  • Great View, Very Comfortable

"This was a really great house for to stay at with both my mom and my kids. The house had a fantastic 180 degree view of the coastline and we saw many whales during our stay (thanks for providing the binoculars). The kids also enjoyed seeing the goat families that grazed near the property. I liked the fact that the house was at the end of an already quiet street as you really feel like you are getting away from it all. The kids enjoyed walking down to the beach and collected lots of shells and swam. The one downside was my mom couldn't walk to the beach as it is a very steep hill to get there. Also the beach is very pebbly so I recommend good water shoes. I highly recommend driving to Two Step in the morning (about a 25 minute drive) as we got to swim with dolphins in the bay. It was the highlight of the trip. We paid the $5 to park at Pu`uhonua O Hōnaunau Historic Park and then came back 3 times (the parking is good for a week). We stayed her for half the trip and then up north near Hawi for the second half which worked well for us in terms of diversity."

  • What an amazing place to stay!

"We just finished a weeks stay at this beautiful quiet and clean house located up a private road along the kona coast. This house was absolutely beautiful, the views and peace and quiet up there were amazing. The owner of the house and his son were really nice and helpful. You cant beat the price and the location is excellent, everything you need or would like to try out is conveniently located just a short drive away. The house itself is located on a very nicely manicured yard and the inside is very spacious. My girlfriend and I stayed in the master bedroom which has a gorgeous view of the bay and our friend stayed in the second bedroom which was also very comfortable. Highly suggest this place for your next stay."

  • Tropical Hideaway

"We just returned from a lovely stay at the Tropical Hideaway. This was a wonderful place to enjoy the beauty of the Kona Coast. Kathy ,the owner ,has thoughtfully provided many extras to enhance your stay. The bed was very comfortable and the hot tub was a great way to relax after diving or touring all day. Even when it rained you could enjoy outdoor dining on the cover, patio. I also got very used to the out door shower . It was very nice to have basic condiment and some supplies like sunscreen and band aides in case you forgot or just ran out. Kathy is very pleasant and has an insiders knowledge of the best places to see, eat or buy coffee. I really enjoyed the pool after diving or sightseeing as it was refreshingly cool at 70 degrees. The place is just minutes away from the City of Refuge Park , the Painted Church, and the glorious two steps beach. We went snorkeling every morning we we not diving. You can get in a beautiful snorkel and return to the Hideaway to enjoy a breakfast of mango, papaya and bananas provided free from Kathy's yard. The washer and dryer were very confident and really reduces the amount of clothes you need to bring.we loved this place so. Much we are recommending it to our daughters and all our friends."

  • Orchids, Fruit trees, Quiet, Well Stocked

"Four adults stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed our time out of the hustle and bustle of the tourist areas. The kitchen is well set up - we cooked in one night and found everything we needed for meal prep. Early morning strolls through the coffee farm, feeding the chooks, reading on the veranda and the lawn, and the outdoor shower (yes, there's one inside too) were highlights. Steve has guide books and maps and left some of his excellent coffee for us to enjoy."
