Very lovely enclosed garden spent most of our time there .. dogs loved being able to run about. Kids loved hot tub as did we. Pub nearby lovely. Farm shop lovely close by. Rooms lovely... generally a beautiful place to stay.. could have done a month there

Perfect for our family's needs

Spacious well equipped property with lots of character. Plenty of room outside for the children to run about and the outdoor eating area was used most nights.

Short Stay

We had such a lovely weekend away at Dreamwood Cottage. The cottage was perfect and the welcome hamper was a lovely surprise. the area is great with a couple of local pubs that were very friendly and welcoming. I booked the break as a last minute get away and we all enjoyed it so much that we will definitely go back. The Owners were really helpful when we needed them, thank you so much! x

Beautiful relaxing stay

The property was great and exactly what we needed. We stayed over new years, and really enjoyed the hot tub. We brought our dogs and the property was enclosed, this helped immensely. Also to note the ensuite was lovely, but if you are not fully comfortable with your partner, it might be a little uncomfortable as it is not completely closed in from the bedroom (no door, just a large opening). The only thing that needs to be fixed is the oven, we had trouble turning it on and when it did turn on it was slow to heat.

Beautiful Stay

Dreamwood cottage is absolutely beautiful, we had a lovely stay for 3 nights. The cottage is very well equipped with pretty much everything you could need. We didn’t visit anywhere locally but we did travel into York centre which is about 40mins away. We loved the amount of board games that were at the property and enjoyed playing these on an evening. The only issue we had was connecting to the wifi but Fran was very responsive. Thank you for a pleasant stay.

Relaxing stay

We had a lovely 3 nights at the cottage, which was in a very quiet and peaceful location. We struggled to get the key when we arrived and had a brief loss on internet but were able to ring the owners who were very helpful and the situation got quickly sorted. The hot tub was fabulous as well as the summer house for the kids, but we were a little disappointed at the lack of a welcome pack, which we have had in previous accommodations, and one of the wardrobes in the bedroom had a padlock on so we couldn’t use it. Overall, a relaxing family break.

Wunderbares Cottage in den Midlands

Dreamwood Cottage ist ein wunderbares historisches, sehr gut renoviertes Haus, das vollstädnige ausgestattet ist. Ein Highlight ist der Hottube. Wir haben viele Ausflüge in die Umgebung gemacht und neben Städten (Leeds, York, Blackpool, Manchester, etc) auch Schlösser und Nationalparks gesehen. Es war ein sehr interessanter und erholsamer Urlaub.

Great short break again

As a group of 5 women and living close by… it’s a quick drive and like stepping away from life. There is everything you need to have a fab time… the weather wasn’t kind to us this time, but it didn’t matter due to the covered canopy outside. A short walk to Blacker Hall farm for great food and local places for a great Chinese one night too. The only small criticism is that we had to wash all our pots and cutlery again before using. But as fuss pots it might just be us!! My niece left her expensive hair care behind and we contacted Fran who promptly replied and arranged for her to collect it. Communication is excellent. A little bit of tranquil luxury behind a wall!!!

Fun at Dreamwood

A beautiful home in gorgeous surroundings. Every need taken care of. The house is spectacular and the garden is beautiful. Hot tub was the major hit with the grandchildren. Would definitely recommend!!

Beautiful cottage and great location

We had a great stay at Dreamwood cottage, ideally located to visit Leeds, Wakefield and surrounding areas. The property was amazing and fully met the needs of the whole family. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

Lovely, characterful property

The property was charming and intriguing (would have liked a bit more information about it in the book of info?) Lounge and dining furniture, beds and bathrooms were comfortable. -i t would be an excellent place to visit in the summer too, as plenty of airy windows for ventilation and a very nice terrace and garden. We enjoyed the barbecue, and also the hot-tub. We visited the YSP - excellent - and enjoyed the wonderful farm shop close by.

Nice break in a nice property

We stayed as two families and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves despite the poor weather. Communication was good and the house is as described. Clean and quaint and in a very good location to explore this part of England.

Family getaway

Dreamwood Cottage is a very nice property set on the outskirts of Wakefield. It has good facilities and had all that we needed. It was a good location for the days out that we had. We would live to come back possibly in the summertime, so that we could make the most of the outdoor seating, bbq and hot tub.

Fantastic stay at Dreamwood Cottage ❤️

Had a wonderful stay at Dreamwood Cottage, was sad to leave! It has a lovely homely feel, just like home away from home! The garden is beautiful, we where lucky enough to have some fab weather so made the most of the outdoor space, plenty of outdoor and indoor games provided. The hot tub was amazing and very well maintained. The kitchen was equipped with everything and more. Bedrooms are beautiful, super comfy beds and plenty of wardrobe space. Location is great too…..10 mins into Wakefield where you can get a 10 min train into Leeds, pub pretty much next door which serves lovely home cooked food. Overall we would recommend a stay here I’m sure we will be returning in the future.

Wonderful rest and relaxation break

We have again had a wonderful stay in this beautiful property. All amenities in the cottage are great, the hot tub and outside space are wonderful! The location is quiet and peaceful, and the farmshop nearby is great. We will definitely stay again.

Yorkshire break

Lovely property ideal for a relaxing break. House is immaculate inside with comfy beds, all the facilities you would need including Sky TV with sports and films included. Externally nice garden, covered decking with ample seating outside and Jacuzzi which was used on a daily basis. Station Inn located 100 yards down the road is great for bar food and very reasonably priced (£8- £10 for most mains). Farm shop 10-15 minute walk away is definitely worth a visit. Picked up some some quality food for breakfast which we cooked on the outdoor hot plate and also stocked up on bbq food, cakes, bread, fruit etc for consumption through the week. Also location not to far away from motorway network so good base for tracking up to likes of York, Harrogate etc. Overall a great week at Dreamwood cottage with family and friends 👍

Dream cottage.

Lovely garden and house. Games room was fab.. lots of kitchen utensils to cook..and good location to explore both peak district and Yorkshire dales . Thank you we had a lovely time.

Hot tub & table football

We enjoyed a long weekend at Dreamwood, with plenty of space for all the family to relax both inside and out in the lovely private garden. The weather allowed us to eat outside on the covered decking area. We made good use of the hot tub and the kids loved to escape to the summer house to play table football. The property is well placed for days out with much to do within a short drive.

What a beautiful house

We had a lovely stay in This house and with the weather being glorious we never left it! It was clean, cosy and had all the little touches to make it such a relaxing stay. The garden is gorgeous. The beds were really comfy and Fran was a fantastic host answering any questions for me. We highly recommend this place

Beautiful escape

Very quick responses from Fran , beautiful property and everything like a home from home. Sitting on the patio you could believe yourself anywhere on the planet .. the large hot tub was a wow .. loved our stay , will be back to this stunning rental home .

Relaxation weekend

Fab house with everything you could want for a birthday celebration....think the fantastic weather helped! Spent the whole weekend sitting outside and making the most of the garden. Didn’t venture anywhere else as we only live ten minutes away!!! Blacker Hall Farm is great for food and the deli has everything you need for your snacks too.

A wet & wonderful time in Yorkshire

Dreamwood Cottage is an excellent holiday home from home, set in the lovely little town of Crigglestone. The cottage is set on a corner plot with a quirky design that is guaranteed to give people that little bit of something different. The split level ground floor has the kitchen & dining room immediately after the front door, followed by the two-sided wood burning fire, with one side facing the dining room and the other facing the sitting room which is down four steps from the dining room giving the split level aspect. A door from the lovely sitting room leads out to the glass covered, decked patio area with outdoor dining and outdoor hotplate for al fresco cooking and dining. Just beyond the decking is the amazing Hot-Tub, which has an instruction that is only to be used until 10pm for consideration to the neighbours, this was a minor disappointment as there's something really nice about being in the Hot-Tub under the stars, so depending on the time of year of your visit, this may not be possible. The gardens are beautiful and well kept and there is a Summer House, Wood Shed and secure parking for two cars. Access to the first floor and family bathroom is from the dining room and the bathroom does not disappoint, bath lovers will be delighted with the huge bath, their is also a good sized corner shower. Next to the family bathroom there is a good sized bedroom containing bunk beds & a single bed, perfect for kids. The next landing has a good sized bedroom containing a double bed & a single bed. The master is at the top and is huge, with a massive bed facing the open concept en suite, no door on the loo, so hopefully you are not shy, it is behind a wall though. We loved the quirkiness of the cottage, the location is fantastic, it takes 58 seconds (yes, I timed it) to walk from the back gate to the Station Pub which actually sells some pretty decent food. If you have a dog, 'Let The Dogs Run' is a 10 minute walk where you can hire a secure field with obstacles, jumps etc, an excellent set up sure to tire out the pooches. Across the road from the fields is Blacker Hall Farm Shop, an award winning farm shop that has amazing quality, would definitely recommend. Tesco Express is a 5 minute drive from the Cottage and there are dozens of takeaways if you can't be bothered cooking. Overall we had an amazing 5 days at Dreamwood Cottage, 4 days of pretty rainy weather and one day of glorious sunshine. Would definitely recommend and we will book again.
