About this property

Exclusive use hostel with large kitchen, dining room, lounge and en-suite dorms.

Perfect for extended families looking for a social bubble short break or holiday, the Soli Centre Hostel has been accredited by Visit England under the banner of luxury hostel type accommodation. Soli is less than 5 minutes drive from Alton Towers.
The building was formally known as The Lord Shrewsbury and was built in the 1840's for the Earl of Shrewsbury. The renovations have been carried out to a very high standard and all bedrooms are en-suite, with bunk beds sleeping 4 - 6 in a room You will have access to 6 bedrooms in total, giving you plenty of room to spread out.
Located in the heart of the picturesque village of Alton, we are within walking distance of the village shop, post office and several pubs serving wholesome food and real ales. For the thrill seekers in your family, we are only a five minute drive from Alton Towers.
For nature lovers and outdoor activity enthusiasts, it's just a 5 minute walk to join up with the picturesque Churnet Valley network of footpaths to explore by foot or by bicycle. Why not take a gentle 2 mile walk along the track, known as The Old Railway Line, to Denstone and treat yourself to locally produced food and gifts at the award winning Denstone Hall Farm Shop & Cafe. Or take a four-mile circular walk from the Ramblers' Retreat tearoom through the Churnet Valley and Dimmingsdale. Ashbourne, Dovedale and the Peak District are also a short drive away.
For real adventure lovers, enquire about our own outward bounds activities. These are run in and around the grounds of our sister property Alton Castle, which is just a short walk from Soli (only available by prior arrangement and tailored to your family's requirements).
There is plenty of room to store your boots and bikes in the side entrance vestibule, with ramp access and an easy clean laminate floor! If you fancy a night off from cooking, why not arrange in advance for us to cook dinner for you? We can provide a hearty 2-course meal for £15 per person (£12 for children under 11). Please enquire for more details and to book.
