Only 12 kilometers from the town of Rab lies Lopar, otherwise known as Sandy Paradise, due to numerous natural sandy beaches in Lopar ( which are quite rare in the Adriatic) and a lot of romantic, hidden away coves to spend your holidays at.
Surrounded by a bunch of tiny islands and islets (Goli otok, Grgur, Lukovac and Školjić, to name a few) Lopar has a lot to offer to tourists and has been working on it for more than hundred years, that is why it garnered the Blue Sail award for the best little town in Kvarner bay.
