  • Visiting Family

"I was pleasantly surprised when i found your rental. I am originally from the Biloxi area and was visiting to introduce my 6 month old grandson to the family. The unit was a much better option for traveling with multiple family members and less expensive than the prevailing hotel rates. The unit was fantastic. Could not have imagined a better place to stay."

  • amazing stay!

"This was such a great place to stay. We traveled over Thanksgiving with our 4-month old and two dogs. The house had everything we needed. The owner was very helpful and even left a pack-n-play and bottle brush to use for my baby. Additionally, she left some beautiful baby quilts to use. These kind and personal touches made traveling with a baby very stress-free. We definitely will be back!"

  • Convenient and Comfortable Vacation

"My wife and I decided to avoid the hustle and bustle of a hotel during the New Year holiday. We chose this condo because it is located within 2 miles of the Beau Rivage, Hard Rock, Palace and other casinos/resorts, making it easy to access the entertainment offered by those properties. Several restaurants and a shopping mall are a very short drive from this property. We also appreciated that the property is located directly ON the beach, not across the street, so you can exit the property and be right on the beach (a nice feature if you are carrying children, ice chests, beach chairs, etc.). The beach there is spacious and well kept. The beach wasn't busy, but we didn't expect it to be during the chilly winter month. The view from this unit is superb; the master bedroom and living room have pleasant views of the Gulf, sunrise and sunset. The facility is gated, which is a nice safety feature. You can park in a covered, reserved spot for this unit. If you have a second vehicle, it must be parked outside the gated parking lot where there are far fewer spots. There were ample carts available, making it easy to transfer our possessions from the car to the condo. All of the instructions for accessing the key to the unit and checking in were clear and delivered promptly a week prior to our arrival. We were checked in and moved into the unit within 10 minutes. The condo is clean, spacious enough for 4 guests to relax comfortably, and more than adequate for 2 guests. The overall property is well maintained. Although we didn't use them, there are two pools (one heated) which are well-maintained and have ample deck space in case it is ever crowded. The gym is relatively small, but adequate, and has a sauna. If you prefer to dine in, the unit has everything you need from appliances to utensils. The bed in the master bedroom is comfortable. We did not use the spare bedroom. It was quiet during the evenings, so no problems with noise disrupting sleep. I should comment, however, that (from the looks of the parking lot), the property was, as expected, nowhere close to full occupancy at this time of year. I thought the price point, certainly relative to the nearby hotels, was appropriate. We would definitely consider staying here again. And although it doesn't relate to this property, I'd like to make a special mention of the SMOKE-FREE Palace Casino & Resort, which was heavenly compared to the smoke-filled other casinos."

  • October Sibling Retreat

"My siblings go somewhere every year for a four day retreat and this year we chose Bay St Louis and the Blue Door. The house was perfect for us and was well stocked with linens and towels. Also, the kitchen was well stocked. I would highly recommend the Blue Door to anyone."

Mississippi Travel Tips

Best Time of Year to Visit Mississippi

Mississippi enjoys a long summer and relatively short winter. This makes it a popular summer vacation destination. While most people still tend to travel during the peak holiday season of July and August, the longer summer season means that you can still enjoy good weather outside of peak season. In the summer months, the temperatures average around 85 degrees Fahrenheit. The warmest month is traditionally July. During the winter months, the temperatures average 48 degrees Fahrenheit, with the coldest month being January. The northern interior is generally more temperate that the coastal areas. Occasional snowfalls are not uncommon in the central and northern parts; however, it is seldom significant amounts and it usually quickly melts away. Most of the rainfall occurs during the summer months in the form of short-lived but dramatic thunderstorms. The Gulf Coast is particularly prone to hurricanes that blow across the Gulf of Mexico in the late summer and early fall months. The interior of the state usually gets the dregs of the tropical storms which results in heavy rainfall.

Music Legends at Mississippi Condos

Mississippi has a rich cultural heritage. Like its neighboring states, it has a strong music tradition with the signature music style being the Blues. In Clarksdale, you will find the Delta Blues Museum where you can see memorabilia and photographs of some of the great Blues legends. There are also numerous Blues Bars across the state where you can hear your favorite tune. Tupelo, which is in northeast Mississippi, is the birthplace of Elvis Presley. Here, you can tour his childhood home which is a humble two-room house. Next door is a museum which contains many different memorabilia items that detail his life. You can also take a stroll through town and see the fairgrounds where he performed early in his career or the hardware store where he bought his first guitar. For country music fans, you can visit Meridian which is the hometown of Jimmy Rogers. The Jimmy Rogers Museum in town pays tribute to this country music legend.

Visitors to Mississippi

Mississippi is a state that attracts a diverse range of visitors. Many come to visit the museums attributed to music legends but the state has much more to offer. It has a rich historical heritage with many museums. There are also many excellent golf courses where golfing enthusiasts can enjoy a round. The natural attractions are ideal for outdoor enthusiasts that enjoy hiking, mountain biking or RV-ing.
