Bienvenue dans une authentique maison grecque, pleine d'éléments traditionnels qui caractérisent la culture grecque. C'est une maison à la campagne où vous pouvez respirer l'air frais et obtenir la tranquillité d'esprit absolue. La maison rappelle la tradition grecque et la culture grecque! Sa partie intérieure abrite de nombreux objets intemporels rappelant la civilisation grecque antique alors qu'elle est également construite en pierre et en bois. Il a une cheminée intérieure et un four à bois traditionnel qui nous ramène à l'ancien temps! Il s'agit d'une authentique maison grecque traditionnelle près de Nauplie et Mycènes. Il est à la fois paisible et calme et très proche de toutes les destinations sociales que vous souhaitez visiter, telles que Nauplie touristique ou Mycènes historiques. Dans cette maison, vous vous sentirez comme un véritable visiteur de l'âge du bronze. L'environnement caillouteux et les détails en bois rendent le décor bien plus que vintage. Il y a aussi de nombreux objets intemporels et des meubles traditionnels dans toute la maison qui complètent ce tableau. Canapés classiques, assiettes en bois, verres en céramique, tapis et murs en bois. Il y a aussi, une tour en pierre, un chemin qui vous mène à l'entrée, une cheminée intérieure et un four à bois dans lequel vous pouvez préparer vos plats.

Awesome house. Very enjoyable, in the wilderness with many comforts (jacuzzi above all: very delightful after walking in Tyrint, Mikene, Palamidi). And also a mention to the very kind and efficient host! Great!

Happy Days at Vintage Stone House

It certainly is a beautiful, vintage property set in peaceful, authentic greek countryside. We love this type of rural home and loved every minute of being there. But at the same time it is close to important local facilities - like Napflion, the regional capital - and wonderful beaches all along the long coasts. Calm, warm waters particularly at Tolo and Kondyli beaches. John - our Host - couldn't have been more helpful especially when we were worried about finding the property and getting access in late evening! We would highly recommend this property to families and others.

Beautiful and atmospheric

We had a wonderful stay at John’s beautiful house. It felt like we were stepping back in time. My kids loved the soccer and basketball too. We made pizza in the wood fired oven and John’s father brought us a huge crate of oranges. They were such warm hosts and we also felt like we had total privacy. Just wonderful!

Amazing peace and silence

I was looking for an extremely quiet, comfortable accommodation with a good level of comfort. I am very glad to say I found it. The stone house has traditional character but also modern facilities, such as A/C, Wi-Fi etc. John, the host, is very flexible, welcoming and accommodating. I was also specifically looking for a pet friendly place, which is no easy task in Greece combined with my other requests. Thank you John for a truly peaceful, relaxing stay.

Quiet Among the Orange and Olive Groves

We stayed at the Stone Cottage as our jumping off point to explore the area around Nafplio. It was a perfect location to access Nafplio, the Mycenae and Epidaurus ruins - all were within 15-30 mins in either direction. We were also able to access the beaches along the Aegean sea in about 30 minutes as well. The house is located among Olive and Orange groves with wonderful views from the courtyard of the mountains. (Tip - pick up a bag of oranges sold at a stand along the road on the way to the house as there is an electric juicer and we had fresh squeezed juice every day). The cottage was perfect for our family of four. The house was kept nice and cool by AC, beds were comfortable, and we loved looking through all the quirky decorations throughout the house. My kids especially loved being able to play basketball in the evening after we ate outside in the courtyard. The amazing lavender all over the property smells wonderful. John was an excellent host. He was super responsive prior to our arrival answering all our questions and providing instructions. He checked in with us upon arrival to make sure we were all set and made himself available while we stayed. We loved this area of Greece and our stay at the Stone Cottage. Was a lovely adventure!

Charming, rustic hideaway with some quirks

Beautiful stone house easily slept the 5 in our family. Calming and peaceful for the most part, but the dog next door would bark until 1am every night, which was frustrating. All the contact with the John was quick and pleasant, but everything was in Greek. (Yes, I know…it’s in Greece.) But all of the house rules, instructions, etc., were all in Greek, which made things difficult for us, as I am the only member of my family who knows a little Greek. Could make things interesting for non-Greek travelers. Hot water was plenteous as long as you give the water heater an hour or so to heat up. Lemon trees outside offered the opportunity for my girls to make some homemade lemonade. Some reviews mentioned having a complimentary, continental breakfast, but we did not receive any. We were provided a large bag of oranges and a bottle of wine, though. Kitchen counters, appliances, etc., weren’t completely clean, and the house smelled like smoke that was trying to be covered up by air fresheners. I contacted the owner prior to our stay to ask about the smoke, since it is allowed in the house, and was told not to worry about it. Lastly, we were all excited about being able to get in the hot tub, as it appears in the photos. While the site says the hot tub is available year-round, in another place it says that it is only set up in summer months, but it is available upon advance request at other times. We came in February, so we were a bit disappointed. We should have read better, though.

L’emplacement est idéal pour rayonner dans la région. Il ne faut pas se fier à l’environnement immédiat en arrivant, qui n’est pas très beau. La maison est belle, confortable, on s’y sent bien. La communication avec le propriétaire est fluide. Nous n’avons pas eu de chance pour le calme, avec des travaux qui démarraient juste à côté tous les jours à 7h du matin, 7 jours sur 7, et les chiens qui aboyaient toutes les nuits.

Excellent gite

Rustique et authentique. Superbe vue et magnifique cour. avec une petite chapelle privée. Barbecue, intérieur rustique plein de charme. Nous avons passé 2 nuit mais aurions bien voulu rester plus longtemps ! 2 lits très confortables, un petit lit un peu dur, mais sinon tout était super.

Great stay!

We had such an amazing stay here! It really felt like we were transported back in time with the beautiful old decorations and the whole feel of the home itself. The host was quick to respond to our questions and very friendly. The location is great for travel to Nafplio, Epidaurus, and Mycenae , all within 30 minutes. The immediate neighborhood was olive tree groves and a few neighbors, which made it feel the real Greek living and not touristy. We enjoyed using the outside fireplace/ hearth in the evening. Overall, it was a wonderful stay! Would highly recommend.

I love musik, books and unexpected trips! I am working eyery day from 9:00 (in the morning) until 16:00 (afternoon) and some times is difficult to welcome you! This is an authentic, traditional Greek house near Nafplio and Mycenae. It is both peaceful and quiet as well as very close to any social destinations you may wish to visit, such as touristic Nafplio or historical Mycenae. In this house, you will feel like a true Bronze Age’s visitor. The stony environment and the wooden details make the whole scenery a lot more than vintage. There are also, many timeless objects and traditional furniture all over the house that complete this picture. Classic sofas, wooden plates, ceramic glasses, carpets and wooden walls. There is also, a stony tower, a path which leads you to the entrance, an internal fireplace and a wooden oven in which you can prepare your food. Using Hot Tub on April until September.

Τhe neighborhood is totally quiet and peaceful. There are neighbors that do not bother you. For whatever you need I am at your disposal. The neighborhood is quite peaceful. There are a few houses next to yours and the neighbors will not create any problems to you. You will be able to relax, breathe fresh air, recharge your batteries with no stress or too many people around you. Of course, you have the choice to move and visit more crowded destinations in order to feel like a true tourist in the city. I would be available any time to help you with anything you may need. Finally, I can suggest places and sightseeing worth to be visited for you and your company. In the internal part of the house, there are 2 bedrooms and 3 comfortable beds, a bathroom, a wooden dining room, a classic living room and a beautiful kitchen. They are all traditionally “born” and decorated of course. Using Hot Tub on April until September.
