About Julia Richard

We are managing "La Bougainvillea" with all our heart and applying attention to details to ensure guests are happy and well looked after during their stay.

Julia Richard purchased this apartment in 2013

Why Julia Richard chose Antibes

'La Bougainvillea' is renovated to a very high standards with beautiful bedrooms and a luxurious bathroom, a well equipped kitchen and a private and secluded courtyard for al fresco dining.

Although in the centre of the Old Town, we're on a quiet street unlike many other rental properties, so you don't have all the street noise at night. The house is also very cool on hot Summer's days due to the very effective aircon, the thick walls of the house and the shaded courtyard outside.

What makes this apartment unique

We have a stair gate upstairs and can provide a cot, high chair, toy box, bed safety rails, stepping stool, potty etc upon request.

We'll also be happy to assist you where we can in providing local information and recommendations.

Guestbook comments from the manager

What a great house: well appointed, with super central location, but at the same time quiet and secluded. Julie was very helpful and made sure we had the perfect holiday!

Even better the second time!

  • 5 of 5

Thanks again Julia for an absolutely wonderful stay in your gorgeous apartment in the heart of Antibes but yet so quiet and tucked away. We had an amazing two weeks - thank you! The surprise cleaning, felt like my fairy godmother had been to visit, when we returned from a day at the beach was AMAZING - thank you. Cyril and Marion were again just brilliant and Cyril picked us up and dropped us off and Marion, who is very responsive was super helpful as well. Thanks again for making our family summer in Antibes another memorable holiday

Delightful cottage in Antibes

  • 5 of 5

This place was fantastic and so central to everything. Very comfortable, clean and all the amenities you could possibly need. Fully equipped kitchen with basic essentials for a perfect stay. Supermarket across the road and plenty of restaurants to choose from. We loved Che Jules and Atelier. Just need to watch your head in the kitchen due to the curved wall... got bumped a few times as I am tall!

Great property in the perfect location

  • 5 of 5

Our second visit to this property, right on the edge of the shops and restaurants of Antibes. A 10-15 minute walk to the beaches, this property is in an ideal location. It is comfy and clean and has all you need for a holiday home.

A little haven in a busy town

  • 5 of 5

From booking to checkout it was all smooth and wonderful. Julia has a beautiful apartment in the Antibes Old Town. So well situated and has everything you need. Marion and Cyril are excellent hosts and so accommodating and even offer a collection/drop off service to airport which is brilliant as well. We love Antibes and this was the perfect find to end our summer stint in Antibes. We look forward to returning.

Property very conveniently placed for all facilities in Antibes.

  • 3 of 5

The property is located on the edge of the old Town on Antibes and is very conveniently located, with all main facilities and attractions pretty much within walking distance. The property itself is rather quirky and is just in need of a bit of attention. We were under the impression it was a house, but in fact it is the two lower floors of what appears to be a 4 storey property, with someone living in the upper floors while we were there - although that was not a problem.

The Terrace furniture is tatty with the chair cushions stained and washed out and the wooden table and chairs in need of a coat of varnish. However, the Terrace itself was nice for breakfast and an evening aperitif/night-cap, albeit a little claustrophobic with the surrounding high walls.

Accommodation was fine. The bedrooms were very good and beds comfortable. The air conditioning was not particularly effective though, so it did get a bit stifling at night making it difficult to sleep at times. Maybe we were not operating it correctly - but, disappointingly, there was no one at the property to meet and greet us on arrival to show us such things.

We were here for a beach holiday, and a 20 minute walk got us to the beach each day. The accommodation provided good beach towels, parasol and a few beach playthings for our grand-daughter, which was good.

One addition I would like to see, often found in rental properties, is a visitors book. It is always interesting to look through where people have come from and also to get any tips and recommendations from previous visitors (especially restaurants). I think the owner should consider this. Also, some of the leaflets of local attractions were well out of date and need updating.

Overall we had a very good relaxing holiday and enjoyed our stay. Antibes is a great town for eating out - with lots of good choices to suit all tastes - and all the ones we tried were excellent.

Owner's Response: Dear Derek, Thank you for your detailed and overall positive review. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay in Antibes and found our property comfortable. We would like to let you know that we do care about our home and are making renovations and improvements every year, this year we had to postpone works on June, due to a long-term reservation in spring. Just after your departure, we repainted patio, changed and renovated garden furniture, replaced seats cushions, renew pottery and plants and add ceramic tiles decor. Family stayed after you left a very positive review about our property. Please see new photos on our Homeaway page. Concerning the style of our Duplex, indeed it’s different, but that what we like about it and why our guests are coming back every year. It represents typical old Antibes Provencal properties. We do believe that to have a private patio in such densely built up area is a unique advantage, even with other buildings around. We will be more than glad to propose you another property we own, located right on the sandy beach of Juan les pins, which represents completely other spirit of Mediterranean sea holidays ( !!! We were very surprised to read in your review that there was no one at the property to meet and greet you, considering the fact that our Manager Cyril TOOK YOU FROM AIRPORT and brought directly to property, where you had an early check-in, even though cleaning after other check-out were in process and therefore he couldn’t do a tour around. Cyril and Marion were at your service during all your stay and could help you to deal with aircon or any other questions. They also took you to airport. We will take in consideration your very good advice about visitor’s book, usually guests were living the cards of restaurants and booklets directly in our leaflet holder, probably that’s why some of them were out of date, but we will also make a revision of all the presented information. Thank you very much once again for your feedback and we were glad to welcome you in our home!

Maybe a bit overpriced but I suppose this Antibes!

  • 3 of 5

The upstairs in this house is very nice but downstais it is very dark and needs attention to more lighting and as it is very enclosed even sittingout we didn't get too much sun which was a bit disappointing. Otherwise everything O.K.
