Refreshingly cool in summer, 18th century gite, centre Forcalquier
This charming gite was originally a stable in the 18th century. Several decades ago, it was lovingly restored and converted into a home - 86m2, is on two levels, in the old part of Forcalquier. Refreshingly cool in summer. For winter there is central heating and a wood burner. Close to everything yet tucked away enough to remain quiet even in the busy summer months. Restaurants, shops and the famous Monday market are all close but as the gite is at the end of a quiet road you're unlikely to be disturbed.
Ground floor is a 43m2 open-plan kitchen, dining and living room. First floor has two bedrooms, bathroom and an ample landing with a large terrace leading from it (three steps down from the landing).
Please note that while there is only one flight of stairs, they are a little steep. Please see photos.

Why they chose this property
This property offers the experience of staying in an old country gite while at the same time being right in the old part of Forcalquier. It is tucked away from the bustle of restaurants but just a few minutes' walk to reach them. The added advantage of this property is being able to park right in front of the gite if you want to. Equally there is parking in the street very close by. You will also be very close to the cathedral, boulangerie and other small shops, and a few minutes' climb up cobbled streets to the citadel.
