Outside the gates, over a third of Transylvania County is part of Pisgah National Forest. Mountain views and another breathtaking vista are always just around the next bend. Take Highway 64 west 30 miles to Sapphire Valley Resort and some of North Carolina’s best snow ski slopes. Continue another few miles to the popular mountain town of Cashiers. The Pisgah National Forest is a land of mile-high peaks, cascading waterfalls, and heavily forested slopes. Comprised of over 500,000 acres, the Pisgah is primarily a hardwood forest with whitewater rivers, waterfalls and hundreds of miles of trails.

The area is home of not just Pisgah National Forest but also DuPont State Park and Gorges State Park. If you are an outdoors person you will love the scenic views, mountain trails and the waterfalls.

You will be just minutes from America’s favorite scenic byway, The Blue Ridge Parkway, biking, hiking, white water rafting, rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing, zip lining, Segway tour…just about any outdoor activity! Connestee Falls vacation

  • 4 of 5

We absolutely love this area. The view from the porch is amazing. The house was nice. Kitchen and dining area were great. The master bedroom is very nice. The three bathrooms were good. The downstairs bedroom had 2 nice double beds. The recreation room was enjoyed by all of us! We were not aware that there was no air downstairs and it did get a little warm. The third bedroom has only two twin beds . We thought there was a double bed and a twin bed. Parking was very good. We really enjoyed all the activities available to us in Connestee. Also, just a short drive to Brevard.

Relaxing cabin close to waterfalls!

  • 5 of 5

My friend and I stayed here on a girls' trip with our three kids. The house had plenty of space for us all. The kids enjoyed the pool table in the house, and the playground by the main Lake. The back porch is a perfect spot in the mornings for coffee and a beautiful view of the mountains. The house is very clean and the kitchen is newly redone. Saw lots of deer on the drive up the mountain and spotted white squirrels down by the college. Short drive to many trails and waterfalls (Pisgah Forest, Dupont Forest, Ceasar's' Head) for hiking and picnics. Downtown Brevard is a cute, friendly town. Enjoyed our stay--hope to do it again next summer!

VERY BAD!!

  • 1 of 5

My family rented this property and arrived very late at night. The house was DIRTY!! Smell of mold and mildew. We did not stay!! We rented a hotel for the night. There is not 4 bedrooms. The fourth bedroom is a laundry room with a bed in it!! Stair rail is loose. Looked like an abandoned house. We had to remove tree limbs from the driveway before parking our cars. Ceiling fan blades and lamp shades had dirt HANGING from them. HOWEVER... management was very understanding and did refund us for our hotel bills and found another clean appropriate house for the remainder of our stay. Call management before renting this house. Hope made things right for us, but this house was a MESS.
