Buttercup Cottage 2-bedrooms (sleeps-4) Buttercup cottage has a spacious lounge, dining room and separate well equipped kitchen with an electric cooker, dishwasher, fridge freezer, toaster, microwave and washing machine.

The large downstairs bathroom has a bath with shower over, toilet, washbasin and underfloor heating. Upstairs there is a double bedroom and a twin bedroom.

The cottage has electric panel heaters. There is parking outside Buttercup Cottage and a spacious shared garden with views over Danby dale. Free WiFi for each holiday cottage. Payment in full for your Holiday Cottage is due 6 weeks before day of arrival.

NEW electric vehicle charging point

We welcome everyone to enjoy our stunning location in the North York Moor National Park just over a mile from village shops, a bakery, the Esk Valley railway, and 4 local pubs in the villages of Danby and Castleton; and the brilliant Danby Lodge National Park Centre. We are always onsite for your arrival and do our upmost to ensure your stay with us is as relaxing as possible.

The holiday cottages (originally sandstone barns) all have beautiful views, parking right outside the cottage and a Electric Vehicle charging point. The cottages sleep 2-4 people and all have well-equipped kitchens, dining tables, private bathrooms, free Wifi, and access to beautiful garden with 4 seating areas.

A great location to explore the National Park and the Jurassic coastline from the North to the South: Saltburn, Staithes, Whitby, and Robin-Hoods-Bay are all within easy reach. Travel on the famous North York Moors heritage railway and visit Goathland. A host of activities and adventure awaits visit: Helmsley Castle, Rievaulx Abbey, Pickering Castle, Dalby Forest, North Yorkshire Water Park, some of Britains oldest seaside towns and pretty moors villages.

Fantastic for cycling and walking there are routes for all abilities from our door. Close to the Esk Valley Walk path and St Hilda's Way walking route. We are lucky enough to be in one of the best places to see stars with the nearby Danby Lodge National Park Centre an official Dark Sky Discovery Site.

We stayed for four nights while visiting family near by. The cottage was large enough to allow our young granddaughters to sleep over. The owners were very pleasant and helpful.

So pleased to have had the opportunity to visit this wonderful place.

The location in Danby dale is superb, with views up and to either side of the dale. It is two field away from the ancient church and surrounded by farms. We heard owls from the garden at dusk, and also curlews on the moor. The accommodation is very comfortable. It has been very thoughtfully laid out, with what is needed, and nothing unnecessary. We felt we could ask about anything that wasn't clear, and for suggestions for walking routes, etc. Our hosts were around and available.

Location Location Location!

Back for a second visit, stayed for a week and wished for longer. The cycling is fabulous in all directions (on and off-road), lovely pubs in easy walking distance, and the coast a short car or train trip away. Rachel and Rory couldn't be any nicer or more helpful. Just a glorious, peaceful place

Wonderful, relaxing break in beautiful, clean accommodation .,with amazing views .

We were greeted with a warm welcome by Rachel on arrival . The accommodation was spotless and well presented with cake and milk in the fridge which was a nice welcome touch .A wonderful stay as always . We will be back 😊.

An outstanding property, in an idyllic and beautiful location in rural North Yorkshire

Simple put - there was nothing we didn't like about our stay. From the booking process right up until the day we left, the property and its owner Rachel far surpassed all of our expectations. The property was immaculately presented, spotlessly clean and well stocked with everything you could possibly need for a short or long stay. The views are simply outstanding, and the property itself is cosy, warm and beautifully laid out. Rachel was amazing throughout and we can't wait to come back.

Wonderful cottage in spectacular location

We have stayed at Church House Farm at least two times before. We love the beautiful countryside location and close proximity to Grandma's house. The hosts are friendly and keep the units in perfect condition. Washing machine and clothesline are essentials on a long trip.

Lovely and comfortable accommodation in a beautiful area of the country

A lovely property which is maintained to an incredibly high standard. Comfortable beds, comfortable sofas, and a well stocked kitchen (of kitchen tools). Outside there is a quiet place to admire the views and relax. Rory and Rachel are really friendly and very helpful. This was not our first visit, and we are already booked to return.

It really only takes one word,BRILLIANT.

The hosts were warm & friendly and always on hand with help and information if needed. Our accommodation was spotlessly clean and fully equipped with anything we might need. Nestled among rolling green fields it’s very easy to just relax and enjoy the peace and tranquillity it offers. The location was not too far for us to explore popular places such as Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay and the beautiful Mount Grace Priory as well as just enjoying a ramble across the heather covered moors.

I loved my stay

The property is spotless, comfortable, practical, and relaxing. Rachel is a warm and friendly host who is proactive in ensuring your stay goes well. Rory was on hand to save the day when I had a minor personal emergency. Excellent hosts, highly recommended. As for the views, the sights and sounds of nature and Yorkshire at its best, just perfect. And a really good location for exploring the moors, the villages, the countryside and Whitby a 20 min drive (off peak).
