About this property

La Grange-two bedrooms

La Grange is part of a converted barn which has been transformed into a lovely house.
It is situated in a courtyard on an old farm in very tranquil surroundings. There are many walks from the property which are also mountain biking tracks.
It has two bedrooms, one with a double bed & one with 2 single beds, there is also room for a cot. The bathroom is between them. Downstairs is the sitting room/dining & kitchen area.
The entrance opens onto one of the 2 terraces, both of which are bordered with flowers, they are not fenced.
The village of St.Vaury is 1km away where there is a small supermarket, a bakery, a bar, a tabac, a bank, charcuterie, post office, a pharmacie, a hairdressers.
Ideal place for a quiet get away or house hunting as we are between Gueret & La Souterraine.
Limoges airport is one hour away and La Souterraine train station is 20 minutes away where there are trains from Paris( Gare Austerlitz).
Child friendly.
BBQ available.
There is a television.
There is a tennis and a basket ball court in the village. Fishing lake 1km away. Plenty of lakes nearby for swimming in (10, 15, 15 and 20 minutes away).

A lovely place to spend a few weeks in France.

A lovely place to stay with ample space yet having a cozy feeling. It was our first experience of France in winter which included a mixture of weather, but the log burner kept us nice and warm on the colder days. Rachel and Jamie were very friendly and helpful and we hope to visit them again in the future.

Lovely cottage

Upon arrival we were greeted by the hosts. We were welcomed and showed around the property. The cottage is adorable and has everything you need for your stay. I would highly recommend a stay. Très beau gîte dans une belle regiin

Nous avons réservé le gîte La Grange au sein de la propriété Le Chez de Rachel et Jamie. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour, profitant de toute la propriété. Nous avons eu la chance de sympathiser avec le couple de l’autre gîte et de la roulotte, ainsi qu’avec Rachel et Jamie. Les espaces des 2 gîtes sont bien privatisés et préservent l’intimité. Le gîte est proche des commerces et dessert bien toutes les activités de la région. Nous recommandons vivement ce gîte !

Heaven on Earth

We had stunning vacations at this cottage. Rachel and James are wonderful hosts. The enviorment is like from a postcard. Unfortunately our french is very weak and we where glad to enjoy rachels recommendations. We can only recommend to look for sights or attractions in advance. Then nothing stands in the way of a great holiday.

Un lieu magnifique avec des propriétaires super sympa. Nous avons passé quelques jours de vacances chez Rachel et Jamie et on ne s'attendait pas de trouver telles comfort, paix et amitié comme on a trouvé là bas. Le cadre est exceptionnel et le gîte est très propre, aménagé avec tous ce que vous pouvez chercher. Je recommande vivement !

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié les baignades dans les lacs alentours. Nos hôtes étaient parfaits et ont tout fait pour rendre notre séjour inoubliable. Tranquil nourishing & beautiful

There are two gites , one is attached to the owners house and the other is separate. We stayed in the attached one. Our accommodation was perfect for our needs , great nights sleep and relaxed days apart from when we left the property and walked and swam! Rachel and Jamie were very welcoming and attentive. The immediate surroundings are gorgeous and the village is just 1k walk . The surroundings beyond the house are beautiful with an abundance of wildlife . We spent our time walking and swimming in local lakes and rivers. It was a perfect holiday.

Lovely, relaxing and peaceful

The farmhouse was lovely and clean and in an idyllic rural setting with great walks from the property. Rachel and Jamie were really welcoming and couldn't do enough for us and were great company when we enjoyed a lovely meal made by Rachel. The lake at Anzeme is super for a day out as is Oradour sur Glane. Auberge des pecheurs restaurant at La Celle Dunoise was recommended by Rachel and the food was delicious. We will definitely return to La Grange but for longer next time!

Excellent, would stay again

The property was as described, clean and comfortable. The location is very quiet and rural yet only a short walk out of the village. Only five minutes off the motorway network. Great location for exploring the beautiful Limousin countryside. It is a comfortable days drive from the channel crossings. The owners Jamie and Rachel are very friendly and helpful.

Get away from it all.....

A delightful and beautiful setting awaits the visitor to Rachel and Jamie's charming farmhouse conversion. They are a lovely couple who have found a sanctuary amongst gorgeous rolling hills of green trees and forest. The farmhouse has been lovingly restored and has every comfort including WIFI. Nearby are a choice 3 gorgeous, tranquil lakes with fabulous swimming areas and a cafe on each beach, perfect for our 3 year old son. As a keen cyclist it is arguably one of the nicest places I have ridden a bike, virtually car free and endless rolling roads though forests, valleys and gorges. Highly recommended for a holiday away from the madding crowd!

Charming, exquisitely quiet location.

We stayed here last year, so we had a good idea what to expect. The owners warm welcome and hospitality was once again highly appreciated by us. We have been coming to this part of France for the past few years and this happens to be a great location situated in the heart of the peaceful French countryside. It is ideal for exploring the charming towns and villages in the area and, this year we discovered one of the many lakes in the region, which happened to be within easy walking distance of our accommodation. We would have no hesitation in recommending this property to family and friends - and we're looking forward to experiencing more of the same next year.

Le Grange

We consider ourselves so lucky to have decided to stay here during one of the many trips we made house hunting in the local area. Le Grange is modern, clean and well equipped but has retained a real French rustic feel after the renovations. The owners, Rachel and Jamie are so welcoming and knowledgeable on the local area and passed on many handy house buying tips!! The exterior of the gite is the perfect backdrop for evening drinks on the patio area and the interior feels welcoming and cosy and not like a 'holiday let' at all. We all felt very settled after our first night. A lovely property made even better by such great and genuine owners who will do all they can to ensure you have a good stay.

Why they chose this property

We bought Le Chez in 1997 and moved here permanently in 2000. Having learned a lot renovating the cottage we were ready to renovate la Grange with greater knowledge & ability.

What makes this property unique

Space & tranquility. Cycling/walking tracks run directly from the property. Surrounded by 6 hectares of land which we own, much of it wooded. Several swimming lakes nearby to cool down in the summer
