"Harris" 1st Floor Two Bedroom Suite (Family):​

Our 1st floor family bedroom suite comprises two en-suite bedrooms, one double and one twin and your own sitting room/breakfast room all with great views over open countryside (these are the best rooms to watch out for the deer and sheep on the hillside).

A sunny first floor double bedroom with a view out southwards towards the old walled garden area, woodland, and cottages beyond is your 1st bedroom. This bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with a large window overlooking the Deer Park and the roll top bath has a rain water shower over it so why not relax in the bath while looking out over the Deer park?

The other large, bright, and relaxing en-suite room has twin beds and lovely soft pillows.

The en-suite bathroom is in the middle of the house so has no window but with the right candles you can just drift away to your own dreamland. The bath is complete with shower mixer taps.

Your private 1st floor sitting room (where breakfast is also served) is a wonderful place to relax after a busy day!
PARKHEAD HOUSE & OUTLANDER TOURS

A Visit Scotland 4* award winning bed and breakfast located right next to many "OUTLANDER" filming locations and only a short walk from "LALLYBROCH". We can offer our guests private walking tours from the cottage to Hopetoun House, Abercorn Church, Midhope Castle and Blackness Castle.

We are a simple 15 minute drive from EDINBURGH AIRPORT and to the EDINBURGH TRAM SYSTEM for easy and quick access into the city centre.

Parkhead House offers unique overnight cottage stays with the added benefit of welcoming hosts and a great Scottish breakfast.

This former Gamekeepers cottage is set on the edge of the idyllic Deer Park at the heart of Hopetoun and is just a short walk from Hopetoun House and Lallybroch itself.

We offer one, one-bedroom suite on the ground floor and one, two-bedroom suite on the 1st floor. All bedrooms are en-suite with wonderful views over wooded parkland northwards to the river Forth and Fife.

Each bedroom is individual yet beautifully appointed with the highest standard of furnishings and can be booked for a stay of one night or for a stay as long as you require.

Being only 15 minutes from Edinburgh Airport and 10 minutes from either Dalmeny or Linlithgow railway stations this makes Parkhead House a relaxed place to stay but still close to both Edinburgh and Glasgow.

We offer private accommodation, freedom and flexibility combined with the welcome of a traditional bed and breakfast so those travelling with children, enjoying the great outdoors or bringing the family pet can relax knowing you have your own private sitting room/breakfast room during your stay.

Each suite has tea/coffee making facilities, Free View TV, FREE Wi-Fi, radio alarm, hairdryer, towels, bathrobes and toiletries.

Our breakfasts are made using the best local organic produce supplied where possible by the Hopetoun Farm Shop and Estate.

We now offer wi-fi throughout the cottage and garden which you can use for free.

Our 2nd stay at Parkhead House and hopefully not our last! We love everything about it!

The accommodations are cozy and lovingly decorated! We love that you can walk to Midhope Castle and elsewhere. We love the deer, sheep and swans in the backyard. And most of all we love the care taken in our breakfast options, preparations and delicious snacks placed in our room each day!

Fabulous hosts who thought of every comfort, from generous portions and a wide variety of food to loaner slippers and robes, to clear and informative House Book with many useful resources, especially getting around and food recommendations. Spectacular setting with lots to do onsite and so many options for day travels, plus the delight of coming “home” to a tranquil and private upstairs suite. We especially appreciated the personal tour of Midhope Castle and surrounds.

Excellent Bed and Breakfast near airport and 30 minutes to downtown

This was our first and last night lodging while in Scotland. They let us drop bags early. The owners treated us well and answered questions quickly. I left my Kindle and they held it for my return. We had lovely views. It was quiet but could get to Edinburgh within a half hour. Breakfast was excellent . We could pick and choose what we wanted and everything was yummy. Overall, we all loved it. We were happy we were coming back at the end of our trip.

Wonderful Bed and Breakfast near airport

This was our first and last night lodging while in Scotland. They let us drop bags early. The owners treated us well and answered questions quickly. We had lovely views. It was quiet but could get to Edinburgh within a half hour. Breakfast was excellent and they accommodated us having breakfast promptly so we could leave for the airport on time. It's about 15 minutes from the airport. Overall, we gladly would stay here again

An exceptional accomodation in a perfect location.

The rooms were beautifully decorated, large and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was brought to our own living/kitchen area as we ordered the previous evening. The location is a quiet country setting and a lovely area. Our host James is the ultimate expert on "Outlander" and the nearby castles and stately houses. 5 stars all round.

We loved our stay at Parkhead House. James and Angela are first class hosts. We were welcomed as soon as we arrived and this place is just like home from home. The property is exquisite. We felt like royalty in the accommodation. The breakfasts were absolutely amazing. The surroundings were idyllic. Thank you for looking after us so well. We enjoyed the impeccable cleanliness, the friendly and attentive James & Angela and the comfortable and well-appointed rooms. The convenient and idyllic location was amazing and close to local attractions. The breakfasts were amazing and five stars for the chef. Our son said it is one of the best places he has ever stayed. All the little added extras were so welcome. This place was worth every penny and we will be back again sometime in the future. We will be sure to tell our friends about it.

Quick stay

Stayed overnight before catching a plane in the morning. Enjoyed the snacks available during the day. Comfortable furnishings and beds. Wonderful park in back. Very walkable with great views on the way to town.

Lovely hosts, very obliging. We had the 2 bedroom apartment. Very clean, had everything you needed. Away the main road so some walks and quiet. They did dog walking which was wonderful for us as we were attending a wedding. Definitely stay again.

Perfect ending to our vacation!

What a charming place to stay! We couldn't have asked for anything more. The place was clean and had everything we needed. The hosts were kind enough to leave some breakfast foods and snacks that were appreciated after a long day of travel. The hosts were very helpful with things to do around the area. If you are an Outlander fan, it is short walk to both Midhope Castle and Hopetoun House. It is a short walk to the village close by as well. Cannot tell you how happy we are we stayed here.
