Better than we imagined!

  • 5 of 5

This was perfect for us, just what we needed. I'm glad all other arrangements I looked into fell through because I would have missed this treasure. We will be coming back and doing this again. Thanks so much!

Not exactly what we thought

  • 3 of 5

The cabin has a wonderful view of Big Canoe's lake and mountains. Nice deck and swing,

Was not a 1 bedroom, but a studio. No closet. Tiny bathroom. TV did not work and took several phone calls to owner who finally suggested the batteries in the remote might be dead, which they were.

Good for a very brief stay.

Owner's Response: First she couldn’t operate the WiFi- Then Late on Friday night she said there was no signal on TV. She was unpleasant & condescending. I called the TV provider- no prob with coverage-so when she was back to unit I spent 10 minutes trouble shooting w her and finally got her to change the batteries IN REMOTE- voila. She wanted to know how I was going to compensate her. I don’t compensate for battery changing! In return she broke my dinnerware and let a big pile of you know what in the toilet. What a class act!

A Dream Come True

  • 5 of 5

"Dreamcatcher" fulfilled my desire to spend retreat time in a treehouse with a beautiful view. It fulfilled all my wishes for a peaceful, comfortable home among the trees of Georgia. I really loved the swinging bench where I spend most of the day. The proximity to Gibbs Gardens was a plus. Thank you for this lovely home away from home. I would love to return some day.

cozy with great view!

If you are looking for a space to reconnect with your spouse or yourself, this is it. Relaxing. Peaceful. Well decorated but not cluttered. It is a small space that has been well thought out. Easy to access everything Big Canoe has to offer.

Nice place for a short stay

  • 3 of 5

We were staying in big canoe for a friends wedding, and the location of our tree topper was great. That being said, we felt like it was a neglected rental property. It really needs a good cleaning, and for the basics supplies to be refreshed after each paying customer ie. paper towels, toilet paper, dish soap etc. Also we weren't sure if the previous renter had left the door open for an extended amount of time before we got there, but once the sun went down the bugs came out... tons of moths and flying insects. Overall it was an ok stay, but it left a little to be desired.

Owner's Response: In two days it's unusual for a guest to go through 8 oz of soap in both the kitchen and 8oz of soap in the bathroom - and 4 rolls of toilet paper....but that being said- there were still extra supplies under each sink. The guest had 4 different phone numbers to call if there were any problems- not one call. Yes you are in the woods and we clean each cabin thoroughly with a 36 point cleaning system. We put a lot of work and effort to make this an amazing experience- we are sorry you were unable to enjoy your visit. Any future guest reading this- if you're unhappy cancel immediately for a full refund. If you can't find extra supplies stocked under the sink please call us and we'll get you taken care of - I'd rather hear about it right away instead of after you leave!
