Curlew cottage was comfortable and served us well as a base for some walking and exploration of southern Scotland. The garden is excellent for dogs. Creetown doesn't offer a great deal but there is an excellent butcher's as well as a shop and EV chargers. It's also close to the Galloway forest with some easy trails.

A cosy cottage, well equipped and well placed for exploring western Dumfries and Galloway. There are also walks from the cottage. There were nice welcoming touches - a bottle of wine and a voucher for sausage from the local butcher in the village. Also biscuits for the dog. This is a dog friendly cottage and has an enclosed garden although we didn't get to use it due to the weather. The pub in the village has closed but the Lairds Inn on the caravan park is only a 15 minute walk away and is dog friendly.

Had a lovely holiday in this warm and comfortable cottage.

Had a lovely holiday in this warm and comfortable cottage. Lots of dog walks available from the door, village shop and butcher very helpful and well stocked. Curlew cottage is in a terrace of similar cottages, so some noise from neighbours. Garden is huge- enjoyed sitting in the summer house. It's a dark skies area, on a clear night lots of stars are easily visible. Location close to some lovely beaches, lots to see and do in the area, and a saltmarsh just across the road where you can see herons, egrets and many other birds . Take the binoculars!
