  • A beautiful home

"My family of 7 (ages 7 to 74) spent a week in this lovely home. For years we've rented a home twice a year to vacation together. We've thoroughly enjoyed the experience and have never even been tempted to rent the same home twice - until now. This home is amazing and we'd all love to come back for another week. It's well designed, beautifully decorated, has lovely landscaping and is in a perfect location - near excellent hiking trails and restaurants. We spent many relaxed, happy evenings on the lovely deck that overlooks the gurgling river - chatting and listening to the big variety of birds."

  • Excellent stay for young family on a budget!

"We had a wonderful 4 day stay here. It was comfortable for two adults and three kids. Our kids loved having the water out the back door and watching the tides go in and out. We brought our kayak and were in the water every chance we got. We loved having a fire in the fire pit a couple of different nights and watching the shooting stars. Clams and oysters were readily available and the rocky beaches provided endless rock skipping fun. It is a bit of a drive from the nearest restaurants and shopping but we brought all of our own food and the kitchen was well supplied to prepare all our meals. Only minor negative was the bottom step leading out to the water needs to be repaired. Overall one of the best vacations we have had with our young family."

  • Memorial Day weekend with friends!

"We enjoyed our stay at the Playhouse! It's a beautiful home with views of the mountains and water - so peaceful. The house was roomy even with 4 couples, a 5 month old and a dog! So close to Coupeville, we took in the Saturday farmers market and Memorial Day parade. It was a short walk down the hill to the beach - but if you have trouble with hills, you may want to make the short drive as driveway is fairly steep. Other items you may want to bring - tin foil, plastic wrap, extra paper towels and trash bags. Overall - it was a great house for our weekend with friends!"

  • Great House!

"Like the previous reviewer, I was able to make a last minute reservation for a 7 night stay over the thanksgiving week. We had family coming into town for my grandmother's memorial service. This place was wonderful. We were able to sleep four families, one to each room. The kitchen was huge and full of amenities that made it easy for us to have the rest of the family over for food and fellowship. There were enough dishes to cook, serve, and plate thanksgiving dinner for probably 25 people (we had 13). It was very cold, but we still made it across the street to explore the beach and the waterman pier. There were lots of games, toys for the kids, and a ping pong table. This House is very charming and set up really well so all could gather to play games, sit by the fire, watch a movie, or just visit. I would definitely recommend it, and I would stay again in the future!"
