Este es realmente un escenario desde el cielo con vistas incomparables y espectaculares sobre olivares, campos, Pisa y su famosa Torre Inclinada claramente visibles en el medio del terreno con el Mar Mediterráneo brillando en el horizonte. Este es un lugar inspiradoramente hermoso y muy especial.

La Lucertola está perfectamente ubicada para aprovechar al máximo las muchas glorias de la Toscana y más allá. Pisa, está a solo 20 minutos en coche, al igual que Lucca, con sus murallas de la ciudad y su inmaculado centro medieval con exquisitas tiendas boutique. Florencia está a solo una hora de distancia, la costa a menos de 30 minutos y las espectaculares Cinque Terre se puede llegar en poco más de una hora. Esta ubicación única ofrece dos casas maravillosas, independientes y bellamente decoradas, las cuales están en dos pisos y cada una es muy espaciosa. Se pueden alquilar juntos o individualmente.

Esta casa ofrece una cocina grande y totalmente equipada con encimeras de mármol, una mesa de comedor hecha a mano con seis sillas para comer en el interior cuando sea necesario. Para los meses más fríos hay calefacción central y una chimenea de cocina en pleno funcionamiento, ¡muy acogedora! El salón está al lado de la cocina y es muy espacioso y confortable. Cuenta con dos maravillosas sofás-cama de lujo de alta gama (una doble y una individual), así como una SmartTV, reproductor de DVD, libros y una gran caja de juguetes para los más pequeños. Wi-Fi gratuito funciona tanto en toda la casa como en las áreas exteriores.

Arriba, las dos habitaciones tienen balcones que ofrecen vistas panorámicas fabulosas e ininterrumpidas. Ambos son muy espaciosos y han sido bellamente decorados con murales pintados a mano de plantas y pájaros que reflejan la belleza y la tranquilidad del espacio exterior. Hay dos baños, uno de ellos en suite con el dormitorio principal. El baño principal tiene bañera y ambos baños tienen duchas.

Hay una gran terraza fuera de la casa con tumbonas, una pérgola de sombra, con mesa de madera hecha a mano y seis sillas, ideales para relajarse, tomar el sol, cenar y, en general, contemplar el infinito. Hay una zona de barbacoa y un horno de leña original, perfecto para hacer pizzas y mucho más: ¡diversión fantástica para todos y para todas las edades y habilidades culinarias!

La hermosa piscina compartida de agua salada se encuentra en un área segura cercada del jardín con una exclusiva ducha de olivo, dos áreas dedicadas para tomar el sol y relajarse, encima y debajo de la piscina, tumbonas, pérgolas, mesas y sillas. ¡Este lugar verdaderamente especial y único realmente refresca el cuerpo, la mente y el alma!

Great Location and VIEW!

PROS- great location, wonderful views of valley and Pisa; definitely rustic Italian; comfortable beds and pillows; excellent appliances; great outdoor eating area and pool area; great spot to do day trips all around Lucca, coast and Florence; lovely greenery all around the property; our host did us a solid by doing a light grocery shop for us as we had been travelling for 22 hours straight! sweet little veggie garden you are allowed to share in and the town of Lucca is fabulous! CONS- the drive to the property can be a challenge - smaller car ok; NO AC for those killer summer heat ways- could definitely use a few more large fans; wishing the pool was better maintained during our stay; could use access to pool towels- none provided; wished the main front hedges were trimmed lower so you could have a view while eating outside. I miss Lucca and that view!

Wonderful adventure in Italy

I have stayed in Italy many times, but this was clearly my favorite experience. The accommodations are perfect and stocked with all the essentials. The owners were lovely on our first night when provided a wonderful meal as my wife had fallen earlier and broke her wrist and leg. We were tired and sad. They cheered us all up. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to my friends. Make sure you take their recommendation on a 4 wheel vehicle. The hull is quite steep but worth the trip the view… amazing

This is an exceptionally wonderful property!

This is an exceptional property and we had the most fabulous holiday! The house is spacious, cool and airy and has the most wonderful views over the plain to Pisa and to the Mediterranean beyond - we even saw Corsica! I will never forget the hours spent looking out over the views from the terrace in front of the house and from the pool which is just fantastic! Thank you to Luisa and Colin - great hosts - on hand but never invasive - we will be back!

A fantastic view, clean house, modern appliances, barbecue, pizza oven, fresh herbs and vegetables from the garden, pool... everything you need for a great stay. It's near both Lucca and Pisa. Enjoyed dinners on the outdoor table and had a wonderful stay.

Beautiful Location

We had a very relaxing stay. Accommodations were excellent and our hosts were very welcoming and attentive to every need. We took part in the chef cooked dinner which was amazing along with the beautiful county-side view. Would highly recommend staying at this location. Don't let the road into the farm house scare you...once you've done it once, its a breeze. Hope to come back to Pisa soon.

Fantastic view

We were 4 people i House 1- and we all loved the house, the amazing views and the lovely pool. The place is quiet and relaxing and still close to Pisa and Lucca. We enjoyed the "Chefs at home" -like being in a restaurant -but at home:) We loved that we were allowed to use the vegetables and fruit from Luisa and Colins garden. We would like to go back another time and recommend this lovely place :)

Wonderful villa in beautiful countryside, fabulous hosts too!

We have just returned from a wonderful trip to Tuscany staying at this property. The views are stunning across the Tuscan valley looking over to Pisa and even include a view of the tower! Luisa and Colin are the perfect hosts, very welcoming and on hand if you need any advice on the area. The property is clean and well equipped with a good wifi connection and everything you need to enjoy your stay. A BBQ and pizza oven are at your disposal, we need more practice with the pizza's though! I would not hesitate to recommend this property for peace and quiet, amazing views and plenty of places to visit within easy reach by car or train. If hiring a car we would recommend a 4 wheel drive, but the views when you get up to the property are spectacular and well worth the drive! Thank you Luisa and Colin for a lovely stay.

Excelente Casa de vacaciones

Tanto la localización como la casa son para unas vacaciones relajadas y estupendas. La localización es bonita, en una ladera de una montaña con vistas explendidas , incluso se puede ver la torre de Pisa a lo lejos. Las ciudades más cercanas ( Pisa y Lucca) estan a unos 15 minutos en coche. El lugar donde se encuentra la casa es perfecto para relajarse del ajetreo de las ciudades, pero con la posibilidad de ir a ellas en poco tiempo. Florencia se encuentra a una hora en coche y la playa mas cercana a 30 minutos. La casa tiene todas las comodidades necesarias: Una sala con sillones y televisión con dvd, ideal para quedarse dormido viendo una pelicula después de un día largo haciendo turismo o de un día de playa. Las habitaciones con todo lo necesario, incluido esa manta extra que a veces se necesita si se tuviera frío. Con un balcón para disfrutar de una vista explendida y un ambiente tranquilo nada más levantarte. La cocina equipada con las comodidades necesarias: lavavajillas, calentador de agua, toda vajilla y cuberteria necesaria para desayunos, comidas y cenas. A mayores la posibilidad de cocinar en un horno de leña que se encuentra en un lateral de la casa, excelente para hacer pizzas. En la finca también está disponible una piscina cerca de las casas, con espacio para relajarse y resfrescarse del calor. El accesso a la casa es por un camino empinado y en zig zag, con curvas cerradas de tierra y grava. La primera vez impresiona, pero las siguientes veces te vas acostumbrando. Resulta más dificil para coches muy bajos y si se lleva mucho peso. Los dueños son muy agradables, nos han ayudado siempre que lo hemos necesitado. Me gustaría remarcar que se nota el esfuerzo y el cariño que han puesto en esta finca y casas. Han creado un lugar maravilloso gestionando por una gente maravillosa. Planeamos volver.

comfortable home with great views

We stayed at La Lucertola for 2 weeks in July '16, and wish that we could have stayed longer! The owners, Colin and Luisa, were very helpful and friendly...suggesting local attractions, booking dinner reservations, and providing everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Colin was able to get a reservation for us at a very special restaurant (Villa Bongi) for our anniversary dinner, and even helped us to arrange a cooking class at the house. They were close enough to be helpful, but still gave us all of the privacy we needed. The views from the house, and dinners on the terrace are some of the fondest memories of our trip. The pool was also a great way to stay cool during the hot Tuscan summer. The house is situated between the towns of Lucca and Pisa and is in a great spot to facilitate many day trips. You have to drive up a steep and twisting driveway to get to the house, so make sure your car has a high clearance or you won't make it up to the top. Once up there, the views from everywhere in the house are spectacular (you can see the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the sea, a quaint villa, and sweeping views of the valley). The town of Pugnano is small and there are not many restaurants/markets within walking distance, which is probably the only negative I have about the stay. There are, however, plenty of places that are a short drive away. In short, the house was in a great spot and was very comfortable with very welcoming hosts. I would recommend it for anyone!

Fantastiskt boende i en skogssluttning

Vi är jättenöjda med detta boende. Fint och fräscht invändigt. Tjocka väggar som klarade att hålla värmen ute förvånansvärt bra. Utsikten och omgivningen var också helt otrolig. Helt omgiven av grönska. Kändes som man bodde mitt i skogen med utsikt över skogen och byarna närmast samt Pisa i bakgrunden. Vi kom när det var mörkt så bilkörningen var spännande med serpentinvägar sista biten, man vande sig dock ganska snabbt om man är en hyfsat van bilförare. Fint poolområde. Trevlig värdfamilj!

Das Haus hat unsere Erwartungen weit übertroffen. Der Ausblick aus jedem Fenster und der Terrasse ist atemberaubend. Der Blick geht über Pisa und Livorno bis zur Küste, gesäumt von einer wunderschönen Berglandschaft. Lucca ist nur 10 Minuten Autofahrt entfernt. Pisa ca. 15 Minuten. Florenz ist in 1 h 20 Min. erreichbar. Der Pool ist sehr gepflegt, so wie das ganze Haus. Die Besitzer sind unglaublich service-orientiert. Sie boten an, Einkäufe für uns im Vorfeld zu machen, damit der Kühlschrank schon voll ist, wenn wir ankommen. Zudem hatten sie wertvolle Tipps für uns bezüglich Freizeitgestaltung mit Kindern, Restaurants, Strände, etc.. Die Atmosphäre war sehr herzlich und freundlich.

Very convenient location with amazing views

The four of us rented the house for our first vacation in Tuscany. The house was exactly what we had expected - from the owners' description as well as the reviews. The drive up was a little nerve breaking, but it totally worth it once you get on top of the hill. The view is to die for - absolutely amazing! Luisa and Colin are very friendly hosts. We felt absolute privacy while staying at their guest house. The house was very clean and well equipped. We had everything we needed. It is about 20 minutes drive from the Leaning Tower in Pisa, 20 minutes drive to the center of Lucca and 30 minutes drive to the beach (marina di Vecchiano). We felt that we made a very good choice by staying at this property and will definitely recommend it to our friends. It was an amazing vacation and we hope that one day we will go back. Thanks Luisa and Colin!

Heerlijke vakantie met fantastisch uitzicht

Wij (gezin met twee kinderen 9 en 11 jaar uit) verbleven een week in Farmhouse 1, begin april 2015. Het huisje was ruim en gezellig ingericht, met een open haard in de keuken die we bijna iedere avond gebruikten. Het uitzicht vanuit het huisje en het terras was fantastisch! De gastheer en gastvrouw Luisa en Collin waren hartelijk en behulpzaam. Zeer prettig dat ze goed Engels spraken. Het was ook geen enkel probleem dat we op de dag van vertrek wat langer konden blijven (omdat er op die dag geen nieuwe gasten kwamen). Aangezien het 's avonds nog kil was, was het fijn dat de verwarming iedere avond en ochtend aan ging. We waren niet helemaal voorbereid op het zeer steile weggetje omhoog naar het huis, met zeer scherpe haarspeldbochten. Maar na de eerste enigzins spannende keer, raakten we eraan gewend en was het goed te doen. Het is wel aan te raden om niet een grote lage auto mee te nemen, maar juist een wat kleiner compact model. We snapten nu ook waarom in Italie zoveel kleine autootjes rondrijden. Wat we leuk vonden is dat we vrij in de tuin rond konden lopen en sinaasappels en citroenen konden plukken. Er was ook een pad omhoog de berg op, met een mooi uitzicht. In de omgeving zijn veel mogelijkheden voor uitstapjes. Binnen en half uur rijden ben je in Pisa, Lucca en aan het strand. Vooral Lucca vonden we leuk, waar we fietsen huurden en over de stadsmuur hebben gefietst. Ook is het niet ver naar het strand, ongeveer een half uur. Op een uur rijden ligt Florence. Als enige aanmerking zou ik kunnen maken dat het bereik van de wifi binnen in het huisje niet goed was vanwege de zeer dikke stenen muren van het huis. Maar buiten op het terras ging het prima. Stunning views in a beautiful home

The first thing I would like to say is that the owners were very gracious hosts and very helpful, including loaning me a guitar for the week we were there. Awakening the first morning and opening the shutters seemed somewhat surreal. The view was breathtaking, looking out across the valley and seeing the leaning tower of Pisa in the distance. We spent two days relaxing around the pool, made ventures into Pisa, Lucca and wine tasting in Monte Carlo and generally had a wonderful time. We made use of the BBQ's as well which, located in a grotto behind the house also provided an amazing place to play the guitar! The house is well appointed, equipped and comfortable although the dishwasher quit working while there. The tomatoes from the garden were incredibly delicious for making Caprese salad and there were egg plants and herbs at our disposal as well. The one caveat I must mention is the drive up to LaLucertola. The first few times was a nail biting, nerve racking experience. Very steep with hairpin turns. The location is also not suitable for anyone with physical limitations. Regardless, I would recommend this property for it's value, stunning vistas and wonderful hosts.

La Lucertola er et flott sted å feriere!

La Lucertola er et flott sted å feriere! Stille og fredelig, men allikevel svært nær både Pisa og Lucca. Øvrige interessante steder i Toscana er også en kort kjøretur unna. Leiligheten har alle de bekvemmeligheter som du trenger for å få et minnerikt ferieopphold. Utsikten fra La Lucertola er storartet og du har store deler av Toscana under dine føtter. Å sitte under pergolaen utover kvelden med god mat og et godt glass vin og skue ut over Pisa er både romantisk, fascinerende og bidrar til fred i skjel og sinn. Leiligheten har to gode og romslige soverom og to bad som muliggjør at to par uten problem kan feriere der over tid uten at leiligheten virker for liten. Det er i tillegg god mulighet for å ha med seg barn. Utearealene med solsenger, pergola med gode spisemuligheter samt tilgang på wi-fi forsterker et storartet opphold. Ute er det også tilgang på grønnsaker som vi hentet fra hagen til måltider og i tillegg vedfyrt grill og steinovn som ga matlagingen et spennende preg. Svømmebassenget omkranset av oliventrær på eiendommen, bidrar til å holde kroppstemperaturen på et behagelig nivå og utsikten er også her formidabel. Du deler eiendommen sammen med gjester i naboleiligheten samt at vertskapet bor like ved i et eget hus. Dette opplevde vi som helt uproblematisk og det er godt å kunne henvende seg til vertskapet på en enkel måte hvis det skulle bli nødvendig. Veien opp til La Lucertola kan oppleves som noe utfordrende fordi veien er bratt med svært skarpe svinger. Du er helt avhengig av egen bil og vi anbefaler at den ikke bør være for stor. Vi vurderer sterkt å feriere i Toscana og La Lucertola også til neste år.

Mahtava ja tunnelmallinen asunto Toscanassa!

Saavuimme 5.7.2014 vähän ennen puolta yötä ja siellä Luisa ja Colin toivottivat meidät iloisina tervetulleiksi. He olivat myös hankkineet meille vähän juomista (vettä jne) jääkaappiin, koska kaupat eivät olleet enää tuohon aikaan auki. Asunnolta todella mahtavat näkymät ja helppo kulku lähikaupunkeihin (esim. Pisa, Lucca). Pisan torni jopa näkyy ulko-ovelta. Hyviä ravintoloita lähistöllä sekä mahdollisuudet itse tehdä ruokaa puugrillissä tai kiviuunissa. Auto tosin välttämätön, ainakin meidän mielestä. Rannalle ajaa noin puolisen tuntia ja viinitiloille vajaa tunnin. Lähin ravintola 1,5 km päässä, johon voi hyvin myös kävellä. Kaiken kaikkiaan, täydellisyyttä hipova reissu, josta majoitus teki ison osan. Asunnossa ei ilmastointia, mutta kivitalon paksut seinät pitävät viileyden sisällä. Suosittelen!

We had a wonderful week with perfect weather7 Luisa and her family were on hand to greet us when we arrived and made us feel very welcome. We were shown over the house and everything was explained to us. We tried a couple of restaurants within 5minutes of the house both very good. One of the highlights of the week was one evening we were sitting outside and the whole hillside was lit up with fireflies magical

March/2014 stay - Thank you for a wonderful stay!

First off, I would like to point out that I don't like writing reviews that just say "Everything was just wonderful" as I don't think those types of reviews are very helpful to anyone. That being said, Colin & Luisa have made it virtually impossible to find fault with anything with regards to our stay here. The laneway up to the place has some wicked switchbacks which made us smile and laugh every time we went in and out. The directions provided to get to the house were perfect and we literally drove right up to the car parking area straight away. We were warmly greeted by Colin & Luisa who showed us around the house and the grounds. The pride of ownership in this place is very obvious as the house was very clean, newly decorated and well maintained. The views out the windows and from the terrace out front are spectacular and the pictures here just can't convey that. You have a grand view over the town of Pisa and the surrounding valleys. The house is perfectly situated for day trips to Florence, Pisa & Lucca. Venice and San Marino are an easy three hour drive away and we did day trips to both of those places while we were here. The weather was cool at night and warm in the day time and the house was always comfortable with an automatic heating system on a timer. It is only a ten minute drive to various shops and grocery stores which was really convenient. The owners have a son the same age as our son and they played together for hours which they both enjoyed. This particular hill that the house is on has a very interesting history from WWII and there is still a bunker in the hillside about 30 meters up the hill from the house (cool!). We stayed three different places while in Italy and although this place was about half the price of the place we stayed at the week before, all three of us agreed that this was by far our most most favourite place and we would definitely stay here again if we found ourselves travelling back to the Tuscany region. The house we stayed in is perfectly set up for a family of four or two couples. The owners have another rental place right next to the one we stayed at so if you had a larger group you could rent both places. If you do stay here you have to check out the castle ruins at Ripafratta which is only about a kilometer from the house. Amazing! There are also hiking trails all over the hills behind and around this place. I would advise having a car if staying here but there is a bus stop at the bottom of the hill.

Great property good base for exploring norttuscany

Spacious clean and v well equipped. The owners have thought of everything. Olive wood ready cut for the barbecue or pizza oven. Spectacular views. Friendly and welcoming owners. scent of jasmine and herbs fills the air. great beach at Vecchiano approx half hour drive. lucca well worth a visit or two. road up to property a bit hair raising but you get used to it!

Luisa taught English in a school near Pisa in 1986 and fell in love with the area. We returned, many times. We made lifelong friends and began to feel that this could be a new home and a new life. After 12 years of living and working in London, we decided to take the plunge, change direction and embrace the challenge of creating a new life. We wanted to be closer to nature, direct our own affairs and to live in a beautiful place with a decent climate.

We found 'La Lucertola' as a semi ruin, completely overgrown and crying out for some love and attention. We first fell in love with the incredible view and the prospect of living in the country but close to Pisa and the sea. We found it - this is a fantastic location.

This place gives us inspiration and the energy to live a good and authentic life. We are happy to share this beauty and joy with our guests who over 20 years of operation wholeheartedly testify to the magic of this very special location. The houses are spacious, comfortable and well proportioned. One would happily live in them all year round - they are much more than a simple rental property - they are proper houses with a true sense of home.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

The view is unique, breathtaking and truly inspiring. We can see The Leaning Tower, the Mediterranean coast and the islands of Capraia and Corsica. We overlook olive grove, forest, field and village. Overhead are birds of prey and the night sounds of owls.
