About this property
Reduced rate for stunning victorian cottage in the heart of Cowbridge
Aubrey Cottage is a beautifully renovated 3 bedroom victorian cottage, set in the heart of the pretty market town of Cowbridge. Ideally located to enjoy the many beaches along the south Wales coast, just 20 minutes to the popular sandy bay and surfing meca at Rest Bay, Porthcawl. The property offers a substantial degree of comfort with a stylish interior design incorporating a blend of traditional and contemporary styling. The bright spacious open plan lounge has a comfy sofa, two arm chairs and lovely lighting options to create the mood you desire. There is a large dining table adjacent to the kitchen area that seats a minimum of six adults. The new fully equipped kitchen is a joy, it has a fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave and a combination gas/electric hob and over. There is an excellent range of cookware, utensils and crockery for those guests who wish to fully self cater or entertain family and friends. Guests love the luxurious bathroom with it's freestanding bathtub and walk-in corner shower and many have commented on enjoying their morning papers and coffee in the sunny breakfast conservatory with French doors that lead out into a peaceful, private sun-filled stone walled rear garden with a lounging patio, BBQ and fire pit. My favourite part of the house is the first floor landing, flooded with light and reflection from the clever sun tunnels, a spacious area with additional guest storage, leading to the 3 stylish guest bedrooms.
Just moments walk away from the high street, Aubrey Cottage is perfectly located to enjoy all that Cowbridge offers with its lovely independent shops, cafes, traditional pubs and award winning restaurants. The heritage coastal path and beaches are a short drive away. Cowbridge offers excellent transport links to all parts of South Wales. The M4 and A48 give excellent access to the Gower Peninsual and Brecon Beacons, loved for their stunningly beautiful scenery and ever popular with families, walkers and the family dog. Cardiff is a lively hub for music, theatre, sports and shopping and is just a 20 minute drive away or easily accessed on half hourly local bus that picks up just down the road from Aubrey Cottage.

Comfortable and lovely cottage just a short stroll from town where we picked up fish and chips at night and coffees in the morning. Host as gracious- appreciated the details of sweet treats and bubbly and high quality linens and an impeccably clean and welcoming place to stay. Wished we had longer.
We found the cottage spotlessly clean and comfortable for our trip to Cowbridge and just a stone's throw from all the town's shops, bars and restaurants. Communication with Denise was effortless. We had a wonderful time and would love to return here another time.
We had a brilliant time here. We went into Cardiff easily on the bus and also accessed the beautiful coastline. The house is immaculate with all that you could want. It is comfortable and within a short walk to the shops, cafes and restaurants and river. Cowbridge is a little gem. Thank you

Thank you for a lovely review. You've kindly highlighted all the things we love about Cowbridge 🥰
Couldn't have been a better location for visiting the lovely town of Cowbridge. There are many good restaurants and every convenience just a short walk away. The house was very comfortable with a well equipped kitchen. We especially enjoyed the Welsh cakes from the Elephant & Bun in the Welcome package. We're looking forward to our next visit. Thank you, Denise.

Thank you Ellen
It was a pleasure hosting your stay and we'd be delighted to have you stay anytime in the future.
Our family of four adults stayed at Aubrey Cottage for three nights. It was the perfect location and accommodation, exactly as advertised. Clean, cozy yet modern and updated. The garden is lovely too! Perfect spot for an early morning coffee. Everyone was comfortable. We had everything we needed and Denise was always quick to respond to any inquires from the moment we booked. Cowbridge is a lovely little town - lovely people, great for early morning walks, rich history, shops, multiple cafes/coffee shops and excellent restaurants. The Bear and Ground were favourites. Waitrose or Filco just minutes walk away for a few groceries. Cowbridge was perfect spot and central amongst our drives to visit Cardiff, southwest coast, Mountain Ash and throughout the valley.
Freshly done up, practical accommodation, close to the services on the High Street.
Parking close by, with two cars, was never problem.
Obviously a well-run establishment, with plenty of space. The shower was a bit cosy, but there was a nice-looking bath we never got round to using.
Well equipped house in good order with a welcoming host. Very comfortable and spacious. The terrace area at the back was lovely in the sunshine. Only just around the corner from all the shops, restaurants etc in Cowbridge - we really enjoyed our stay.

About the host
Hosted by Denise Cooper
We are a couple who have spent our careers in construction, gardening design and undertaking several home renovations. I have a passion for interiors and love the challenge of bringing the finishing touches to a newly renovated space (not to mention all the lovely shopping!!) My husband, Dave, has spent his career building homes, extensions and undertaking historical restoration work. The renovation of Aubrey Cottage was challenging to say the least, but we are really happy with the results of our effort and have fallen in love with both the property and Cowbridge so our original plan to sell the property has been put on hold whilst we enjoy sharing this lovely property with our guests. The feedback has been absolutely wonderful and makes us really proud of our achievement.
Why they chose this property
Aubrey Cottage has only been listed as a holiday property since Autumn 2019. It is right in the heart of Cowbridge, offering guest all the comfort of a cosy home that has undergone a complete renovation, transforming it into a contemporary modern space, perfect for a family holiday. We've had fantastic feedback from our guests who always comment on how welcoming and comfortable the property feels.
What makes this property unique

Cowbridge is one of the most popular towns in South Wales, attracting visitors to its pretty high street, elegant boutiques and award winning pubs and restaurants. Direct route into Cardiff city centre in less and 30 minutes by bus or car.
