Recent Torch Lake property reviews

  • Exactly as advertised

"Our family really enjoyed our stay at torch lake. The lake itself is quite beautiful and even on the seventh day I was still shocked at how blue the water was. For those not familiar with Torch, you should know that the water is cold - even in August - not a deterient for our family, but maybe for others. The bottom of the lake is sand covered but does have some substantial rocks close to the dock area so bring water shoes if that bothers you. The lake itself was rather rough a few days so on those days we took our boat into Clam Lake to do wake boarding and other water sports. The house is exactly as advertised and the pictures adequately show how the house looks today. The house is well maintained and very clean. The 2 bedrooms are very large, both with baths attached. Their is a room in the front of the house on the first floor that could easily be used as a 3rd bedroom (for those willing to sleep on a sofa bed) as it has double doors that close and their is an additional full bath on the first floor as well. We are big boaters and spent as much time as we could enjoying the water. There is a mooring anchor clearly marked several feet from the dock. It made for a cold swim to and from for my husband and son. It would be nice to be able to tie up to the dock but I don't think any of the rentals provide that bonus. The location of the house is rather far north. You are quite a ways from any restaurants on the water and the sand bar, but we did enjoy being on the east side of the lake to catch the beautiful sunset each evening. The owners obviously care a great deal about their home and are very responsive to questions and concerns. I would highly recommend this rental, especially if you are not planning on visiting restaurants and towns by boat."

  • Wonderful!

"We really enjoyed our time here. The house is spacious, bright, and cheery. It is well furnished and up to date. The owners are very helpful. The wraparound deck is relaxing with great views of Torch Lake. It's fun to watch the birds at the bird feeder. There are plenty of games for rainy days. Everything was wonderful! We would love to stay here again."

  • Beautiful Home for a Family Getaway

"My three children, their spouses, my two granddaughters and I started a tradition of renting cottages on Torch Lake for an annual family getaway. This year we won the jackpot with this lovely, extremely clean, home. The home has such a cozy, cottage feel, yet has plenty of room to accommodate seven adults and 2 children. The sleeping quarters were very roomy and comfortable. The outside decking is fantastic with two levels. One area is protected from the weather elements with a roof and just one step down to another area is a dining table large enough to sit all of us for family meal time. We ate all of our lunch and dinner meals on the deck watching the boat traffic on the lake. My two granddaughters were swimming and collecting Petosky stones in the beautiful blue water every day. We loved our week so much we have already started the process of renting the home again next year. Carol, Brian (& Jenny), Laurie (& Todd), Amie (& Andy), Gemma (7), Esme (3)."

  • Rental 185747 Chalet at Rapid City, MI

"Charming and secluded. Quarters were just a bit smaller in size than anticipated, but still adequate. Storage for personal items was somewhat lacking due to compact room sizes. One bathroom with six people was challenging but not un-surmountable. We did some traveling while in the area so it met our needs nicely. The fire-pit was nice and also the hot tub."
