Fantastic Cottage!
The owners have thought of everything in this property. I cannot fault it at all. One of the best holiday places we have stayed in. I would highly recommend it.

Bucolic Village life.....
Property is great. Could maybe do with a lick of paint here and there, but feels very cosy. What you should perhaps know bout is the village. It looks like a very sleepy little place, and is beautiful, however it is also seemingly the local mecca for motorcyclists. So on a sunny weekend expect there to be hundreds of motorbikes in the village. Now as a biker myself, I found this great, but realise it may not be to everyones taste. No complaints about the property at all though. Pet friendly too so double bonus. Plus the garden is pretty secure to make sure your pooches are safe. Highly recommend.

A Great Atmosphere in and around Millies Cottage
Everything about Millies Cottage was ideal for our needs, the view from the living room and kitchen/dining area was relaxing looking out over the village green, the elevated position reduced any vehicle noise, the rear garden fully enclosed & ideal come the warmer summer months, lots of dog walks on the door step, places to eat & drink, cosy bed, cosy cottage and thank you Shaun for the information and welcome texts. We were visiting family in the area, so ideal for us & will return!

About the host

Visit Essex describes Finchingfield as the 'most photographed village in England' and has won awards for its traditional picturesque setting. The combination of duck pond, village green, hump-backed bridge and pub, overlooked by colour-washed cottages, windmill and a medieval church, give it an unbeatable series of views, which are often found on calendars, chocolate boxes, tea towels, postcards and jigsaws.

Millie's Cottage is named after the owner’s grandmother who lived in the cottage with her husband Ernie in the early 1900’s. Ernie was a local farm worker and Millie was a house keeper at Brick House, the property situated near the pond.

The cottage has remained in the family and the owners father, Richard, was born here in 1934. Richard was an organ builder and has played the church organ in the village for the last 60 years. If you stay at the cottage you’ll see an example of his handy work, a coat rack made of oak and the manual pulls from an old organ.

It is a property which holds many memories for the family who hope you have a chance to enjoy it as much as they have.
