Welcome to San Buenas, a lovely gated community. This gorgeous Villa is 2343 sf. of luxurious living. The lot is expansive at 1/2 acre and slopes down to a slow running creek that is fed by natural springs on the San Buenas property. The view to the North - East is stunning. The Talamanca Mountains rise up to approximately 2200 feet above sea level, more than 2100 feet from the elevation of the back yard.
Mountain views are special in that they are always changing with overhanging clouds and angles of the sun during the day and the moon at night. This house includes a large tiled refreshing pool. The finishes are luxury from start to finish, solid Loral wood cupboards and woodwork, granite counter tops, and expertly laid porcelain tile. The Villa is eloquently decorated inside and out with all of the comforts of a home.
Everything you want in Costa Rica's Southern Zone is in easy driving distance. The village of Ojochal with its fine dining is only 15 minutes north and Palmar Norte is 15 minutes south and both provide for banking and shopping and there are four very secluded beaches within an easy 30 minute drive.

In November 2016, my wife and I flew to Quepos, Costa Rica to begin our search for a house that we could buy as a second home. After searching for several weeks along the southern Pacific Ocean side of the country, we found a new 2-bedroom house, located just inside the gated San Buenas Golf Resort and Spa. The house, situated on a half acre lot, with a private outdoor pool and two covered patios, and wonderful views of the surrounding rain forest, was exactly what we were looking for. With vaulted tongue-and-groove teak wood ceilings and teak cabinets throughout, the house is extremely comfortable with its open living design. The flowers, bushes and trees, including 19 fruit trees surrounding the house, were professionally done by a local Costa Rican landscaping company whose friendly employees seemed to enjoy working in our yard as much as we do. Another thing that attracted us to the house was that a membership to the golf club was included with the purchase and any two residents can play the course for free every day. We also had internet, satellite TV service and 3 a/c’s installed, so every comfort has been provided. With easy access off Highway 34, a 4-wheel drive vehicle is not really necessary although if someone wanted to do any exploring around the surrounding countryside, it would probably be recommended. We love this house and enjoy socializing with the owners and renters of the golf course’s condo community. The daily Happy Hour at the Condo’s pool is a fantastic way to end the day and watch the sun dip below the Pacific Ocean.

Where am I and What’s Nearby? We are about 10 miles S of Ojochal, a great place for fine dining, cafes and local shopping. We are about 15 miles S of Uvita, which has banking, 2 supermarkets, shopping, restaurants, a pharmacy, a medical clinic, and various adventure and water sport offers. Uvita is also home to the Marina Ballena national marine park, the Whale’s’ Tale, Uvita Beach and Uvita Falls. We are less than 30 miles S of the laid-back surfer mecca of Dominical, which has a great beach, some unique shops and cafes and a surf bum/beach boy vibe. There is also a nice private nature reserve and bird-watching station at Hacienda Baru. We are about 4 miles N of Puerto Cortes, which has a large modern regional hospital, restaurants, banking, hardware, and a small village center. We are less than 10 miles N of Palmar Norte, which is a shopping, dining and financial center for the Osa district. The Boruca Village, the home of the indigenous Boruca people is 30 miles away. We are less than 30 miles from the river town of Sierpe, which offers mangrove wildlife and bird-spotting tours and boat rides to Drakes Bay and Corcovado, Costa Rica’s largest national wildlife park on the remote Osa peninsula. The closest large city is San Isidro, about 50 miles to the NW. In other words, we are remote, isolated, and at the center of everything.
