About the property

Apartment, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-5)

The apartment is located in the heart of Rome, in the district of Trastevere, a few meters away from Piazza San Cosimato market and the famous Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere, at the base of the Gianicolo hill. From this location you can enjoy walking along the small cobblestones streets to reach Pantheon, Piazza Navona and Campo Dei Fiori,Colosseum and Piazza Venezia really quickly (within ten to twenty minutes); the flat is quiet and refined and it's set on the 1st floor of a beautiful old building of the beginning of the 900.

It is composed by entrance, a fully equipped kitchen (dihwasher, washing machine, fridge, thermo ventilator oven, pots, pans,2 Italian coffe makers, etc.), a nice living room with a sofa double-bed, a television set, a CD-player, a radio, 1 bathroom with a shower, a bidet and a window, a double bedroom with a new orthopedic mattress and a window. There are some ancient pieces of furniture. Even if the flat is close to a shopping area that provides you with supermarkets, shops, daily fruit and vegetables market, typical Roman restaurants, the area is very quiet and safe at night. The flat is bright, just renovated and completely furnished. We provide coffee, tea, salt, sugar, pepper, vinegar, oil, and chocolate. Soap for dishwasher, and washing machine.

Wonderful Location, Comfortable Apartment & Gracious Hostess

  • 5 of 5

The apartment has windows looking out over two courtyards, but not over the street. This makes it quiet, despite its location on a fairly major thoroughfare in Trastevere. The apartment is as shown in the photos and the perfect size for two people, although the living room sofa and chair could be turned into beds. It was very clean and stocked with all the linens we could ask for.

Carmela arranged for a driver to meet us at the airport and was waiting for us when we were dropped off. She was very warm and gave us a thorough tour of all the apartment's accommodations, as well as tips for shopping in the neighborhood. In addition to leaving the basics for cooking, she left us a large bottle of water and -- best of all - a nice Montepulciano. Before she left, she made sure we had her personal email address, as well as all the phone numbers to contact her or her son, in case of any problems or questions. Carmela also offered to arrange our cab to the train station upon departure, which was much appreciated. Because I had trouble with my electrical adapter, I soon had to email her for advice and, within an hour, she'd dropped off one of hers for us. She also checked in with us via email a few times during the week, just to make sure all was well.

I didn't do much cooking, but there were plenty of multiple-sized pots and pans and good knives, as well as a few Bialetti coffee makers. We had plenty of great food to choose from, particularly for cheeses and sausages, in area markets, and a variety of restaurants. We especially enjoyed "Le Levain", for fabulous (French!) pastries and coffee, and "Ristorante Sette Oche in Altalena", on Via Salumi, near Chiesa Santa Cecilia.

Trastevere was great. The more we walked around other sections of Rome, the more we appreciated our neighborhood. We found it an easy walk to most of the ancient sites and also to public transit -- even to the train that goes to Ostia. At Carmela's suggestion, we also explored Testaccio and the Aventine, just across the Tiber, and were glad that we did.

A comfortable apartment in the authentic Italian Trastervere area.

  • 4 of 5

Carmela was a pleasure to work with before and during my 5 day stay from Sept 16-21, 2016. She answered my emails and questions promptly and arranged a taxi for me to and from the apartment. And a nice bottle of wine and bottle of water was awaiting me, which was a thoughtful gesture. I especially appreciated the updated bathroom with a large shower and hot water. And the Trastevere neighborhood is my favorite, very traditional with lots of local restaurants and a combination grocery, butcher, and bakery store around the corner.

Grazia Carmela!

We had an amazing stay in Trastevere. This apartment is very comfortable clean great location😀

  • 4 of 5

Carmella is very nice and informative. The apartment is in the center of Trastevere . This is not a touristy area, but we liked it, fruit markets, coffee shops, friendly Italian people. Good location, buss/ tram or walk. Suggest hop on hop off. If your looking for luxury/touristy area it's not for you. But we had a great time here.

Comfortable apartment in very fun neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

We spent four days here and found the apartment to be clean and comfortable. , Plenty of hot water and a very good shower. Bed was comfortable, air conditioning in bedroom a little weak but adequate. A/C in living room very good. Kitchen - we used only to make coffee and cut up fruit. Proved perfect for our needs. Neighborhood bar - "Big Star" - very friendly and always crowded with students. (Out door turn right go to corner and cross the street). Walk to main areas of Trastavere was very easy - we like to walk so we actually walked home from Borghese , over to Vatican twice, and to all the main sites including two overlooks of the City. Strongly would recommend staying in this area for the fun nightlife and street life . Host was very helpful and accommodating as well.

Great location!

  • 5 of 5

This is a very nice apartment with everything a visitor needs in a great location. It's close to all the major sites and in a safe and quiet neighborhood. We walked everywhere, including the Vatican and the Colloseum. Carmella was very charming and had arranged everything, even transportation from the airport. She made herself readily available and answered all our questions. Highly recommended!
