To mention just a few, the donkey race in Torrita di Siena is accompanied by processions in medieval dress and an impressive flag waving performance, and the yearly barrel pushing contest up the streets of Montepulciano in August is immensely popular. At the internationally acclaimed Teatro Povero di Monticchiello where residents take part in an open-air theatre in the summer , local cooking can be sampled in the evenings in the crypt of the church. Last but not least the wonderful countryside and picturesque streets of the little towns make this a walker's paradise.

Most Romantic Cottage!
Laura and her cottage are AMAZING! She is unbelievably kind, helpful, and made our stay very special. My wife and I stayed here for a few days on our honeymoon, and Laura's cottage is by far one of our favorite spots. Montepulciano is just a short drive away and getting to Cortona (per Laura's recommendation) isn't far either. The area surrounding the cottage is beautiful. We enjoyed sitting on the patio, drinking wine, making coffee + breakfast in the full kitchen, and waking up to the surrounding vineyards. Amazing value for the cost and absolutely worth the experience in every way.

Little Oasis
My fiance and I stayed in this lovely little place less than 10 minutes outside of Montepulciano just a few weeks ago in January. It was utterly charming, no less for its facilities and beautiful surroundings than for the welcoming and warmth of the family who own and let it, and have done some fabulous work restoring it. Laura, the owner, was brilliant, very accommodating, answered loads of questions we had and made us feel very at home. The flat we stayed in was part of a lovely old stone barn or stable, with french doors that opened up on a garden with a view of vineyards and hills-- a bit too cold to mess about with in January, but must be absolutely beautiful thrown open on a summer evening-- and we really liked the layout of the rooms-- plenty of space, living-room/kitchen (nicely kitted out, spotless and new) and bathroom (power shower!!! just what you want after a long trudge through the snowy hills) and then a pretty bedroom in a loft setting, a little like a gallery. A big plus for us given the season was that the heating worked so well: we have shivered in a number of lovely-but-oh-so-cold Tuscan stone houses, so it was really nice to stay warm and toasty for once while it snowed outside. We've also in the past tended to stay in places that were farther out from town than here, and while we've enjoyed the isolation, there is a lot to be said for being within a healthy walking distance of Montepulciano one way and the hills and trees and vineyards the other way, just there. We're coming back when the weather heats up!

Soggiorno Montepulciano fine agosto
La proprietà è molto bella, buona posizione e grande privacy. Proprietaria discreta e gentile.

Beautiful Place
Il Saraco is a lovely place situated approximately 1.5 miles from the village of Gracciano, Montepulciano. It is a beautifully restored barn will far reaching views amidst acres of vines. Our host, Laura, is very friendly and accommodating. The apartment is well furnished and spotlessly clean with a well equipped kitchen, large living area, good sized bathroom and two double bedrooms, which are air conditioned. The towels and linens are of good quality and our bed was very comfortable. All windows have shutters and bug blinds. There is a lovely private shaded patio and large flat garden with a swimming pool and plenty of natural shade. Free, reliable wifi is available and a good flat screen TV if you want to stay in touch with the outside world. Nearby there a several very good, reasonably priced restaurants. The location is great to exploring Tuscany and you catch a high speed train to places such as Rome from Chuisi. We will definitely visit again in the future.

Review of Holiday Stay
We were 4 adults and found that the accommodation was very comfortable and spacious. The rooms were large and airy and kept in immaculate condition throughout our stay. We enjoyed being able to barbeque outside in the garden. Although slightly off the beaten track, it was not far to travel to various towns in the region and one could travel to Florence and Pisa within a few hours. Laura, the hostess, was incredibly helpful with advice and assistance in sorting out problems with our Europcar hire. We would have been lost without her help as, although she is English, she speaks Italian fluently. All in all we would recommend this accommodation for a peaceful relaxed stay in Italy.
