The apartment is located in the heart of Rome, in the district of Trastevere, a few meters away from Piazza San Cosimato market and the famous Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere, at the base of the Gianicolo hill. From this location you can enjoy walking along the small cobblestones streets to reach Pantheon, Piazza Navona and Campo Dei Fiori,Colosseum and Piazza Venezia really quickly (within ten to twenty minutes); the flat is quiet and refined and it's set on the 1st floor of a beautiful old building of the beginning of the 900.

It is composed by entrance, a fully equipped kitchen (dihwasher, washing machine, fridge, thermo ventilator oven, pots, pans,2 Italian coffe makers, etc.), a nice living room with a sofa double-bed, a television set, a CD-player, a radio, 1 bathroom with a shower, a bidet and a window, a double bedroom with a new orthopedic mattress and a window. There are some ancient pieces of furniture. Even if the flat is close to a shopping area that provides you with supermarkets, shops, daily fruit and vegetables market, typical Roman restaurants, the area is very quiet and safe at night. The flat is bright, just renovated and completely furnished. We provide coffee, tea, salt, sugar, pepper, vinegar, oil, and chocolate. Soap for dishwasher, and washing machine.

Great Location and a Cozy Bargain.

  • 5 of 5

This cozy Trastevere apartment is literally around the corner from Rome's liveliest nightlife. Everything from groceries, to the pharmacy and art supplies are a short stroll from the front door. Location, location, location. And, at a great price.

If thread count and views are important to your travels, keep looking. This apartment is definitely for the comfortable casual traveler unafraid of sorting glass bottles from paper. It has everything....a full kitchen, A/C, a washing and wifi and clean linens weekly. You'll be hard pressed to find a better bargain.

Good for a couple or small family.

One manageable downside, a circuit break issue if too many utilities are going at once. Otherwise, I recommend this apartment especially for the location and cost.

Wonderful place to stay in Rome

  • 4 of 5

My friend and I really enjoyed our 3 day stay at the Ilaria House. Both beds were comfortable and the apartment had everything we needed for cooking some meals. It was hot outside and the air conditioners worked well. We were able to walk to the Vatican (about 30 min walk). Carmela and her son, Davide, were very helpful. Getting around Rome takes a lot of energy and it was nice to come home to a comfortable place. The neighborhood was safe, had interesting shops and sites to visit, and lots of people come to eat there. The nearby farmers' market was great, as well as the nearby gelato shop, with very friendly staff at both places. I felt safe going to get gelato by myself at 10:00pm.

Ideal location, wonderful amenities and gracious help in getting settled in.

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at this Rome apartment. It has everything that we required for a comfortable experience. The location is wonderful, within walking distance of so many of Rome's highlights. The open air market around the corner was an excellent source for our fruits, vegetables & cheeses. The neighborhood has many reasonably priced trattorias for dining out (and many expensive ones too). Carmela could not have been nicer. She was there to greet us on arrival and made herself available throughout our stay. She even arranged for transportation from the port, where our cruise ended, to the apartment and also to the airport at the end of our stay. This is the way to experience Rome, staying in a neighborhood and shopping at local markets. Hopefully we will return soon for a longer stay. Thank you Carmela!

Great stay

  • 5 of 5

We loved the location of this apartment, close to lots great restaurants to choose from. Thanks as well for arranging a taxi pickup to the train station for us on the 25th, which I know was a very unusual day, we appreciate the effort you made. We found the apartment quite central, love to walk, and never used public transit. I logged our km, 130 km walked over the 4 nights that we stayed there. We walked to Coliseum, Vatican, and everything in between. There are some nice spots to visit right in Travstere, don't miss the city views from Janiculum Hill, which was an easy walk from the apartment.

Wonderful apartment, well equipped, quiet neighborhood and thoughtful owner.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for 8 nights. The owner, Carmela, arranged a 42 Euro pick up for us at the airport which was a good deal and made it easy and comfortable after a long flight. The apartment is very comfortable with a king size bed in the bedroom, sofa, tv, music equipment, desk, etc in the living room, very well and thoughtfully equipped eat=in kitchen (dishwasher which we didn't use and clothes washer which we did use), updated large bathroom with walk in shower. The neighborhood is away from the busy touristy part of Trastevere but easily in walking distance to that part and to most things in Rome. Also, it's a couple of long blocks to the main street where there is a tram, buses and taxis. Around the corner is one of the most amazing French bakeries where we bought fresh croissants and baguettes for breakfast every morning. There are numerous little shops and restaurants close by. The apartment overlooks two different courtyards and is very quiet. In short, we loved it. Carmela was very helpful when we needed her (for example to arrange a taxi for our departure) and I would definitely return on my next trip to Rome.
