Andorra Cottage is a stunning Lakeland Stone Cottage which has been beautifully refurbished into the stylish, English Lake District holiday home it is today. The spacious home is perfectly located within Windermere and Bowness and is within walking distance of Lake Windermere.

Our Cottage is set out over four floors, with four beautiful bedrooms and four excellent bathrooms, meaning it can comfortably sleep eight guests. We also have two homely living rooms and a rear terraced patio with table and seating for eight people which can be enjoyed on a calm summer evening, along with a spacious games room for the children to enjoy.

Family Easter break

This holiday was a family reunion and Andorra cottage was the perfect home away from home for two families with guests of various ages. We all had our own space to retreat to and space to come together to eat, and relax. I’m so pleased I found Andorra cottage for our holiday. We are visiting from Australia and loved our first visit to the Lakes.

Excellent stay in a great location

Easy check in with a host who was easy to communicate with. A welcome bottle of fizz and some biscuits was very appreciated. Well appointed property. Short walk to the town centre and the lake. Luckily the weather played nice and we had a great time. Would come again.

Lovely house in a great spot

A great property perfectly situated for all local amenities and walks. Really enjoyed it and highly recommend this for families or small groups of friends looking for somewhere to stay near Lake Windermere. Communication with the host was perfect and they are very helpful.Only opportunities to improve would be a really deep clean of the house and maybe upgrade the oven.Didn’t adversely impact our stay though!

Beautiful cottage in amazing location

This property was perfect for our needs as three couples travelling together. The house was immaculate and gorgeously decorated for Christmas. It had a beautiful feel to it, with attention to detail and everything needed to ensure a wonderful stay. Highly recommended, thank you for creating a cosy and comfortable place to stay.

Enjoyed our stay at the property. House was clean and tidy and the beds very comfortable. Only snag was parking at certain times of the day, otherwise it was great.

Great stay

We enjoyed our stay - the house had everything we needed, was clean and in a very good spot, walking into town was easy. Although no allocated parking we found it easy enough to park on the street nearby. We would recommend the property without reservation. Thanks

Lake District stay

All was well (nice accommodation) except that the light did not work in the bathroom which was an en-suite bathroom. Also, the other bathroom on the 1st level did not have a fan. Clearer instructions are needed regarding disposing of the rubbish (back garden), as well as, cleaning the steps to the back garden. The WELCOME pack was not received - it would be better to be left at the house for all to see! I hope this helps and best Zorica Patel

New Years Break

We had a brilliant time staying at Andorra Cottage for a New Year break of 2 families of 4. The location and close proximity to Bowness is perfect and means that so much is in walking distance that we didn’t need to drive. The house is well equipped and the basement room was a massive bonus for our teenagers who loved having their own space. The rooms are of a good size and although the kitchen is on the smaller size, it’s manageable. Alison was a lovely host and we really appreciated her great communication and welcome gift.

Amazing stay!

Really pretty cottage, very spacious, warm and perfectly situated. The host was great, very attentive and contactable. We had no problems at all, and 100% recommend staying here.

Our view of Andorra

Property not as well maintained as expected I.e. drainage in baths and showers poor. TV’s not tuned and water supply to baths and shower poor. Cupboard in basement loose and door actually fell off just missing one of us! Socket in bedroom to front of cottage - against toilet wall did not work.

Adorable Andora

Great location! Tastefully appointed rooms. Though not our original plan, it was just the two of us staying for the five days. (One couple abruptly ended their stay, before even getting to house,due to contracting COVID.) I made dinner all 5 nights we were there. Booths is a great store. We caught a movie at the Regal and enjoyed the quirkiness of the theater. The bus system allowed us to get everywhere we wanted to go and was so close. Walking around the neighborhood was enjoyable. We were befuddled by the heating system but Alice cleared that up. The only disappointment was the washer and dryer which failed us. We ended up going to a laundromat but have been told we’ll be reimbursed. We never found the “black plastic bags” we used the black bag that was already in the container but did not find another one for the bottles or plastic. We just put them in the trash container outside. I did buy paper napkins and paper towels. The welcome gifts were very appreciated and consumed during our stay. Lovely accommodations. Were we ever to be in Bowness on Windermere, we would certainly want to call Andora our home again. Thank you! .

Great location

Fantastic house with all you need for a break away, good location near to shops, lake etc Really comfy beds with lovely bed linen and a nice large bath towel each, no hand towels though. As long as you don’t mind stairs the shower on the lower level is ok so enough showers if you share. Overall would we stay again - YES

Wonderful cottage in a fantastic location

My husband and I recently stayed at Andorra Cottage with our three young children. The cottage was wonderfully cosy and welcoming, everything we were looking for for our first Windermere holiday. Just a short 10 min walk to Bowness shops and harbourside, and 20 min walk to Windermere. Accommodation was clean and well equipped, check-in was easy and Alison was very responsive, for any queries we had. The road was nice and quiet (as it was off the main street) and the neighbours were very friendly! Would definitely recommend.

Cosy and Comfortable

Great house with loads of space in a convenient location near to the town centre. Very cosy and comfortable, so the perfect place to be when the weather turns wet and cold. Alison is a great host and I would stay here again.

Traditional cottage in prime location

Communication with the host was excellent. The property is very traditional and was very well presented. It has a homely feel with lots of nice features. The bedrooms are all a good size and very comfortable. The living room and dining room are a reasonable size but the kitchen is rather small - I’m not sure that 8 adults could be catered for (but there was only 4 of us, so no problem). There are plenty of glasses, crockery and cutlery. We couldn’t get the televisions in the bedrooms to work but this didn’t bother us too much. There is a small well sheltered outdoor area with furniture for when the sun shines. We were able to park right outside the property, free of charge. The town centre is only a 5 minute walk down the hill where there are lots of restaurants and bars. I’m not sure that guests should be expected to strip beds and bag up bedding and towels on departure. This seems to be a Covid hangover, but it wasn’t too much trouble. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend.
