"My wife and I recently stayed here with another couple for a weekend getaway. Erica was fantastic to deal with leading up to the trip, and provided us with all the information we needed to get in and feel at home. The location is fantastic, with Carmel about 15 minutes down the road and Pacific Grove/Monterey another 15 minutes beyond that. While we spent most of our time during the day nearer to the beaches and coastline, it was a pleasure to return to this home at the end of each day.
The house itself is in a quiet little neighborhood along the Carmel River. Despite the proximity of neighbors, the property feels very private, as there is a large fence and hedge in the front that blocks anybody out on the street from looking in (not that there was a lot of foot traffic, as there was most definitely not). The photos of the home, and especially the back yard, don't do this rental justice. Hardwood floors in the home and 2 bedrooms, each with their own separate bathrooms. Essentially, this home has 2 master bedrooms, which is great for 2 couples. The kitchen was well stocked with any pot, pan or cooking utensil you would need. There is a great looking fireplace that we would have loved to use if the weather had been cooler. For us, though, the highlight easily is the large back deck with steps leading down to the river. Even in the drought that California is currently experiencing, the river had plenty of water. This area also has an abundant tree canopy, so the back yard was peaceful and shady. Both nights we sat out on the patio with a nice bottle of wine and great company; this, in my opinion, is reason enough to skip a hotel and rent this house.
As you can tell, we really liked this place. We are already planning our next trip up, this time with the kids. Most likely in the winter, so we can take that beautiful fireplace for a test ride!"
