign country, vacations in Costa Rica do take some planning. The easiest way to reach Guanacaste resorts is to fly into Liberia and land at the Daniel Oduber International Airport. From the airport, you may either rent a car or take a bus through Guanacaste up the Pan-American Highway which is quite scenic. You will even catch a glimpse of the volcanoes on your way.
