The Welsh border country was made for walkers, with the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons as well as the beautiful River Wye. Walking up Pen-y-Fan is a must in the Brecon Beacons. There are plenty of local walks too. The Herefordshire Trail passes through Eardisley, and there’s also a good walk to the 900-year-old oak tree down the road. Just turn right out of the drive. The River Wye is one of the country’s most beautiful rivers, and the best way to enjoy the scenery is from the river itself. You can hire kayaks and canoes to paddle downstream and be picked up at an agreed spot further on. If you’re looking for a bit more adventure while you’re here, Oaker Wood Leisure is a great place for outdoor activities, with quad bikes, high ropes and more. North of Eardisley, before you come to Kington, you’ll find the Owl Centre. This small breeds farm and bird centre should be a hit with the little ones.

Inside was nicely decorated and clean.
Outside a bit shabby - rotten window sills, gutters need clearing, patio furniture in very poor condition. Outside seating area needed weeding. The Apple TV was a pain when we wanted to watch live TV.
