Located between Lucca and Pisa, two cities rich in history and culture, this holiday home is the ideal place to relax and enjoy the wonders that Tuscany has to offer.
As soon as you cross the threshold, you are greeted by a warm and welcoming atmosphere. We cannot recommend this accommodation highly enough.. We rented "The Gardener's Roof Top Apartment" - it is more spacious than the photos suggest (plenty of space for a family of 5).. Stunning views from all bedrooms and the ensuite.. Perfectly located for sightseeing trips (we visited Pietrasanta, Lucca, Pisa, Florence).. The huge fridge was much appreciated.. Private sunny patio with large table and plenty of chairs/loungers.. Lovely pool for chilled out days in between sightseeing.. A short drive to lots of beaches.. The property was super-clean inside and outside.. The pool was cleaned regularly.. WiFi was excellent (even reaching to the pool area!).. Excellent communication from the owners Inc. lots of useful, local information.. The Housekeeper (Vittoria) was at the property every day and happy to assist with any requirements.. We were able to check in early which was much appreciated.. This location offered a great balance for us (chill out/sightseeing/stunning views of beautiful Tuscany) for our family (2 adults, children aged 15, 11, 8).. We would DEFINITELY stay at this accommodation again.. Thank you to Stefano, Margarita and Vittoria

Not as good as expected, but location has potential

A lot of former guests have given this location 10/10, but we can unfortunately not give this kind of feedback. It is more a 6/10, but has potential to be a 10/10. We have rented a lot of houses and apartments in Spain, France and Italy so we have seen a lot of nice places. The location is nice, but the house and property need maintenance/painting. The pictures are obviously taken years ago, not giving the right impression of how it looks today. A rustic look, but you still need put money and time into the location on a regular basis to keep it fresh and updated. Pros: - nice location and view/nature - Vittoria, the host, is very friendly and helpful - Stefano, the owner, good dialogue and is quick to follow up question - nice bathroom connected to the master bedroom - nice separate terrace with privacy and nice furniture - own furniture next to the pool - nice pool with salted water - quite close to Lucca, Pisa and Viareggio - some nice restaurants in Camaiore, Caffe Sentale is really good Cons: - the bed in the master bedroom is very uncomfortable/hard with no proper mattress topper. The beds in the other bedrooms are ok for kids - pillows are useless in the master bedroom, no good sleep for the entire stay. Must be replaced with proper pillows (or bring your own) - lack of maintenance - the garden is nice, but too big for Vittoria to keep in proper condition. A gardener should cut plants, hedge and trees on regular basis - the road is in really bad shape the 2-300m

Es gibt an der Unterkunft nichts aber auch garnicht’s zu bemängeln. Super sauber, Anlage gepflegt und sauber, schöner Pool mit Liegen, die Verwalterin vor Ort immer ein Lächeln im Gesicht. Es war für uns ein sehr erholsamer Urlaub. Es gibt eine klitzekleine Anmerkung , die Straße vom Ort zur Unterkunft ist schon eine kleine Herausforderung, das ist aber auch wirklich das einzige Danke für die schöne Zeit

We hebben een goed verblijf gehad en zijn goed ontvangen. Het huisje/appartement had alles wat we nodig hadden. Veel ruimte en zeer goede douche. De omgeving was prachtig op alle momenten van de dag. De kinderen hebben zich goed vermaakt in en rondom het huis en het zwembad was prima. Het enige wat we wat vervelend vonden was het slechte wegdek van het laatste gedeelte naar de locatie toe.

Ruhige Lage mit Meerblick-Stilvolles Ambiente

Die "Dachwohnung des Gärtners" hat uns ausgesprochen gut gefallen. Absolute Ruhe (allerdings waren wir beinahe die einzigen Gäste), wunderschöner Ausblick auf das Meer und die Hügel um Camaiore. Pool an ausgesucht schöner Stelle. Die schattige Dachterrasse am Abend eine echte Zuflucht. Ausstattung sehr vollständig, Waschmaschine, etc. Ansprechpartner waren vor Ort oft zur Stelle und kümmerten sich gut um alles. Einziger Wehrmutstropfen ist die mehr als schlechte , enge Straßenzufahrt und auch die Auffahrt im Gelände bis zum Parkplatz.(nichts für tiefergelegte Limos) Sonst ein echtes Highlight!

Danke für diesen traumhaft schönen Aufenthalt

Wir waren mit 5 Personen und einem 4 jährigen Kind für 9 Nächte in La Polletta und könnten uns keinen besseren Aufenthalt vorstellen. Die Unterkunft war super sauber, stilvoll eingerichtet, die Terrasse nach hinten raus mit Blick auf die Berge ruhig und wunderbar bestuhlt. Die Kommunikation mit den Vermietern war sehr unkompliziert und herzlich. Die Umgebung lädt zum erkunden und genießen ein und der Pool ist groß genug zum planschen und schwimmen, auch wenn sich hier mehrere Gäste gleichzeitig aufhalten. Danke für diesen fabelhaften Urlaub!

Insgesamt kann ich sagen, dass das Haus und der Ort definitiv eine Reise wert sind. Sehr schnelle Kommunikation und Erledigung seitens des Vermieters. Zu erwähnen ist, dass das Haus renovierungsbedürftig ist. Ansonsten ist es eine wunderschöne große Grünanlage und der Pool eine große Aufwertung. Gesamt betrachtet würde ich das Haus wieder an Mieten.

Der Aufenthalt war super und sehr erholsam. Die Gegend ist herrlich, das Grundstück einfach wundervoll mit dem Pool. In der Wohnung fehlt es an nichts und alles war perfekt sauber. Die Betten sind sehr bequem, die Terrasse nach hinten herrlich ruhig. Wir möchten unbedingt wiederkommen.

Ho passato il week end dei Santi in questa meravigliosa casa con mia figlia e 3 sue amiche Una sistemazione ottimale: tre camere da letto e due bagni, ognuno ha potuto godere della propria privacy. Inoltre la cucina super attrezzata ci ha permesso di poter organizzare i pasti senza problemi. Avrei utilizzato anche la bella terrazza se non avesse piovuto per tutti e tre i giorni. Nel complesso siamo rimasti tutti molto soddisfatti.

Wir hätten gerne die Terrasse vorne gehabt ansonsten war alles ok. Beim Tor war eine Stange am Boden die beim durchfahren an das Auto stößt. Beim duschen kommt ein schwacher Wasserstrahl. Sonst war alles sauber und schön.

Un petit coin de paradis perdu au beau milieu de la Toscane

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié notre séjour dans "the gardener's roof top-flap". Il s'agit d'un appartement avec terrasse au dernier étage d'une résidence sur les hauteurs de Camaiore que l'on peut voir s'illuminer la nuit avec la mer au loin. La vue est réellement magnifique! La résidence se situe au calme, en pleine nature, la piscine est magnifique et bien entretenue. Nos enfants ont passé des heures à s'amuser dans l'eau! La gouvernante, Vittoria, nous a très bien accueillie et est restée disponible tout au long de notre séjour. La résidence se trouve à une distance raisonnable de tout ce qu'il y a de beau à visiter en Toscane (Florence, Lucques, Sienne, Pise etc). Nous vous conseillons d'aller manger au restaurant Le tre terrazze à Monteggiorio à 15 minutes de la résidence en voiture. Vous ne serez pas déçus! L'appartement était propre, spacieux et climatisé. Nous recommandons vivement cette location et espérons y retourner un jour!

What a wonderful place to stay!

We are most grateful to Stefano & Margherita Lazzari for making this property available. It suited our family of three children (12, 12 and 9) perfectly, both in terms of the facilities (especially the glorious pool with view) and as a base for Camaiore, Pisa, Lucca and beyond. We came to enjoy being out of the town (and quickly ceased to be daunted by the winding road up to the property) - there was a special ambience being in the foothills and having a view over the town and valley and across to the mountains. The flat itself had a rustic simplicity which suited us, and the property - with the pool - meant our holiday could provide for the children the types of activities we hoped for them when staying at home and not 'doing Tuscany'. A very special mention to Victoria who was the manager / housekeeper; and a similar very special mention to Stefano & Margherita who guided us to the property and took every care over us - including a most kind, generous (and unnecessary!) hamper to ameliorate the slightest of inconveniences when a tradesman came to attend the property. Such a thoughtful gesture, entirely in keeping with the kindness and warm hospitality we experienced. Camaiore is a delightful town and the area is stunning in its natural beauty. We deeply appreciated the communion with the mountain view that one sees from this property - best of all when bathing in the pool! Glorious! Thank you so much for a lovely holiday.

Vi boede i The Gardeners Roof Top og havde en fantastisk uge. Stor rustik lejlighed med egen privat terrasse og udsigt til byen i dalen fra alle vinduer. Let adgang til skøn pool med blødt saltvand, hvor man kunne dase mens man kiggede på bjergene. Man kan gå til byen (1½ km), men det går stejlt opad, når man går tilbage. Vi var afsted med teenagebørn, som også nød stedet og den lette adgang til at køre til byerne. Vi var i Pisa, Lucca og Firenze.

La petite maison dispose d'une très belle terrasse, de la climatisation à l'étage (très efficace et silencieuse), et de très nombreux ustensiles...ainsi que d'un barbecue ! La piscine (eau salée) est grande et chaude car très bien localisée. Le site est magnifique avec de très belles vues sur les montagnes environnantes. L'endroit est très calme et reposant. Superb Italian holiday

Stefano and Margheritta could not have been more helpful, from our initial telephone enquiry, through the booking process and sending us extensive information about the accommodation, area, local restaurants amenities etc. We were met by Vittoria who welcomed us warmly, showed us around and was on hand throughout our stay for any enquirers.The actual flat it just beautiful, it's cleaned to the highest standards, equipped with everything you could possibly need, comfortable and you will be blown away by the views - from every window. We loved the pool and gardens, and enjoyed breakfast and barbecues on the lovely private terrace. It would be easy to spend a week or two just relaxing here, but we travelled every day to Pisa, Lucca, Florence, Viareggio, Le Spezia, cinque Terre, and returned to eat in one of the local restaurants or laze by the pool. We travelled with our children, 20&17 who both agreed that this was the best holiday in the best accommodation and location. Thank you so much

Great Holiday Destination in the hills of Camaiore

We a family of five (three generations) had a wonderful two weeks in The Gardeners Rooftop Flat. Vittoria met us on arrival as was extremely helpful. The Flat is extremely well equipped with plenty of towels and beach towels! WiFi, a large fridge a washing machine and a dishwasher, two bathrooms and ample space on the secluded terrace for eating and relaxing in a very private atmosphere...great for midnight star-gazing as well! The Hamlet if very charming, set within beautiful grounds with a fabulous view. A wonderful pool area and room to relax and enjoy the stunning mountains. We had a memorable holiday and will certainly be returning.

Stefano likes to take photographs, Margherita loves reading. We live in Quattro Castella (a very small town between Parma and Reggio Emilia)
in Emilia Romagna where we rent out another house. That is why we are very seldomly in Camaiore during the summer
as we try to rent out as much as possible to cope with the high property and revenue taxes.
Mrs Vittoria the housekeeper will welcome you and show you around the property.
She is practicly every day on the property although she does not live on it. We are at any time at your complete disposal by telephone or by the Internet.

Because it is simple, off from the main roads thus silent from traffic, well exposed to the sun (facing West-South-West) comfortable,
with stunning views, far but in walking distance from center of town (2 kilometers down hill). A relaxing place.

What makes this property unique

Well the views are very pretty, silence around, very well kept garden and a wonderful swimming pool with gorgeous views.
The food in town is delicious and there are some very good groceries and vegetable shops around.
There are some wonderfull (quite easy) hiking trails up the hills and mountains, the seaside is just
20 minutes away ans so are some very nice historic towns to go to like Pisa, Pietrasanta and Lucca
(not more than 35 minutes car drive from the house) or even Florence wich takes you 45 minutes to reach.
Fancy shopping in Viareggio or Forte de marmi (20 minutes car drive).
