Spacious, comfortable place to stay right by the lake. Safe neighborhood, secure parking, and the bilingual host treats you like family. Food is delicious and reasonably priced. Luis and his wonderful family are very knowledgeable about the area and go out of their way to make your stay comfortable and memorable. Highly recommend!

I have studied Tourism Management at University ESPE in Ecuador and I have learned lot of history about my town Araque and also I tell legends about lake, mountains, etc. and love to share with guests.

Why they chose this property

I have built "Casa de Luis" as I have lots of experience attending guests all over the world, during more than 25 years I have worked for hotels. I have lived my whole life here as my father passed down through the generations this piece of land. Araque Comunity it is a small town located in front of the lake San Pablo and surrounded by volcanoes, the sacred Imbabura, Cotacachi, Cusin, Mojanda, Culvilche. "Casa de Luis" is located just 300 meters away from parque Acuático Araque where on weekends and hollidays you can rent motorized boat to take a ride around the lake, go on horse riding, rent kayaks, buy delicious local food and much more.
You can visit other tourist atractions as famous Otavalo market, Condor Park (rescue center of raptors), Peguche waterfalls, weaving workshops, Cuicocha cráter lake, Cotacachi Leather City, and much are located 90 km form Quito airport and 8 km from Otavalo. I will love to help with suggestions to visit and arrange local tours with English speaking driver guide or I can go with you and show the main tourist atractions.
