About this property

Ca' Giulia Grand Canal

An apartment in the nerve center of the City, for four (available to accommodate child per request) , with Rialto Bridge and boating views and its own small terrace/balcony directly on the Grand Canal - yet moments to Campo Santi Apostoli, the jewel-box Church of Santa Maria Dei Miracoli and the alleged birthplace of legendary Venetian explorer Marco Polo (1254 - 1324).

Gently nudging the fairytale archways of the hidden little 'Campiello Del Remer' courtyard just across the water from the world-renowned Rialto Market area and the broad outside dining terraces of convivial and cosmopolitan wine bar/restaurant "Narzaria" and the well-loved and traditional 'Bancogiro' on the opposite bank, Ca' Giulia offers light, bright and airy accommodation charmingly decorated with a hint of 20's nostalgia and the indelible stamp of style and great taste - irresistible!

There's a spacious and elegant sitting room flooded with natural light from the large, beautiful and intricately screened windows and arched glazed water door overlooking the Rialto Bridge and the ever-changing spectacle of water-borne activity along the canal. Enormously comfortable and featuring ornithological prints set against walls and furnishings of soothing 'sage' and 'sea-spray' greens perfectly in keeping with its memorable waterside setting, the room has one the most antique Venetian floors (made up of powder, granules marble and mixed with transparent epoxy resin formulas), a painted closely-beamed ceiling, cushioned cane furniture and access, via the water door, to a small, dainty balcony all of your own - perfect for watching the gondolas row by, glass of Prosecco in hand.

There's a fully-furnished kitchen, well-equipped and with a washing machine, two comfortable and lovely master bedrooms with warm wooden flooring, plus two bathrooms - one en suite to the master bedroom with a tiled shower and the other with a bathtub. The apartment also has air-conditioning and Wi-Fi connection .

OUR COMMENT
A fantastically roomy and airy apartment, very central in the lively Rialto area and with breathtaking views over the Grand Canal and the Rialto Bridge, yet hidden away in a 'secret' campiello - the best of both worlds!

Within easy reach of a local 'Coop' supermarket for stocking up on supplies and moments to the newly opened and amazing 'T Fondaco Dei Tedeschi' luxury department store and to the many shops of the Strada Nuova.

Also close to a number of well-reviewed restaurants including 'Trattoria da Bepi Gia 54', 'Osteria La Bottega ai Promessi Sposi' and 'Casa Mia’ near the Church of Santi Apostoli, a great range of snacks at the popular ‘Rosticceria Gislon’ off Campo San Bartolomeo (their 'mozzarella in carrozza' is a must!), not forgetting the picturesque 'Taverna Del Campiello Remer' just moments from the apartment.

Pure Magic
This apartment is the Venice experience cornerstone of our trip! My fiancé and I have both been to Venice before, but staying here put this time a league of its own. The furnishings are calm, comfortable and beautifully done. The bar/cafe right outside is fantastic. The porch watching the gondolas and the lights on the water is an event. We found ourselves enjoying the time in the apartment as if it were an activity itself, while others paid to have dinner by the canal we simply read books on the couch and looked out at the water. The location by Rialto is central and made moving about the islands or coming back to take a rest simple. Views on Venice was amazing from start to finish. Excellent communication and assistance with requests, including the water taxi booking that can take you directly from the dock just a few steps away from the door. A wonderful woman named Anna met us at the vaporetto stop to show us how to get there and walk us through the property as well, she also sent us recommendations. Everything about this listing is what you are looking for. I hope to go again very soon!

Magnificent view The best we have ever had in any city But getting to venue is difficult if you are over 50 years Very challenging to drag heavy suitcases from canal transport. My back was in pain the next 4 days Apartment owners should warn guests about this and strongly advise water taxi

Spectacular!
This home is absolutely fantastic. There is no better waterfront terrace on the canal. All the action - gondolas go right by waiving and wondering “oh my god how did they get that place!” Its wonderful. A bit of action in the morning with all the deliveries but would stay here again ina heartbeat. Very close to the mall and Rialto bridge. Its worth the $ for sure!

Amazing stay
This property was in the perfect location, it was close to restaurants and shops, which made eating and shopping extremely convenient. We had a view of the Grand Canal and enjoyed sitting on the balcony at night. Would definitely stay again!

About the host

Hosted by Views On Venice

Host profile image
Views on Venice was founded in the late 1990’s when the concept of short term apartment rentals was in its infancy and rarely considered an option by most visitors to the city. As a ‘thirty-something’ Venetian excited by the new business and communication opportunities offered by the internet, I decided to link up with a close childhood friend in creating a partnership which, at the time, was a novelty in Venice.
The idea we had in mind was to approach the traditional management of my family’s apartments from an entirely different angle, while at the same time resisting the attentions of those wanting to transform my family's palazzo into a prestigious hotel.
Our aim was to offer these apartments, as well as those of friends, for rental to an international clientele who’d take pleasure in the comfort, freedom and authenticity of ‘living at home as a Venetian’ rather than merely observing the city from the confines of an anonymous hotel room or suite.
The common denominator then, as now, was to offer ‘something extra’ amidst an already extraordinary city - an added dimension which turns a ‘stay’ into an ‘experience’ and a 'dream' into 'reality'.
